Birth Country: Kaze no Kuni

Secondary Items:
Kunai (Overview) x14
Combat Knife (Overview) x2

Personality: Kuroryu has a pretty straightforward personality. He likes to fight, that much is clear. To him fighting is not only the ultimate exercise for the body, but a test of one’s mind and spirit.
His main belief is that in order to master every bit of the potential capability of the mind, one must first master their own body to its fullest extent. He takes this belief to heart, thus puts himself through some of the hardest training regiments available either in the form of an instructional manual or a dojo.
Every morning he does a wake-up exercise consisting of 1000 push-ups, 1000 pull-ups and 30 laps around the entire village. At night he does the same exercise before going to bed. Since he spends time training at the academy, as soon as he gets out he runs home. He divides the days accordingly; odd days of the month he lifts 100 lb. dumbbells for 3000 reps to condition his body for punching, even days of the month he lifts 200 lb. dumbbells for 1000 reps to build the muscles in his arms.
He does a similar workout with his legs, which includes leg lifts and a bizarre workout where he stands on his hands and slowly kicks his legs up in the air, which are both attached to 200 lb. weights wrapped around his calves and shins. He hooks his legs onto the pull-up bar and does 3000 upside-down sit-ups, to make his abdominal muscles stronger. He does bench presses to expand the muscles in his chest. He is currently looking for a way to strengthen his back.
People call him a body-builder for obvious reasons, he even takes vitamins and calcium supplements to strengthen his bones.
All of this he does to be the best there is. When it comes to others, he doesn’t expect them to be doing the same workouts or even understand why he works so vigorously. While he does much to improve his own condition, he always goes out of his way to help others who are struggling in a dojo or a gym. He thinks that everyone is equal and there should be no strong ruling the weak.
Instead, the strong are there to protect the weak and make them stronger. He hates it when people bully those weaker than them, for any reason. When he was just an academy student he was constantly bullied and beaten by stronger students. He goes out of his way to beat down the bullies and offer a hand to those who are being bullied.
He never gloats over victories, because a fight is supposed to be a test of mind, body and soul between two or more people, not a way of putting yourself above others. He fights to defend the weak, even if it means his death. He wants to devote his study of martial arts to Muay Thai, for the most part. He does have interests in other fighting styles, especially Krav Maga.
Appearance: His head is oval shaped, bald and he wears a black mask over the lower portion of his face, covering his mouth and slightly covering his nose. His eyes are small, brown and slightly triangular. When he takes his mask off (only for Muay Thai), his mouth his like a narrow slit in his face, his lips barely visible. His nose is fairly square, yet not that big.
His arms are well-toned with muscle, yet these muscles are very tight because he does not let them develop and keeps constantly lifting weights. He possesses a rock-hard six-pack abdomen and broad pectoral muscles.
He wears a black muscle shirt, black, elastic air pants with a drawstring, wrappings around the wrists, hands and ankles and black shinobi sandals.
His skin is slightly tan with no blemishes but he has a scar going across his face, from the upper left portion going down diagonally all of the way to his neck.
When he is doing Muay Thai he wears a pair of black, elastic shorts going down to his knees with red kanji written on the legs. He also wears a white Mongkon (headband) with the Sunagakure symbol colored red. He always takes off his mask when doing Muay Thai. Strangely enough, he doesn't wear any Pong Malai (flower-wreaths) around his neck. He does wear the standard Thai Boxing gloves, which are black and made of cushioned leather.
Background
Childhood Arc:
Kuroryu was born in Sunagakure, born to a single father, his mother disappearing after childbirth. His father was a renowned Taijutsu master, with connections to dojo’s of various martial arts throughout Sunagakure.
When Kuroryu was a child he was constantly beaten down by stronger kids, which always ended up with his father’s words, “When those punks decide to beat you down, you gotta get back up and fight, no matter how bad the situation is. If you show them you’re tough enough to handle yourself, they won’t see picking on you as fun anymore. If you keep getting up and giving it all you got they’ll run out of energy and then there’s your opportunity to beat them down.” With those words constantly being drilled into his mind he began beating up the kids who once thought he was fun to mess with, to which his father smiled with pride, “That’s my boy!”
One day as he was walking to the academy, he saw two strong kids trying to intimidate a smaller child into giving them all his money from the job he held for his parents. Kuroryu was disgusted and flew into a rage, beating the bullies’ noses into the dirt. When the younger kid thanked him, it felt indescribable, the happiness he felt because he protected a weaker and innocent child.
The academy instructors noticed that there was less and less of a bullying problem because of one child who acted as an enforcer of the peace. He would drag to the instructors bully after bully, battered and bruised, reporting on their misbehavior. Of course, the instructors told him not to be so ruthless with these bullies, but he didn’t listen, and soon they got reports from the parents of the bullies. So they went to talk to his father.
When Kuroryu was summoned by his father, expecting punishment, he was pleasantly surprised to see that his father wasn’t going to punish him, though he would have a talk with him about violence. His father taught him about many things, mostly about how to avoid violence, that violence was only a last resort. But he winked and told him, “But there’s nothing wrong with simply intimidating them.”
