Chapter 1:[/b] The Cave
Within the Land of Sound, a land fabled for it's healthy, thriving, rice fields, lies a dark history of anger and oppression not recognised as common knowledge to the rest of the world. This is of course because this history has long since been forgotten, the events occurring long before the time of the modern shinobi, before knowledge was given freely and before freedom was a god given right to all men. In a time of oppression under high kings, a time of ancient war, magic once reigned before the modern science identified reasoning behind these arts, and man waged war with the gods wielding it like a child taking up his fathers sword, clumsily lashing out with the blade, dangerously thrusting it in every direction.
In these times man tried to take rule over death, in these times man tried to become immortal, in these times man was thrown down by the gods, destroyed by their awesome might, the little knowledge of the universe they had acquired being destroyed with them, but there was one man whom survived. There was one man who fooled the gods and stole the power of immortality from them though at a terrible cost. The life he lead was a disturbed one, his body became something else other than human and he was feared and forced into the mountains away from society, outcast. His name was forgotten and his existence became legend.
Sightings of this man turned monster have been reported irregularly over the past centuries, likened to the abominable snow man many people just assumed it was just hearsay, the imagination of travelers gone wild. Some have said they have seen him flying in the skies like an angel of death, other say he slumps along the ground like a lizard, a long tail dragging along behind him. The most recent of these sightings refers to the former and the scuttlebutt around the Sound Village is that he has taken residence within a cave known as Death's Den, a cave well known for people going inside but never coming back out. Shinobi have already tried to investigate this rumor and have ventured inside a few days before Shouta's predicted arrival on the scene but none have returned so far; their fate is unknown...
