Shouta kept both of his palms flat against the inside of the dome.

"You little shit! Quit hiding and come fight like a man." Shouta frowned. This was seriously getting aggravating. He was struggling against this one man and there were 10 more after him? This guy was just a simple scythe wielder, and he was sure there were more that had actual ninjutsu techniques. Shouta's frown turned into a scowl. This was not going to turn out good.

He felt the sharp edge of the scythe strike the sand. The sand was compact, but his strike was powerful. He reinforced it with more sand from his gourd. There was a little left, plus the sand that he had used for the wave under his feet. He used the chakra to make the dome more compact where the strike was. Suddenly, he could feel a another sharp strike from the opposite side of the dome. The sand at that part cracked, but it was quickly sealed. How did he get around it so quickly? Damn, this is not good. He let the chakra pulse through his fingers and into the sand dome. He reinforced the area that was just hit, and added sand from the soil conversion. Taking his hands off of it, he prepared to convert more soil.

Letting chakra flow through him, he performed the handseals. He slammed his palm on the ground, grinding more soil up into sand. He let the chakra flow through the ground, grinding it like a mortar and pestle. The more sand he had, the better off he would be. Three more cubed liters were formed under him. He quickly resumed the position of putting his hands on the dome. He added the sand he converted to the dome, making it firmer. There were more strikes, from all around. The Onigami growled. He desperately needed this guy to die a quick death.

Suddenly there was a flurry of powerful strikes at the seven o'clock position. The sand cracked and crumbled, and Shouta flooded that area with restoring chakra and sand. Just when he thought he had sealed it up, one last blow caused the sand to crumble. Chunks of packed, hardened sand flew into the dome, and the reaper guy stood in the newly made door.

"This party is invitation only. You weren't invited" Shouta stated sarcastically, with a bit of anger in him. The man growled and readied his sickle. He suddenly charged at Shouta, but Shouta was prepared. Jumping backwards, he pushed aside the sand that was part of the dome behind him apart, creating a small window. Flipping, Shouta fit through the small window. As soon as he cleared it, he closed it again, his chakra controlling the sand with ease. There was thus a wall of sand between him and his attacker, and his attacker was trapped in the dome. The opening was still there, and he would have to use that to get to Shouta again. That or he could bust through, but there seemed to rational reason for that.

Shouta quickly thought of an attack. Using handseals, he would put his hands on the dome again, this time from the outside. He could hear a muffled grunt of anger from the inside, and he could tell that the reaper was rushing towards the door he created.

"You're not getting out of that prison ALIVE!" yelled Shouta, his voice filled with anger. Shouta would rearrange the sand of the dome so that all the walls were weak. From the very top of the dome, a sand tendril would be formed. It was thin and sharp, and very hard.

As the reaper hustled towards the exit, angry that the boy had escaped so easily, he heard something move from behind him. A pain exploded in his left side, and he spun to the ground. A single tendril, now covered in blood, connected the top of the dome to the ground next to the black dressed man. His scythe was a couple of feet away from his hand, and blood began to soak the ground. Shouta let the dome collapse; sand crumbled everywhere. It covered the bloodied man, sand getting into his wounds.

"Gnnnnnnggg!" cried the reaper man as he stood up. He was covered in sand and blood, and his hood had come down. It revealed a pale man with short black hair. His face was gaunt, and his eyes were dark. He retrieved his scythe from the sand as he clutched his wound.

"You'll pay for that you...little bitch." he said through clenched teeth. He took one step forward, and another, slowly making his way towards Shouta. Shouta smiled. From behind the reaper, the single tendril emerged from the large pile of sand. Suddenly the reaper man charged again, flailing his scythe skillfully. Shouta didn't move, he only controlled.

Using his chakra, he controlled the sand tendril like another limb of his body. The sand tendril whipped behind the reaper, grabbing his right arm. Shouta, grinning, clenched his hand into a fist. The sand tendril did likewise, suddenly crushing the arm. Bicep and tricep ripped, humerus crushed, he cried out in terrible agony.

Shouta woke up from a crazy dream.

The sun shone weakly on the pale ground below. The sky was a pale blue and the clouds dominated the skies. It was getting cold, and Shouta never really liked the cold. He was used to the warm, ocean breeze and the steamy embrace of the jungle. But out here, it was so barren, so cold. Shouta donned a fur lined jacket. He left his small shanty house, ready to train. He walked to the training grounds, giving people angry looks.

Usually a prank children use on each other like a game of tag, but with sparks for a small kick.

