Ikki read through the Mission details and then at the bottom of the envelope he found the actual recipe. it was a very old piece of parchment rolled up and tied together with a ribbon. Ikki handled it carefully, the paper looked very fragile. Ikki put it back in the envelope, Ikki deposited the envelope into a pocket on the inside of his plain ninja vest and then set off for the gate.
Ikki walked through town slowly, this was only a "D" Ranked Mission and he didn't expect anything to happen to him while he delivered the Recipe to the cook at the edge of town. Ikki walked through town and noticed that it was market day today, there were multitudes of people milling about in front of hundreds of small street stores. The streets were filled with people, Ikki made sure to keep one hand on his breast where the pocket that contained the recipe was, just in caseanyone dcided to try and pick his pocket.
Ikki finally came to where Market Day became really popular, the huge square that was only a few streets over from the Kage tower. Ikki saw that there were rows and rows of street vendors who had set up their stores that morning, there were many people milling about here. Ikki walked down, hand still on his breast and looked around at all of the wares that were being sold.
Ikki noticed something strange as he walked down a particular row that would lead him to the other side of the square and thus the end of his journey. Ikki noticed that on the other side of the row he was in there were a bunch of men walking together. They were all dressed in white robes with great white hats and red aprons. But that wasn't the weirdest part, the weirdest part of the men was that they were all staring very intently at Ikki.
They didn't even bother to look forward to see where they were going, the it seemed to Ikki that the crowd just moved away as they came near. Ikki started to hurry his pace slightly, guessing what these men wanted from him. Ikki reached the end of the square and kept going through smaller streets now. Ikki saw that the men had followed him into the streets.
Ikki hurried his pace even more now, and the men did the same to match his speed. He looked back to see where they were and suddenly met with a wall of force that knocked him on his back. Ikki looked up to see out outstretched arm from behind a wall. The arm moved and Ikki saw it belonged to a huge man who was smoking a cigar.
Ikki hopped up and backed away, only to hear the noises of swords escaping from sheaths. He turned to see the men who were following him were all holding large knives. Ikki spun around and around, looking at each party until they surrounded him and back him into a wall. The one with the cigar spoke.
"Kid! Give us that recipe!" He yelled.
"What recipe?" Asked Ikki, playing dumb.
"The one thats in the secret pocket on your vest. That one!" The man yelled again, shifting his cigar over.
"Oh that one. Well you can;t have it. I have to deliver it to someone."
"We don't care about that! We want that recipe now!" The man yelled.
Ikki nodded "Okay, I'll give it to you and you let me go on my way, okay?"
The men around him smiled. "I guess you've never known cooks before have you kid? NO, you can give it to us and we'll kill or. Or we'll kill you and then take it from your dead body." The man said, pulling out a huge machete from his belt.
Ikki gulped and his hands instantly shot down into his pockets. Each hand grasped something Metal and with four holes. Ikki slipped his fingers into the holes and then brought his hands out of his pockets. He awkwardly pointed at the leader and spoke.
"You go first." Ikki said. He shifted into the Boxer Stance and got ready. The man laughed and charged at him. He swung his machete down and Ikki blocked it with his Brass Knuckles. The boy stood there, in a power struggle with this man until he finally won out, pushing the man backwards and making him stumble away.
Ikki took his chance and rushed forward. He grabbed the man by his geasy shirt with his right hand and with his left hand he came forward and knocked the man in his jaw. Ikki punched in again, this time slightly higher up in his teeth. Then finally once more in his nose. The man spit out three teeth, and blood burst from his nose as he slid to the ground.
Then Ikki was off, he grabbed another man and used the rolling throw he had learned today to send him flying into three other men. Ikki quickly counted the men left, there were seven more for Ikki to trounce before he could get going again , he moved down the line. The next thug swung a cleaver at him a few times, Ikki dogded and rushed forward, hitting the man once in the stomach and then bringing his knee up to meet the man's chin.
Ikki moved to the next and the next. Taking each one out in turn, their knives fell to the ground as their bodies slumped over. Ikki faced the last man, he spun around a kitchen knife thrust and jumped up using the wall. He came down and kicked the man hard on the shoulder. He landed and jumped off of him. Ikki surveyed the carnage he had wrought. When one of the men started to get up, Ikki hightailed it out of there.
The boy reached the gates and saw an old man waiting there. He had traveled from his small village outside of the Sand Village to the gates to wait for the delivery. Ikki walked up to the old man who thanked him very cordially for delivering his most prized recipe. Ikki smiled and headed back to the Tower.
