[OOC] I've made this my training thread, and the other thread I'm in just for RP.
[10|20]
Tsuci Senpuku no Jutsu (Earth Secreting Technique)
Rank: C - B
Skill: Genjutsu
Effect: Creates a false field of dust to cover the ground.
Special: Handseals
Drawback: Is only chakra, can be seen through by some doujutsu.
Description: When the genjutsu begins, a dust cloud appears to be swirling outward from the user, blanketing any ground with a thick coverage of dust that totally obscures vision up to 12 inches. This can be hidden under or clones can be used in conjunction with this technique to make finding the real user in a group of clones more difficult.
At the B rank, it completely submerges the field 6 feet deep in false dust that only the user is able to see through.
At both ranks it reaches a range of 20 meters + 5 per rank above D the user possesses.
Limit: Must know the Figment Perception, Must be Genjutsu Specialist
After the run-in with that strange Xela girl, Chiro was eager to get back to his training. He returned to the open field that was just a five minute walk south-west of his apartment. The sun was a bright, burnt orange color as it began its' slow decent under the horizon. Not that Chiro mined the dark, but he didn't want to be out here for too much longer. 'I understand the basics of the Jutsu, let's work on refining it.' The thought bounced around in his mind as he began to focus chakra. But, how much chakra was actually needed? Thanks to having lived with the kikaichu for nearly his entire life, Chiro had a much larger chakra supply when compared to a shinobi of similar prowess. Also, he possessed much greater chakra control than other shinobi. With these things in mind, he set out to perfect this jutsu.
'Alright, let's get this started.' He formed the handseals needed to activate the jutsu, focusing on the speed he could make them, rather than on the actual seas themselves. Chiro stopped right before forming the last seal, determined to be faster. He released the chakra, then gathered it again. Once more he formed the seals, pushing himself to make them faster. Again he did this, and one more time after that. Satisfied his sealing was both fast and accurate, he then focused on the amount of chakra he gathered.
First, Chiro gathered a relatively small amount of chakra. He surmised this would probably not lead to a successful casting of the jutsu, but it was much easier to gauge chakra consumption with small increases than with small decreases. Again he formed the handseals, continuing to make the quickly and with accuracy (because jammed fingers from improper sealing could be a real hazard on the battlefield). Then he released the chakra, wondering what the result would be.
To his surprise, the Genjutsu was indeed cast, but it was impossibly slow. Not only this, but the dust did not really swirl about him, it mostly just hovered and didn't behave as dust should at all. Chiro cancelled the jutsu and began from scratch, but gathered about one and a half times the amount of chakra he had previously used. The kikaichu were restless as he formed the handseals. The bugs desperately wanted to move about, to be used, and most of all, to devour chakra. It was impossible to satiate their vast hunger. 'Relax...' Chiro thought as he released the chakra to observe the new effects. 'After this I'll get to sleeping so you can have more of my chakra. And tomorrow I'll train with you all. Maybe do some hunting.' At the thought of new chakra, the bugs stirred like mad. It was a very good thing Chiro wasn't ticklish. In other news, the larger chakra added to the jutsu had a much better effect. The dust traveled outward from his current location at a much faster rate. A little more chakra and it would be at the best speed.
However, it still didn't swirl the way Chiro wanted it. Maybe if he tried something different with the chakra this time. For a third time he gathered chakra. This time however, he added a small amount to it, making the total about one and three-quarters the original amount he used. In addition to this, he attempted to add a spin to the chakra itself. He pictured it swirling around him in a counter-clockwise manor, and the chakra adopted this aspect. Again he flew through the required seals (still no jammed fingers), and released the chakra.
This time the dust moved with speed and swirl. It reached the maximum range in an acceptable amount of time, and reached the maximum height at about the same time it's maximum range was reached. However, the swirl was off. Off being a polite, gentle way of saying it. Within the dust mini tornadoes were forming, and near the edge of the dust appeared what looked like a small hurricane. Clearly the spin on the chakra was a little too much. Chiro sighed, releasing the jutsu. The sun was below the treeline, and fireflies began to dance around the edge of the forest. Once more, with feeling this time.
Chakra.
Seals.
Less spin than before.
A release, and perfection. The jutsu looked magnificent. It swirled correctly, it moved at an appropriate speed for dust, and if Chiro could taste it, he was almost sure it would taste like dust. For an extra added measure, he sent a large group of kikaichu out from his legs, under the cover of the Genjutsu dust. He imagined a frightening enemy standing in the midst of his mini dust storm. When suddenly, from both the left and the right, a wave of kikaichu appeared and crashed into the foe.
Of course, the bugs actually just crashed into each other, which drew very unpleasant images for Chiro. He smirked, and recalled the little buggers. Turning on his heel, he walked out of the clearing and back to his apartment.