Lightning was quick, hard to predict, and powerful. It was an element that Shouta didn't really understand and was slightly afraid of. Lightning, when he as a child, seemed such like a powerful force. For one to have control of this force was, to be honest, a little scary. Could one control it? Shouta was going to find out.

This technique was a gateway for other Raiton techniques. It was simple, but Shouta believed that if he learned this, he would be able to learn more complex jutsu requiring more chakra control. He thus prepared himself. He had the scroll in front of him and memorized the few handseals he would need. He then read that lightning chakra originated from the fingertips and back. It was a flowing chakra, like water, but strong and unpredictable, like fire. He performed the handseals, consciously taking chakra from his back and building it in his fingertips. He was wary to make the chakra flow smoothly, lest he lose control of the lightning he was building up. As negative polarity charges built up in his right fingertip, he coated them with chakra to make sure they didn't seek positive charges right off the back. As he felt like they were built up, he released the chakra coating.

These negative charges immediately wanted to become balanced, and began to seek out positive charges. They were not hard to find. Once they connected, the energy of balance caused a small, blue spark to form at Shouta's fingertips. The air cracked as it was superheated at that point. Shouta looked down as if he was impressed with his fingertips.

Shouta, after having learned the basics of manipulating lightning, became a little more eager to learn the power that comes with manipulating lightning. He had come by another scroll; this one would allow him to create a steady stream of lightning. There were two phases of the technique and Shouta prepared to learn them both. He read over the scroll and set it down upon completion. He remembered what it was like to learn the first technique of lightning: the instant spark, and how to use that knowledge to help him learn this much more advanced jutsu. That technique required a minimal amount of chakra and would cause little to no damage. This one, however, could be used as an actual attack. For Shouta to learn this would be another step towards becoming a more powerful shinobi.

Chakra began to flow through him as he opened up his chakra pores. He would form chakra around his back, near the spinal cord, where it would take on the nature of lightning. Before letting it travel through his body, he would have to perform the handseals. It would unlock the rest of his body for his chakra. He quickly performed the handseals, one after another. Few were needed, and when he was finished, the chakra rushed through him. It could not damage himself, as it had not yet manifested itself as actual lightning, but as soon as he released, he could feel the power it would emanate. He routed the chakra to his fingertips. He would not be able to form up enough power in a single hand to get the chakra to release into lightning, so he would have to use both of his hands. He put them together, allowing the chakra to build up between his two hands. The chakra began to manifest itself not as lightning but as negative particles: the attraction of electrons. This would create a negative charge around his hands. Because opposites attract, positive charges would begin to move towards his hands. As he built up more negative charge, the chakra began to release itself as lightning. Small streams of it began to randomly shoot off, but since they were not powered by the chakra, they were insignificant. As Shouta pulled the final bit of chakra in, he aimed it at his target: a tree. The tree, due to being exactly perpendicular with the negative charge was coated with positive hydrogen ions. The only thing stopping the lightning from flowing was Shouta. He finally released the charges, only letting a few at a time. He created a floodgate that would allow only a small bit of the flood to flow out. The result was a stream of lightning, weak but significant. The tree burst into flames as the energy released from the hydrogen bonds forming created a large amount of heat. Shouta let the chakra flow out into the tree, illuminating the surroundings in a dizzying blue.

Finally there was balance once again, and the lightning stopped. Shouta looked at the mark he had made on the tree: a singular, black, blast radius. He walked over to the still smoldering trunk and pressed his hand against it. It was still hot, and ash collected on his palm and fingertips. Pulling it back, he laughed. Power was coming to him in full force.

The brilliant, dazzling light of lightning would drive fear into the hearts of his opponents. The technique he had just learned was weak: it was not the technique in its full power. He had to learn the basic technique in order to learn this one, but now this was available to him. This one was more powerful, but required more power to be put into it. More negative charges would have to be attracted, and Shouta would have to think about how to do that. For the first time he learned the technique, it was quite acceptable for him to simply attract the electrons to his hand with chakra. He would go out and search for the electrons with his chakra, bring them back to his hand, and use them for his attack. However, there had to be an easier way. Positive charges were much easier to capture. They were much larger, much much larger, which would allow him to capture an exponentially large amount quicker and easier.

