Puzzled and irritated, Ken couldn't believe that such an simple task could be this difficult. Debating on a new method once again, Ken sighed deeply as he realized the foolish error he had made.
"Despite the Bug Clone Technique being successful, it was pointless. The kikaichu won't attack their own, even if it is a clone..."
Looking up towards the sky, Ken's eyes always seemed to venture there when we wanted to escape. The current problem was something that couldn't be solved through simple solutions, and due to his father being gone, he had no one to train with. His mother was always working at the shop, and Ken was the only human soul in the Harukaze Meadows, or so he thought. Ken's ear twitched as he heard the grass crumble around him, something lurking without his acknowledgment. Awakening from his dream state, Ken observed the tree behind him, noticing nothing unusual. However, Ken's sense of awareness was abnormal, and Ken could guarantee that someone else was amongst him. Ken remained seated, faking his curiosity as he disabled the Bug Clone technique, returning the kikaichu to his body. Ken knew that the noise originated from near the Harukaze Tree's side, so he sent a few kikaichu to investigate. Observing the tree a few moments later, Ken saw nothing but the luxurious scenery behind it. However, Ken continued to analyze it, and witnessed one of his kikai crawling up what appeared to be an invisible object. Silent and suspicious, Ken allowed the kikaichu swarm around him to stir, realizing that his mind was being tampered with.
"Sound, but no vision...this is obviously an illusion..."
Returning to his normal position, Ken smirked as he realized the perfect opportunity granted to him. With his back to the Harukaze Tree as before, Ken performed the two handseals once again, trying vastly not to spook the trespasser. A single foot-sized swarm floated above his open palm again, anxious to suck every single inch of chakra from the being.
Ken concentrated, as the ball of kikaichu waited impatiently for his command. Ken did not want to fail for a third time, and if the trespasser had an intention to kill, then Ken would be at an disadvantage if the swarm missed. Allowing his chakra to feed the sphere, Ken breathed in, and decided it was time. Remembering the position of the kikaichu on the invisible being's body, Ken estimated where the head of the being would be, assuming that both Ken and his enemy were the same height. Being capable of such analysis was the result of an intelligent mind, in which Ken was praised for at the Academy.
Without hesitation, at the crunch of another grass patch, Ken jumped forward, his body twisting in the mid-air as he pushed the spiraling swarm toward the tree's side. Ken's distance from the tree was barely a few meters, and at the speed the spiraling swarm was traveling, dodging it would be solely dependent upon Ken's accuracy. However, this was not a problem, because just as Ken suspected, the swarm suddenly impacted with an unknown entity, that remained invisible. The being moaned and yelped with pain as the kikaichu swallowed its face whole. Ken drew a kunai, refusing to allow the trespasser to make a move. Ken had successfully performed the Blinding Bug Burst Technique, but there was no time for celebration.
