As she read the passage to her own lion, she learned a bit herself. She knew a lot about Ōmo's specific breed, but not his species classtypes and their cousins. By the book, they weren't 'bald,' but they had no manes. They were also smaller than Ōmo's own type, the Mountain Lion's cousin, and much lankier. Looking to the fat pink cat, Harue thinks that's probably incredibly true.

Apparently they were even caution, and less aggressive. Perhaps Ōmo wasn't the best comparison, given his unnaturally aloof and lazy attitude. It prompted her to wonder how many types of lions she might find in the mountain region, so she began a very specific thumb through.

Surprisingly, there were a ton of different cats in the mountain region. There were probably a hundred different species of cats alone, and this thought alone was amazing to her. She supposed she already knew it to be true, but it was incredible to know there was probably hundreds of types of every animal out there, whether it be a difference in small and giant. Which there were plenty of giant things in the mountain regions too, apparently.

Reading past the cute, she came across the ugly or hideous. While some may hate them, Harue found even these critters to be a delight. She was quite fond of the scorpions, especially their giant and Hellish cousins. Apparently they were extremely viscous.

The scorpions, most of any cousin to its parent species, had venomous stingers at the ends of their curved tails and have one motive, according to the book itself -- sting an opponent until it stops moving. To add insult to injury, apparently one who can understand the speech of these critters would hear them sputtering rude and sarcastic remarks, unafraid to insult even the most insecure and sad of targets. Truly, they were atrocious.

The rest of the book went on to describe some of the lesser details of the creatures in the Mountain regions to be cautious of when it came to animals. Specifically it spoke of dens to avoid, and tracks one might find in their travels.

Water Release Skill

Description: This technique does not count against the user's Release Training Points. Water is one of the basic elemental nature transformation techniques allowing the user to manipulate pre-existing water by turning their Chakra into Water. It takes much more ability to create the water outside the body than to manipulate what is already available or expel it from their mouths (Need Water Creation Technique from Jutsu Enhancement Techniques). Water Release techniques can not only change shape but state as well. Moreover, the water becomes more solid in the process as well, and certain techniques can even allow the user to increase the water's density or viscosity, making it a suitable element to capture the targets. Offensive water techniques seem to inflict harm from the sudden force that they exert, which would cause massive internal damage to a human. Any Save Difficulty mentioned in a technique, whether Fortitude or Will is based off of 10 + 2 per Class Level + Impeccable Will. Some Ice Release techniques need pre-existing ice, snow, or water nearby in order to be used. Techniques that require a small source of water nearby is measured between 1.5 to 6 cubic meters. Medium is measured between 6 to 30 cubic meters. Large is measured between 30 cubic meters to 350 cubic meters. Huge is measured between 350 cubic meters to 1,500 cubic meters. Colossal is measured by anything more than 1,500 cubic meters.
Limit: Must learn for Water Release NinJutsu.

In an endless attempt to strengthen and expand her skillset, Harue found herself suddenly immersed in NinJutsu. For the moment she wanted to focus on mokuton; a release she understood well because her wife was well proficient in the art but also because Harue simply had a unique love and appreciation for all things floral, botanic and lush. Before that, though, she needed to tempt the suiton release first though; the basic working knowledge of bending water was indicative of the wood manipulation.

She found that tapping into the elementals came easily enough to her. She didn't care to credit anything for it, instead taking advantage of how easy it really was. The practicing came spontaneously under the steady thrum over her shower head, standing naked there as she molded her chakra to mingle with the pouring droplets. Before the end of her shower she was warping the virtual rain to her whim. 

Pooling it into a ball, she uses her chakra to swirl her growing water ball around the tub, separating it into suspended droplets before letting it crash down into the floor. Rivuleting them into water snakes, she urges it to slither down the drain in tendrils. By the end of it she was merely experimenting, testing the density and the fluid, finessing the easiest part.

