Naruto Forum Role-play is a non Canon Role-playing site. Our goal is to use a basic structure that surrounds the myth and systems of Naruto while create our own. A non-canon site does not pigeon hole the players. We are not bound to the actions of the fandom, and our choices are our own. Your adventures are yours. Your adventures are not dictated by the creation of another. In Naruto Forum Role-play you are your own person.

There are two ways to get questions answered. First is by posting in our Support Board. All Staff members periodically go through and answer questions. We strongly advise everyone to become acquainted with our Rules. Our rules are pretty standard form but here you will see what we allow, do not allow, and our warning system.
Naruto Forum Role-play has one of the most extensive geography lands out there. You can find all of our Geography information in This Thread. Here you will learn the ratio of people with bloodlines to non bloodlines, their connections to other lands, city capitals, and even their nationality. It is a fun way of looking at the world you're encountering.
The Organizational System
Curious about what kind of Ninja there are? This Thread will give us an example of the different types of Ninja you may interact with or the type of Ninja you may become. It will give you an understanding of what to aim for mission wise, and experience wise.
The Player's Handbook
Then when you become more comfortable you can check our in-depth Player's Handbook. There is no need to delve into it now, but when you become used to the site you can check it out as it has every rule pertaining to Character Role-play.
When you want to get started in Naruto Forum Role-play, you will need to create a character yourself. All Characters start at the lowest rank in our system, which is called "D" Class. This will be your marker in the world of Naruto. First, you must choose is what Specialists you are (this determines what your character can do). You can pick whatever looks and feels best for you.
Most information in the template is self explanatory, however there are some key parts we would like to bring forward to help you create a character:
Bloodlimit: A character may only have 1 Bloodlimit. However, some are restricted so please read the Restrictions of each Bloodlimit.
Alignment: We follow a stricter concept of Alignments. If you are curious about what kind of alignment best fits you, you may go through our Alignments Board. Please note that Chaotic Evil is not permitted to be Ninja.
Special: Here is where you choose your "Class" or your Specialists. There are a few rules when choosing your Specialists.
You may choose 2 Specialists and 2 Non-Specialists unless you choose a Master.
Your 2 Specialists and Non-Specialists cannot be the same (Example: Cannot choose NinJutsu Specialist and NinJutsu Non-Specialist).
If you choose Master you may choose 1 Non-Specialist.
The Specialists we have are NinJutsu, GenJutsu, TaiJutsu, Clan, and Medical Specialist. Same applies for Non-Specialist, and Master, however there is no Medical Non Specialist, nor Master.
Primary Equipment: New Characters start with 13,000 Ryo of Primary Equipment. All Items are found in the Items Index. All Primary Equipment are listed as "Main" with the exception of Apparel. You may start with an animal companion so long as it is an animal, medium size, and has a cost within the Ryo range. Rituals also apply as Primary Equipment. You may start with any item so long as it does not have a percentage chance of finding.
Secondary Equipment: New Characters start with 30,000 Ryo of Secondary Equipment. All items are found in the same Items Index as Primary Equipment. All Secondary Equipment are listed as "Secondary" with the exception of Apparel. You may start with any item so long as it does not have a percentage chance of finding.
Note on Alchemy: Alchemy is extensive but we will help you find some fun items. If you are looking for Explosives you can find them in the Chemicals & Compounds thread. If you are looking for Poisons you will find them in the Toxins & Poisons Thread.
Apparel: New Characters start with 8,000 Ryo of Apparel. You may start with apparel that does not have special properties or abilities. Apparel allowance gives enough for a complete outfit if one chooses: Boots, Gloves, Bracers, Headband, Jacket, Undershirt, and Pants. However keep in mind that secondary Equipment take up apparel space. If you do not have enough apparel space you will not be able to carry all of your secondary equipment.
Shinobi Headbands: All Shinobi start with 1 Headband of their Village. This headband is considered a Masterwork item. These Headbands may be upgraded during their tenure as a Shinobi, or upgraded by the Chūnin Exam Council when becoming a Chūnin. Shinobi Headbands can be treated as either a Headband, Belt, or Neck piece.
