Sand glowed golden reflecting the sun’s rays. The air was dry and carried small sand particles that got swept by the desert wind. This was home, this was all Lei knew, all he remembered. Dry air was fresh air, sand was grass. It’s what Shinobi’s of sand thrive for. Lei stood outside of the village gates awaiting a companion to join him, Ijin. They had only met a couple of days ago, but fate matched the two together for this particular mission. Lei would run through the details once Ijin had arrived. Even though they had already been briefed on it, Lei wanted to do a little recap.
Tan cargo shorts were held up by a white belt at the boys’ waist. The belt however was hidden, covered up by an orange shirt. Its color matched the sand short of. Gripped in his right hand was the boys’ rare white wooden bow. It was recently given as a gift. On his back was a quiver filled with only ten arrows. Few, but his accuracy was always on point in training. This mission would be his first test if worse came to reality. His heart hoped violence wouldn’t determine the outcome of this mission. At age ten he didn’t believe he had it in his heart to kill.
