[/size]The sky was a light blue; clouds hovering past one another, sheperded by the wind. Leaves rustled from their homes in the branches of the various trees, and for the most part, the forested area outside of Konoha was quiet. That is, for that pocket of time. Moments later, a terrified squeak broke the heavy silence. Below the loosely separated canopy, a black pelted squirrel ran erractically through the underbrush. Its eyes were wide, and it seemed so spooked by something that it didn't even have the sense of mind to scamper up a tree. Instead, it continued running until it was trapped by the overgrown reaches of a root-- turned back quickly, stumbled over itself, and took a few precious seconds to right itself before taking off again.
What could possibly make a creature so senseless that it would forget all natural, instinctual survival habits? Perhaps, just maybe, it was the kunoichi racing along in the footsteps of the mammal. Her arms were stretched out behind her, fingers loose in their leather-and-steel gloves. A lemon mane blew back behind her, mussed with the speed of her race; several decorative ties flapping against her shoulder and face. In contrast, the chocolate-hued skin, all enclosed in a much-too revealing white outfit. Despite the size of her chest, which bounced along with her, she managed at a break-neck pace from her years of training to be a shinobi.
Catlike, emerald occuli narrowed on the dark animal as it halted to pick a new course. These were the moments she needed to take its capture into her own hands; her heart rate increased as she let loose a yell, starting the squirrel and awarded by another squeak. It tripped over itself and barrel-rolled into another of the outstretched roots, effectively trapping it and leaving it in a daze. The kunoichi, on the other hand, flashed a poud grin -- but did not stop to gloat. No, she still had something to do. Sliding to a halt in front of the squirrel, she reached down with quick fingers and plucked it from the forest floor.
Finally, it seemed to be regaining a bit of its senses. When it felt her fingers enclose around its throat, it bared its elongated teeth and made a noise that she could only assume was a threat. Then, without much warning, it snapped at her arm. Luckily, she was able to extend it away from her, and managed not to stop the struggling creature. Careful of its gnashing jaws, she squirmed her other hand closer, and situated her first grasp into a more comfortable hold. A squeeze later, the animal went limp, losing air. If it continued to struggle, it wouldn't be able to breath correctly. As long as it stayed still .. it had a slim chance of survival.
"..Not." She whispered, her grin widening. The secondary hand moved backward, and curled into a half-fist, that beheld her nails more like claws than anything. An ominous purple glow started to curl, in whisps, about the slender digits-- seeming to snake toward the breathing mammel before it, but never touching. It sensed the danger in this glow, but was paralyzed in its own fear. Kaoruko just took a deep breath, and plunged her hand forward. Fingertips came in contact, and within seconds, the cells around them started to die off and deteriorate. The squirrel managed one last screech, before its eyes dilated and it fell limp in her grasp.
