Ikki was finsihed with the Mission to rescue the young boy from the well, and the next Mission he was to do invloved catching a Thief. Ikki read over the envelope and walked back to the Kage Tower. He spoke to a few ANBU who gave him a list of places where they thought the Thief might steal from next. Ikki listened intently and made a mental list of all the places the ANBU detailed for him.
Hours later, the Village was dark. The stars were above Ikki in the big sky of the Sand Village. He looked around the village, straining and squinting his eyes to see as far as he could. Ikki stood on the top of one of the Village's tallest buildings. He waited and watched for the Thief to start moving. When he did, Ikki would follow him and then catch im in the act of pilfering goods. Then Ikki would capture him and bring him to the Kage Tower where he would think things over in jail.
Ikki leaned over to rest his arms and his head on the railing, the only thing that was keeping him from falling off the building. He was tired, but he would catch this Thief no matter what. Ikki suddenly heard a crash and then the tinkling of broken glass falling on a hard surface. Ikki perked up and stood up, he looked around and did not see anything, then he looked down. There was a balcony below him and on the balcony someone must have broken a window because there were loads of glass shards splayed out across the concrete.
Ikki took a breath and jumped over the railing, he landed near the glass but made sure he didn't land on any glass and make his presence known to whoever was inside. Ikki crouched down and pulled his brass knuckles from his pockets and slipped them on his hands. Ikki walked towards the broken window and decided that stepping on the glass would be too risky. He used the art of Shunshin to move quickly enough through the broken glass and appeared inside the room.
Then Ikki stopped. He held his breath and his mind raced. How could a person brake a window from the outside, yet not have any glass fall into the room? Ikki let out his breath and turned around quickly. There was a man standing across the street on the building that faced the one Ikki was standing in. The man was tall, Ikki couldn't see his face, but he saw that the man had his arms folded. Ikki could also see that the man had a long scarf on that was very long and was blowing behind him in the wind.
Ikki pointed and ran towards the open window. The took a great step and got one foot on the railing of the balcony, then he brought his other foot forward in a great leap. The street wasn't very long and Ikki had jumped longer distances. The boy flew through the air and the man turned to run. Ikki yelled at him to stop, the man didn't listen. Ikki landed on the roof and gave chase.
The man was slow, even with the head start Ikki was able to catch up to him, when Ikki was close enough, he slid across a gravel covered roof and tripped the man up. The man fell over and from his arms popped a small sack. It opened up and Ikki saw it was filled with silverware. Ikki garbbed the man and the man started to resist, with his Brass Knuckles, Ikki punched him in the stomach, effectively knocking him out.
Ikki picked him up, the sack of silverware, and then made his way to the Kage Tower. On this high up roof, Ikki could see it.
