Support Issue: Equipment
The Issue: Some armour questions. With a full set of 8 pieces of armour, this would be 5*2+6+4*2+5*2+3 = 37 without special materials to make the armour lighter.
Mithral Tortoise Stance
Rank: "B"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: A technique that makes the user more comfortable to wearing armour.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: The user has become so comfortable in their armour that it is like a second skin to them, and they are capable of moving better than most while wearing it. While in this stance, the user treats armour they are wearing as -3 to their Armour Class, and this stacks with Special Material reduction and general Armour Reduction. Finally, due to the user being stronger from wearing their burden of metal so much, the user moves more freely and gains a +5 Deflection bonus.
Limit: Must be an Armiger. Must have mastered Armiger.
Armour Expert
Rank: "C"
Skill: Combat Trait
Effect: User has worn armour as long as they can remember, either as part of their training to become a knight or simply because they were seeking to emulate a hero.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: User has worn armour as long as they can remember, either as part of their training to become a knight or simply because they were seeking to emulate a hero. User's childhood armour was not the real thing as far as protection, but it did encumber them as much as real armour would have, and they have grown used to moving in such suits with relative grace. When the user wears armour of any sort, reduce the Armour Check penalty by 5 for Might and Agility skills and 1 for Movements. This trait replaces 1 Freebies.
Limit: Must start with Character; replaces 1 Freebies.

The Issue: Some armour questions.
Armour Type: Despite wearing piecemeal armour, a user is considered to be unarmoured until Armour Class is greater than 5, above which point they are considered to be wearing light armour. At 20 Armour Class the character is wearing the equivalent of medium armour, and heavy armour once the pieces have a total Armour Class of 30 points.
Armour Check Penalty: For every 10 Armour Class Points user suffers -5 penalty to Skill Category 2 and Skill Category 5.
Handseals Reduction: For every 10 Armour Class Points user suffers -5 penalty to Handseals.
Movement Reduction: For every 10 Armour Class Points user suffers -1 penalty to Movements.
Armour Check Penalty: For every 10 Armour Class Points user suffers -5 penalty to Skill Category 2 and Skill Category 5.
Handseals Reduction: For every 10 Armour Class Points user suffers -5 penalty to Handseals.
Movement Reduction: For every 10 Armour Class Points user suffers -1 penalty to Movements.
- There are some Armiger techniques that require the wearer to have heavy or medium armour on. i.e. Armoured & Resist. Then there are ways in which a skilled character can act as if their armour is lighter i.e. the master armiger technique Mithral Tortoise Stance where you can treat the armour they are wearing as 3 points lighter for armour class. Am I correct in thinking what matters is the armour class of the actual armour as opposed to how they treat it? So a full set of medium armour at 20 would be treated as 17 by the armiger, so fewer penalties, but also still allow them access to armoured & resist?
- Is it possible to have a piece of armour that has a negative armour point rating, an overview helmet counts as 3 armour points but we have special materials that exceed this, would they be considered the true negative number or merely 0?
- I am of the understanding that the impact that armour has on a character's speed is down to the honour system. I'm interested to know how you would roleplay this and if you would make any differentiation between the armour points that someone is wearing when they are still in the same category. Per the above quote the mechanical impact of armour occurs every 10 points, so would you differentiate between someone wearing say 12 & someone else wearing 18?
- There is a trait that I have quoted below called 'Armour Expert' it reduces the penalties to movements and skills by one increment, which is effectively 10 armour points worth of penalty. Reflecting that they have "grown used to moving in such suits with relative grace". I'm interested to know from an honour perspective whether you would say that all other things being equal my character would be faster in armour with that trait than I would without the trait. Personally I'd say that would be a fair assumption but interested to see the thoughts of others.