Description: This technique does not count against the user's Release Training Points. Wood Release is a nature transformation combination release of Earth and Water. At its simplest, Wood Release allows the user to create wood essentially converting their chakra into a source of life before, at its greatest, becoming mighty trees of various size and shape. The vegetation can sprout from the user's body, or grow from the surroundings. Wooden constructs can also be created, ranging in complexity from cages to complete houses. It is not necessary that the created wood take any identifiable form, allowing users to focus on its inherent pliability to ensnare targets or its durability for brute force attacks. Wood Release can produce very detailed, ornate constructs. Some Wood Techniques come in 4 Density of Vegetation Effects, which interfere with ranged attacks, or impose penalties on movement. Density of Vegetation Effects are described in the Adventuring section of the Player's Handbook under Density of Vegetation in the Terrain section. Any Save Difficulty mentioned in a technique, whether Fortitude or Will is based off of 10 + 2 per Class Level + Impeccable Will. Some Wood Release techniques need pre-existing leaves/flowers/grass nearby in order to be used. Techniques that require a small source of leaves nearby is measured between 1.5 to 6 cubic meters. Although she expected mokuton to prove more difficult than suiton, Harue was pleasantly surprised to find that the molding of vegetation was by far the easiest elemental manipulation she'd yet to encounter. After thoroughly combining the doton and suiton particles of her core chakra, she was able to successfully enter the same plane as the wood release. By welcoming herself to it, she was able to command it.

Infusing a small token of life into her chakra, she was bale to easily convert her chakra into a physical manifestation of the mokuton. It seemed to also be the most gratifying release in her arsenal as it didn't seem to require a healthy secondary source, feeding instead off of her. Still, her constructing material was surely finite. Through closer application of practice, she was able to discern the growth always from something. Spores became blossom under her guidance, dirt became sentient.

Out in the training fields, she worked with whole creations and pushed the mokuton to its extreme, testing it base capabilities. It seemed concentrated enough, replicating earthborn vegetation impeccably. Through her glowing eyes of the allseer she could tell it had a chakra makeup; hints and traces of her left there, marking her work even after she'd leave the training fields eventually.

So long as the user can create a tree, or a large structure, it can be altered into a Fungus Jutsu. Instead of Hardness, or Natural Armour, Mushrooms apply a Deflection bonus. All Damage and Armour Points do not alter. Jutsu Handseal/Chakra Increase: 0 Rank.

Working on pure aesthetic, Harue wanted to redirect the visage of her vegetation. Instead of being confined solely by the bark and leaf of tree, she wanted to expand upon all types of garden. Focusing on one of her favorites first, the pinklet began shaping the mokuton into miniature mushrooms to start.

In her mind they were cute and perky, but her first tester was utterly disappointing. From a small, wet spore in her palm she erected a splinter, looking rotted and holed instead of textured and soft. From this grew a gross green, papery slime cap, speckled by hints of bark.

It was not her intention but it didn't quite upset her, finding it instead an impromptu challenge. The chakra wanted so badly to form a sapling instead of a fungi. Harue understood, suspecting it fought the unwelcome change to its DNA. The second attempted mushroom was not more shocking that the first, but incredibly different.

Harue couldn't tell if this was progress or digression. A homely worm grew in jagged juts from her palm, bare and complete with tiny, hair like branches. At the end of each colorless whisker was an annoying leaf, unwelcome here in this shape. Again and again, she attempted a mushroom instead of a tree.

Some time into her practice, the mushroom crafting slowly grew easier and easier. Where the initial work with the original form of mokuton was so easily attainable, she hadn't expected the simple reconstruction of her base material to be quite as difficult. Nonetheless, she was garnering a certain level of expertise. At the mushroom forming, at least.

Once she had thumbed trough a book detailing fungi and their schools, she was able to better replicate, and in due time she'd be able to craft specific species. Truthfully she hadn't even thought about species when she was working with the wood itself, so she was amazed at the possibilities this entailed.