With this information, Shouta knew that he could easily receive more positive charges than negative charges. But to create a bolt with positive charges was much harder to manage; the electrons were easier to control than the protons. As such, Shouta hatched an idea. Simply capture protons for the sake of capturing electrons. Since opposites attract, the electrons would flock to him in a much easier manner. And with that, he could use a much larger amount of negative charge to create a much larger bolt. Smiling, he began to build up more chakra near his spinal cord. He performed the handseals and added more onto the handseals he had just learned, and began to let chakra go through his body. Chakra filled his system. This chakra was imbued with the nature of lightning, and would search for particles bearing a polarity charge. He let the chakra build in his right hand as he searched for protons. He found many of them, and collected them in his palm. The positive charge in his palm grew strong, and electrons began to line up. He could have released a stream right here, but it would have been weaker than the previous due to the fact that it was so difficult to control the protons. He, instead, allowed the electrons to come to him. Little by little they came, balancing the charge in his hand. The new charge would be so powerful that he would not need two hands to build up the charge, only his right hand would suffice.

As soon as there was a dense, balanced charge in his hand, Shouta created a mass exodus of protons, creating a massively, negatively charged palm. The expelled protons began to line up on the same tree that he had used previously, creating electrical tension. There was potential for a lightning strike, but Shouta held it back, allowing chakra to build in his palm. This was a catalyst, and with the electrons, would take the form of lightning. Shouta’s hand began to randomly misfire streams of lightning. These were tiny and caused no damage, but the manifestation of the high level of energy caused them. Suddenly, Shouta let a little through, creating a massive stream. The stream hit the tree as quick as lightning, and the tree began to burst into flames. The last time they were small, but this time it put the entire tree in danger of being engulfed in flames. Blue light danced from the lightning and mixed with the red and yellow light of the flame. Shouta let the stream continue, chakra pouring into the stream. The air around the lightning was superheated and expanded suddenly, causing popping noises from the constantly superheated then supercooled gas. Shouta finally ended the technique, running out of protons. There was balance once again, but the amount of energy the lightning had produced was massive: enough to heat the tree into igniting. The leaves had caught fire and now the top of the tree was ablaze. Shouta, not wanting the fire to spread, quickly doused it with a large amount of sand. Releasing a sigh, he was worried that the smoke would attract unwanted attention.

Shouta had learned of a technique that causes that functions much like a flash grenade in athat it is so bright that it disorients those that are around him. He thought it was a golden technique: brilliant for when he needed to escape quickly or when he needed the upper hand when entering a room. However, the technique was a bit odd in that the chakra had to come from his eyes. The flash, which imitated lightning in that it was bright in quick, was to be formed from the eyes. The only problem Shouta had with that is that he didn't want it messing up his Tasukeru. He guessed he would try the technique and hope that it didn't blind him and ruin his kekkei genkai.

He first began to form chakra around his back, where lightning based chakra usually comes from. However, instead of letting it travel to his fingertips, like he had previously, he would allow it to travel up through the brain and into his ocular cavity. Because the chakra had not manifested itself into lightning quite yet, there was no risk of electrical misfirings in his brain due to this technique. He performed the few amount of handseals he needed, allowing chakra to begin to flow through him. It began to fill him, and the necessary amount needed to perform this technique was now securely within his body. He would originate it all from around his back and let it travel up to his eyes.

He would let the chakra build up around his eyes. He kept his eyes closed so that the chakra would not leak out as lightning jutsu. He began to wonder how this chakra would not just become lightning and sizzle off into the air. How was he going to make it a bright flash? Suddenly, he had an idea. He would limit the lightning to a small range between his eye and his eyelid. It would thus form a bright light. He could also use a coating of chakra to make it to where this light would not burn his own retina. Then, when the lightning was built up and all was well, he would open his eyelids and the light would escape through the opening, blinding all within ten meters. It was a good idea in theory...

First, to make sure his eyes were safe, he built up a layer of protective chakra around his eyes. Because the technique was of his own chakra, he had the power to negate it with his own chakra. He closed his eyelids and prepared the chakra. He then let the chakra leak out out of his eyeballs and into the space between his eyelid and his eyeball. It was a small space so even the smallest amount of lightning created a large amount of light. He continued this for a few seconds, allowing the light to build up. To him, though, all he could see was darkness. The lightning finished flowing into the space, and Shouta was ready to perform the technique. Opening his eyes suddenly, the light would rush out. So much light could easily cause dizziness and disorientation, and would blind the eyes for a couple of seconds.

Such a technique was deadly. Within that split second of disorientation, Shouta could easily throw a kunai and end a life. Hopefully that would be the case if this technique was used correctly...

