Aaron left the gate behind, staring at the high sun overhead trying his best to calm himself as he entered the flowery clearing. He had failed again, his second chunin exam failure. Anger and fury buzzed in his head, his failure his own. The first exam had given him his first mortal enemy the Aburame who bested him. Yet this time he could blame no one but himself. All that training and for what? A futile scream escaped serving no purpose but to help him feel better.
He had nothing to do now, everyone moving on to the next round. Gazing at the flowery field around him with its rainbow variety of flowers, Aaron collapsed to the ground thinking of his next course of action. "It could be worse," whispered the bees inside his head. "You could be dead." Aaron sighed breathing in the earthy smell. Nature was his friend. Time passed as he contemplated all the possible scenarios for his future.
By the time the orange glow of the setting sun filled the horizon, Aaron had made up his mind. He would hold off on returning to Stone. As he already arrived in the Land of Sea he might as well wait and watch the finals. He could return when they were over. As he had permission to be here, why not utilize this chance. There were many ninja here from many villages. Perhaps one of them could shed light on what happened to his opponent from last year's chuunin exams.
Aaron would spend the night under the stars, listening to his bees mutter comments. He understood what they wanted. His clan and his honor were at stake now. He could afford no more failures. As he drifted off to sleep, he thought of how his war against the Aburame would begin, starting with the Aburame who bested him once. He would never get that chance again.
Come sunrise, Aaron would do nothing but relax in the field of flowers watching the bees fly about. Soon people would be returning from Round 2 and he could gather information, but until then he may as well enjoy his habitat. Still, careful to the end Aaron would release enough of his bees so that they could enjoy the field of flowers, its sweet fragrance, while guarding the perimeter. Lying down out of sight, buried underneath the gaze of tall flowers, he would meditate on life and try to restore his inner peace, listening to the gentle sound of the buzzing bees.
