Sitting on the bed in my room, I sighed. More training, even if this one was easier. Simple bandaging technique, I thought. I picked up the branch i had brought in for practice off my bed, then placed it on the table in front of me. I had chosen a long, thick branch probably 3 inches across. I then stood up and walked to the sink. Grabbing a bowl, I set it under the faucet and turn on the flow. Cold water splashed into the bowl slowly, and I filled it up nearly to the brim.
Heading back to my bed with the bowl, I set it down next to the wood. Cracking my knuckles in my usual habit, i took a few deep breath and imagine what I wanted to happen. A small bandage of water, just two inches wide, on the the table solid enough to wrap around the branch. Placing my hands over the water, I focused my chakra down into the water, feeling my way around. I felt like I was getting somewhere, but all of a suddenly the water exploded up and around my room, soaking myself, the table, and my bed. Pissed, I got up and refilled the bowl, placing it back on the table.
Attempting the same technique over and over many times, I spent hours trying to get the bandage to slither out. Eventually I was able to get the bandage to start forming, but for hours I was soaked in water, walking between my sink and the table with that damned bowl. Luckily I reside on the bottom floor of my apartment, for surely i would have had more than a few complaints of water leaking through the floor.
About three hours after that first attempt, I realize that my table had a layer of water across it. It sparked an idea. What if I just used that layer as the start, theoretically cutting out a strip of bandage. I placed my hands over the table, focusing chakra down and into the water for what seemed like the thousandth time. I watched as a strip of water seemed to separate from the rest, slowly forming what looked to be a transparent cloth the length of the table and maybe two inches wide.
I grinned in success, peeling the bandage of off the table and carefully wrapping it around the branch, testing to see if it slipped around when grabbed or hit. It didn't. I was ecstatic. Looking around though, I realized I had plenty more work to do. I groaned, then stood up and walked to my closest, grabbing my mop and bucket, ready for another span of "training."