She blew new color into her forms, this taking a bit more work than the simple detailing. Analyzing the amount of chakra expense idly, she found that it did not siphon off too much of her qi storage in favor of these altered mokuton creations. She had to spend a bit of work on the vivid visualization of color, practicing over and over until she could rightfully infuse any color she pleased.

Thankful, she saw no issue in dedicated, repetitive practice until she perfected it. It was the flaw of the perfectionist and it doomed her to hours of overwork, yet regardless it paid off in its own way. By the end of the day, she was birthing all types of mushrooms, the colors and shapes all naturally whelmed.

Finally, she wanted to work on more productive applications of this alteration technique. The mokuton itself could create relatively large constructs, and Harue had never seen a huge tree before; she was all too excited to raise a mushroom equal to her size.

Draining a bit of her chakra for this, she rose house after house of mushroom. Not that they could home anyone; they were perfectly normal mushrooms, except the size of the houses in Kusa. Oh, to live in a mushroom home, she thought idly as she worked away at perfecting the mushrooms. Were these, at their hearts, just as wooden as mokuton's base?

Leaving her only to test the density to test this out, she erected two samesized examples with equal parts chakra; one a large, red capped mushroom and the other a furling, sturdy oak tree bare of leaves. Winding back a powerful punch, the pink witch demolished each with a single blow.

Comparing the two, there was no real difference save for the texture against her knuckles and the way they blew apart. The mushroom was chunky, flying apart like styrofoam; the tree splintered and exploded, raining debris of earthy darkness. This alteration truly was purely aesthetical.

Spore Poison Jutsu

Effect: Within Fungus Jutsus, the user creates Spores with debilitating effects. Depending on how much time and Chakra the user puts into the Jutsu depends on the outcome.

Description: All Spore effect Jutsus affect targets through inhalation. A Fortitude Save is needed per Effect (10 + 2 per Class Level + Impeccable Will). Spore Effects affect targets the same way the original Jutsu affects targets. If a Jutsu affects 1 target, the spores will affect 1 target. If a Jutsu affects an area, the spores will affect the area. Spores are in essence a power of its own. All Spore have Armour Points equal to half of the Armour Points that make up original Jutsu. Any Jutsu that does not have Armour Points grants Armour Points to the Spore equal to half of Rank of Jutsu. When an attack is directed at a plant with Spores still attached, damage is dealt to both the plant and spore Armour Points. Spores are not affected by the Ironwood Jutsu. Dealing damage to the Wood technique deals damage to the spores. Spores are incredibly resilient and thus gain a "resistance" to Fire effects (take half damage). However Spores have a "vulnerability" to Acid effects (take double damage). Effect of Spore is dependent on user's application of Jutsu Handseal/Chakra Increase.

Intrigued by the extent at which she could stretch the mokuton and its alterations, Harue wondered just how authentic she could craft her mushrooms; to what was her limit? Fueling a touch more life into her creations without threatening to fatigue herself, she began now working with these new forms' spores and their potential airborne risks.

Of course, there were a few nonlethal utilization of her mushrooms—aphrodisiac, the hypnotic, a smidge of the psychedelic. But beyond the fun lied the usefully violent and petty and ugly. Namely, the using of mushrooms' excretion to poison and attack.

Through their vapor spore puffs were damaging dusts, a plethora of potentially useful aromatic soldiers to be inhaled by the unknowing. It was an opportunity she could not pass on, so she got to diligent research and experimentation. Extensive research on mushrooms, their anatomy and what attributes they possessed. What they could produce.

Apparently, commonly, this application of (maybe not always artificial mokuton) mushrooms was regarded as spore poison. Reading up on these spores, she noted each as less than mundane but needing a certain oomph. She had no doubt chakra could act accordingly.

By altering the makeup of the mokuton's alteration, she was able to further militarize her destined earthen arsenal. If she could rightfully apply her chakra where it mattered, she could replicate a number of symptoms and enhance their disastrous effects. Tracing a pretty finger over the page, she's fascinated by the mushrooms themselves, even on their natural level.