Personality, Appearance, and Background: Must be written within 3 paragraphs for Non-Bloodlimits, and 5 Paragraphs for Bloodlimit characters.
Techniques: New Players start with 150 Training Points (or Experience Points) if they start with no Bloodlimit. New Players with a Bloodlimit start with 100 Training Points. Training Points dictate what your character knows. These range from Techniques to Skills. For a deeper look in how Training Points work you may look in the Class Levels section of the Player's Handbook.
For New Players who are "D" Class Characters: "E" Rank Techniques cost 5 Training Points, "D" Rank Techniques cost 10 Training Points, "C" Rank Techniques cost 30 Training Points, and "B" Rank Techniques cost 80 Training Points. Techniques come in abundance and can be found in our Index, but do not fret as we will give some more detail about them in a moment.
Freebies: Every character starts with a number of "Freebies" detailed in the Techniques section of Making Characters in the Player's Handbook. Freebies are Releases, Perceptions, Stances, Skills, or Traits. Freebies do not add nor deduct from your Training Points allowance nor do they add to Training Points to your Class Level. It is strongly recommended to use all of your Freebies in Traits. Traits can be found in the Skills & Traits Index. If you are looking to add a little flair to your character we suggest checking out our Ancestry Traits.
Techniques a Closer Look: If you do not know what to look for, check out the list below. Here you will get an example of what you will find in our Index.
Releases: Releases are Nature Transformation. They involve molding and altering chakra to a specific property of elements. Release is in essence Elemental Chakra. Here you will find Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, and Water. You will also find advanced Releases such as Ice, and Wood.
Perceptions: Perceptions are GenJutsu, or Illusionary Techniques. Illusionary techniques are divided into 2 sections, Illusionary Perceptions and Enchantment Perceptions. Enchantment perceptions affect the minds of others, influencing them, or controlling their behavior. Illusionary Perceptions deceive the senses or minds of others.
Fighting Styles: Body Techniques, or TaiJutsu. Here you will find martial arts that enhance the body and their natural human abilities. The Fighting Styles Index is divided into 3 sections. 1st is Universal Techniques any user may learn. 2nd are Fighting Styles dedicated to Hand to Hand Combat (such as Boxing, Wrestling, Goutetsu, etc.). 3rd are Fighting Styles dedicated to specific weapons (Sword Fighting, Shield Combat, Mounted Combat, etc.).
Clans: A clan refers to a family, or a group of people who form a unit. This Clan index is open for all members; however some Clans have specific restrictions. Here you will find Clans such as the Akimichi, the Inuzuka, the Yamanaka, and other similar clans.
Bloodlimits: Also known as Kekkai Genkai. Bloodlimits are an anomaly of the DNA that allows the user to wield unique techniques. A person may only have 1 Bloodlimit. Here you will find clans such as the Uchiha, the Hyūga, the Kaguya, and other similar Bloodlimits.
Supplementary Clans: Clans that are not Clans. Supplementary Clans tends to be a broad term for groups that do not belong in NinJutsu, GenJutsu, or TaiJutsu, and yet are not a Clan. These "clans" are groups of people who can perform Techniques dedicated to that Clan. Here you will find Supplementary Clans such as Sensor, and Bard.
A great way of getting to know your village is by getting in touch with your Kage. Some Kages have a plan or a set of missions dedicated to new members to keep them engaged. All Kages have an Orange name. Look in your Village and find the member with the most Sticky threads. Most likely he/she is your Kage.
Join a Thread
Find someone who may be in an Open thread and join them. Be sure to ask them ahead of time through Personal Messages but do not be afraid of engaging. This is a Role-playing site after all.
In our Player's Handbook we have a section on Adventuring. Here you can learn how to create missions and how to get them accepted. Make your own mission if you like and go out and have fun. Do not be afraid to invite a friend to go on a mission with you. Adventuring should be done with multiple people. Earning Ryo is a great way of expanding your equipment.