Shouta was done learning academy techniques, it was time to harness the true power of lightning. A sacred scroll, one that had power written all over it, had been retrieved. This technique was technically for Sannin, not for Genin, but Shouta was determined that he could learn such a technique. It was one of the most powerful Raiton techniques in existence, and he was going to learn it. It would take him a while to train, and if there's one thing he learned at the academy, it was that Rome wasn't built in a day. The technique would take a little bit of time to train. So he found himself a good spot under a tree with some time to think and began to plan.

He began to think the technique over first and what it would entail. It incorporated having huge thunderclouds overhead. A thunderstorm would be necessary, but the fact of the matter was that all the lightning that was built up in the clouds would be released in a single, steady stream. The lightning would be forty meters in diameter, and destroy everything in its path. Shouta literally swooned at the thought of having such power at the tips of his fingers. This was nothing like he had ever created before. Sure he had some impressive sand techniques, but the raw power that this single technique held would put all of those to shame.

Now learning this technique would have to be broken down. First he would have to learn how to conjure up a thunderstorm. He guessed that it would take a massive amount of chakra to do so. He took a deep breath at the thought, steadying himself. He then, after creating the storm, would have to figure out a way to increase the electromagnetic tension between the ground and the clouds. This would be simply by stopping all of the lightning that would occur in the thunderstorm. He would do this by keeping the particles in the cloud perfectly balanced so that the negatives weren't attracted to the positives. He would then have to find a way to focus it on a single area so that the lightning did not suddenly go crazy and thrash everywhere. It would have to be very controlled, or it could very easily get out of hand.

He assumed that there would be unforseen issues, there's no way he would be able to perfect the technique on the first try. Plus, this wasn't the type of technique that one could just try over and over and eventually get it. No, the problems that he would encounter would have to be fixed if he wanted to move on. He had to have a mindset of a scientist or an engineer, if there were any problems, he would have to troubleshoot the problem, think about it, and then solve it. That's the only way he could move on and learn the entirety of the technique.

Lightning usually struck at something that stuck above ground level, so it was like going against the grain for it to strike directly into the ground. Controlling that much raw power was going to cost Shouta a ton of chakra. But he could do this. The power this would bring would be unbearable to his enemies. They would kneel in terror. Shouta smiled. It was time to get learning.

Shouta looked up at the blackening sky. More clouds were rolling in. The chakra had taken effect and now it was building a chain reaction of actual electrostatic particles. Only a fraction of what was up there was Shouta's actual chakra creations. There was no way he would be able to recycle it now, so he decided to just leave it up there. Thunder followed flashes of light. Shouta frowned, he would have to stop that somehow. He remembered back to when he was planning the technique and how he had planned on stopping the lightning and build up the polarity.

Whenever lightning shot off, the polarity difference of electrostatic particles would be balanced because lightning is just simply a current from a negative charge from a positive charge. The ampere of the current was extremely strong that it gave off incredible heat. The incredible, sudden heat was what made lightning so powerful. If he was to harness such power in a single technique then he would have to find a way to make that heat constant. He could only do this by building an incredible electrostatic polarity difference in the clouds and in the ground. When lightning naturally occurred, the positive charges in the clouds would rise to the top and the negative charges would fall to the bottom. The ground's positive charges would then line up with the negative charges in the clouds. This created a large polarity difference. Because energy doesn't naturally like polarity differences, lightning was nature's way of balancing thing out. If Shouta wanted to recreate this natural phenomenon he would have to build a huge polarity difference between the clouds and the ground.

Any second now the cloud's electrostatic particles would begin to line up and lightning would occur between the ground and the cloud. Lightning could also occur from cloud to cloud, and that was another phenomenon that Shouta would have to stop to build up the polarity. He thought about how to do this, and there were multiple ways. The first one that came to mind was surronding the clouds with a large amount of chakra that interfered with the polarity difference. It would cost a lot of chakra but at the same time it would stop the clouds from conducting lightning from other clouds. It would also stop lightning from coming down and striking down. But as Shouta scanned the sky and looked at the large number of huge clouds, he knew that this wasn't a viable option. The only other thing that he could think of was to jumble up the electrostatic charges with his chakra so that it was all even. The polarity would cease to exist and lightning would no longer form.

If he did this then it would be rather simply to allow them to naturally line up again. The polarity could only increase as more electrostatic particles came into play. He realized that he would have to gather all of the particles from the entirity of the clouds and smash them into one cloud. It would take a ridiculous amount of chakra, but he saw that it was the only way. Sighing, he knew the effects of over consumption of chakra, and he hated experiencing them. But, if he was in a fight, this technique would end the game surely. It was worth it. Breathing deeply, he smelled the storm. Breathing in this renewed energy, he readied his chakra and began to work..