There was an asci which could release these varying effects, from the inner surface of a matured fruiting body. Their stock and caps were also capable of holding strange and fantastical powers, some which even went beyond chakra and pain. Harue could not get sidetracked. She had to stay on task; make use of the things that were actually relative to her.

Taking the time to ponder of each of these calculated possible necessities, Harue lets herself first get familiar with the very core concepts of each effect, and from which mushroom sporetype they derived from. Relative to her first in the reading was the dazing effect.

According to her books, a person or creature dazed would suffer a befuddled mind, unable to properly think or react, essentially temporarily losing themselves. Within certain fungi types these effects could be so potent that they cause hallucinations and a prolonged lapse in mind and perception of being.

This, however, was not something Harue could rightfully weaponize; she could most likely grasp the raw of it, but not the full, mindwarping power of it. At the very least, 'dazing' seemed entirely craftable. Although it may not last the longest, it read to be impressively pungent and effective.

Another wicked application to these mushroom spore poisons was similar in that it was befuddling; there were some fungi which could elicit dizziness, which often went hand in hand with nausea and dazing. Targets dizzied would lack common coordination and have a hard time moving; proving ultimately useless in both offense and defense for a brief moment.

Luckily, Harue knew how to utilizes these windows of opportunity no matter how small. Sometimes you only needed that single second. Already the pink witch saw before her a slew of practical uses, with even a breath's worth of potency in future spore plume attacks. Additionally, fatigue was another symptom of some of these same mushroom types. This was also not too much unlike the prior.

It seemed there was a type of theme when it came to mushrooms and their potential plume advantages. Paralysis was particular to the previous symptoms she'd discovered as well, with a disgusting sickness being the most removed from the rest. And perhaps her favorite; she'd always had a fascination in rendering opponents incapacitated through sheer gutache alone.

Researching further, she found that there was a little more beyond the purely physical, external or internal; mushrooms could directly influence the will, the agility and the strength of an individual and temporarily damage their innerworkings. This was most interesting to her and she hoped to put it to good use someday.

Unfortunately just because she could research and learn the ins and outs did not mean she could rightfully apply it. Firstly though she had to know the risks, she had to understand what could go wrong lest it went awry under her thumb at the worst time.

Not only could the spores be directed towards a single individual or linger within an area, the particles themselves were of their own strength separate from the mushrooms they are born from. Furthermore, she could have the opportunity to take a stealthy approach by initiating contact with her opponent first.

Apparently, if a created mushroom is damaged so too are its spores, although typically only if they have yet to be deployed. Harue wondered if destroying a created mushroom would snuff the spores at their source and render them either dispersed or ineffective. It was an interesting drawback to consider.

And while spores are incredibly resilient and harbor a slight natural resistance to fire, they proved vulnerable to acid. Luckily that was not too much to find avoidance in, and truthfully Harue did not see many people around carting specific acidic prowess. Easily maneuvered around then, save for the instances she might actually be met by this block.

With this good knowledge she began really diving into the actual practice. She erected small mushrooms in the woods behind her home, a cluster of them popping out the side of a tree she stood before. Taking a few idle strides back, she began working the potential magic.

It took a little bit to even just mold the spore clouds. Focusing first on the replication she had not considered the process first, instead only looking ahead to the outcome. After a few failed attempts through this approach she took a step back, fully assessing.

She started small then, working with the mushrooms themselves instead to first infuse them with these poisonous spores. Once she began working at it from this angle, it was not such a leap to pasteurize the spores via her fungi.

Eventually, it became so increasingly easy that she finally could focus on the desired effects wrought by her clouds of poison. Instead of using a test subject she simply peered through the Tasukeru to read the chemical makeup of her mushrooms and their dusts. Satisfied with what she saw there, she moved onward.
