Okuda had woken up early that day, it’d been a bit since he had last met with his team and decided that he was ready to begin his rigorous training once more. He still had many techniques to learn if he wanted to Master Goutetsu, so he picked up the bag full of scrolls from the library and headed to a small training area after placing both his Katana and his Wakizashi on his left hip as usual.
Reading the scroll on the way there, he realized that the first technique would be rather difficult to train alone, but not impossible. The first technique was going to be the dynamic action, a counter attack option. It would involve shadow fighting to learn, but it’d be doable. When he arrived at the training area, he set up a wood log to be standing upright, he then entered his fighting stance. Okuda then waited a few seconds, taking in the scenery.
He was in the midst of a forest clearing, the sun was shining brightly and birds were chirping, but soon the sound of combat would be heard as Okuda began to train, he had preformed a perfect back flip to counter an imaginary punch that was thrown at him, as he landed he charged forwards, throwing a heavy punch at the center of the log, where the face would be if it were a real person.
He then had the shadow person that was stationary as the log throw another punch, unfazed by the punch as Okuda yet again deftly back flipped out of the way of the punch. Okuda wasted no time as was his way of fighting anyways, charging forwards Okuda drove yet another fist into the log, this time caving a bit of it in, and the “shadow person” would have a shattered nose, groaning in pain.
This was of course all inside is mind, a training technique he had picked up after training many techniques alone, he had to simulate proper combat in his mind against stationary targets. Okuda didn’t have long to wait before the imaginary person threw yet another punch, though because he was stationary he couldn’t truly get a real training experience out of the fight, he lamented in his mind as he soared through the air in his backflip.
The moment he touched the grass he was off already, moving subconsciously without having to actually tell his body to officially do anything, it already knowing how to react to the situation by now. Okuda felt his hand going from a neutral position, to cocked back and then flying forwards before he really realized it himself. He was used to this sort of auto-pilot mode as his muscle memory took over.
He preferred to let muscle memory take over quickly, as it would allow him to better get used to the movements as he made them. Before is mental illusion could even take true form, retaining only a barely humanoid form, the image punched forward though it was too late as Okuda was again in the air, by the time the shadow person’s fist reached where he had just been. Okuda kept his sapphire blue eyes on the log, as he landed.
The moment his right foot was completely on the ground, he shot away like a rocket, going full speed as he reached the target, slightly to the side, his fist inches away at its cocked back position, he drove the fist in, he then sent the log rocketing away, crashing into another tree, the entire top part of the log had been smashed to bits, destroying his primary target for his training.