This inspired Kuroryu, who was ten years old, to start his own dojo. He taught the younger and weaker kids how to fight, but always gave them the lesson his father gave him; violence is a last resort. Kuroryu became a hero among the younger population of academy students. But his dojo wasn’t the only thing happening with the academy students; a bully began crawling the streets, but he wasn’t an academy student. He was a Genin, named Dakuboru. Dakuboru was a ruthless one, literally beating kids senseless just for his own amusement.
Dakuboru deliberately mutilated the youngest, weakest child in the academy and had intimidated him into covering up the truth to the academy instructors, just to make Kuroryu come out and fight him. The young child came to Kuroryu, begging for help, this was when Kuroryu told this child a secret that must only be used as a last resort against that kind of bully. Kuroryu, with the help of the other academy students, tracked down Dakuboru on the streets. Dakuboru wasn’t alone; he had gathered every single bully that Kuroryu had beaten into the dirt, thirsting for revenge. The academy students who Kuroryu protected charged in to fight the bullies that once beat them, leaving only Dakuboru. Kuroryu fought and gave it his all, constantly getting up and fighting back. But the superior Genin beat Kuroryu down into a bloody mess.
Dakuboru got cocky, and began to target the young child he had so ruthlessly beaten to arouse Kuroryu’s attention. He loomed over the child ominously, but the child wasn’t afraid. As Dakuboru laughed at him, he threw his hardest haymaker at Dakuboru. He punched Dakuboru straight in the nuts, claiming it was the secret move his friend and protector Kuroryu taught him. Dakuboru fell to the ground, and the academy students soon gathered around the bully and pinned him down. Kuroryu rose to stand and shoved a rotten carrot in Dakuboru’s mouth.
Dakuboru’s Genin teammates and their Jonin sensei found him, and demanded an explanation. The youngest boy had walked up to them, battered and bruised, and told them Dakuboru beat him senseless. Dakuboru made his mistake by saying, “I’ll end you, you little bitch!” Thus proving that he had in fact beaten the youngest and weakest academy student in Sunagakure, the Jonin sensei stripped Dakuboru of his rank and punished him accordingly.
Kuroryu was now the hero of Sunagakure Ninja Academy, but as time went by, the kids he defended grew stronger, able to defend themselves, and slowly but surely Kuroryu’s protection wasn’t needed, thus ending his reputation and opening a new age of hope and peace. Kuroryu would have it no other way.
Genin Arc: Kuroryu’s father had long disappeared on a mission he was given as a request from the Kazekage. Kuroryu was now twelve years old, and constantly working his body to get stronger every day. He made it his goal that when his father returned, he would impress him and make him proud with his new strength.
He knew his father was doing fine as his father had sent him gifts, such as martial arts instructional manuals, new workout equipment, etc. He had graduated the academy and was now a Genin, yet he wasn’t assigned a team yet. The kids who he once defended were now his age, they too became Genin.
He had barely passed, only able to master the academy’s basic Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Kenjutsu. He excelled far into Taijutsu, thus the teachers concluding he had no talent with anything else but Taijutsu, yet they did notice he was able to mold small amounts of chakra, giving them the thought that he might be able to sunder the 8 Celestial Gates. When not on missions he would be attending a dojo training in universal Taijutsu.
He would soon move on to a Muay Thai ring and train there. In addition to all of the exercise he did per day, he would do all of the exercise taught at the ring, working hard to earn good grades. He has taken a liking to shadow boxing and does this in his spare time when there’s nobody to spar with. He would soon be practicing frontward, backward and downward elbow strikes, high kicks, roundhouse kicks, crescent kicks, knee strikes and the like. He did struggle with the clinch and neck wrestling, but he still worked hard, giving him the praise of the ring’s kru muay.
But life wasn’t about to get much easier. Rumors circulated around the Genin, that Dakuboru became a missing ninja, and people who saw him last said he was seen lurking the streets, fingers pressed together as if plotting his revenge. People had remembered Kuroryu, and hoped one day Kuroryu would step up and defend his comrades again against the now missing ninja. Of course, with Kuroryu’s training he didn’t have time to prepare for Dakuboru’s revenge, thinking he would only confront him honestly and with all of his might.
Soon his father’s gifts stopped coming altogether, and he desires to find him but can’t as he has duties to his village and his Muay Thai ring.

Kunai (Overview) x14
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 2 per Slot, Combative, Projectile/Melee, Knife
Effect: A digging tool, a bit like a trowel. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Also used as a knife.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: The kunai is conventionally wrought in ranges from 6 to 8 inches, with the average at 7 inches. The kunai was used by common folk as multi-purpose gardening tools and by workers of stone and masonry. The kunai is not a knife, but something more akin to a crowbar. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Normally only the tip would have been sharpened. The uses to which a kunai was put would have destroyed any heat-treated and sharpened tool like a knife. There could be multiple kinds of kunais such as handless ones, or even double sided kunais as long as they are within the same length.
