Claire squinted at her Captain warily, unconsciously focusing in with her more advanced eye. What he was saying, it didn't seem to make sense. "What do you mean 'When I don't -' OHGODDAMMIT!!" her interrogation interrupted by a yelp born of surprise and terror. Which quickly gave way to annoyance. Just how the hell did he do that? Absolutely no hint, just them having a polite conversation when suddenly genjutsu.
Really it wasn't fair. But it was also kinda cool. She was going to need to learn how to do that one of these days. In the meantime she was stuck falling down a likely bottomless pit. Well, at least she wasn't going to have to worry about splattering all over some floor. Small consolation really. Even while she suspected it to be another of her Captain's illusions, she couldn't prove it to herself just yet, and so was entirely at the mercy of the technique.
She tried to pierce the illusion with her eyes, view the grassy lawn she was no doubt squirming against as she wailed in reflexive terror. Even as her logical mind tried to circumvent the scenario she was trapped in, her body was reacting in exactly the way one would expect if one were to suddenly fall down a massive pit of almost certain death. Her heart rate was skyrocketing, her breathing was hindered by the imagined positive air pressure, and her eyes burned as if drying out.
She failed however. She could not see beyond the veil of genjutsu that impeded her. Forever seeming to flail screaming into the abyss, she desperately scrambled to try and adjust her trajectory, that she might be capable of grasping onto a wall or some other form of action in order to arrest her falling, but was unable to achieve any sort of seeming with regards to successful action in this instance, which drove her instinctive desperation to new heights.
She flailed in a relatively stationary position as she soared down the pit of infinity, wanting only for it to stop. The pit shimmered to her sight, and her right eye seared as if aflame, but still there was no hope yet for the girl. She was doomed to fall forever if she could not discern some level of ability to escape from the technique, but such a thing seemed to still be just out of her capability to reach for the time being. But if she were to continue falling forever, then she might have all the time in the world to come up with something.
