The tower left in the distance, Aaron followed the directions through the bustling streets. The lower district stood the same as always, the people going about their day. Along one of the winding roads he saw a well dressed individual move with his head held high, brushing off the dust every few steps as if it were beneath him to be in this section.
Aaron fought back his anger and the bitterness, knowing that his clan once stood in the Upper District, the elite of the village. But that had been in ages past. Walking past the man, Aaron fired a small bee at the man's neck, stinging him and causing a giant welt. An evil grin lit up Aaron's face as he continued to his destination.
Cynical and angry, Aaron's bitterness had interwoven itself within him now, the Chuunin Exams the source of his hell. And yet he still tried to complete them, hence why he found himself now at the massive construction site.
The massive perimeter showed how big this job would actually be. In the distance the mansions of the upper echelon of society could be seen. A place he would one day command. Still his focus needed to be on the here and now. Dozens of construction workers moved skillfully about the piles of materials, laying markers and measuring. It seemed he found the right spot.
Meandering through the bulging biceps of the workers carrying massive slabs of stone, Aaron found the head honchos, an architect and construction supervisor standing around a blueprint.
Putting on his best face though he'd rather not, Aaron went up and greeted the men. "Hello, I am Aaron. I heard you needed construction help?"
The architect sighed but the supervisor's face lit up with excitement. "A helper at last. Just in time," he said patting the architect on the back. "See if we get helpers this will be done in no time." The architect shook his head, his masterpiece still not finished. "Show him the blueprint."
The architect with his long white beard blowing in the wind sighed again and showed Aaron the blueprints. The blue and white paper was a mismatch of shapes and angles. Numbers scribbled everywhere, Aaron could understand a little but not much. He had never been one for complex designs. Granted he understood the inner workings of a bee hive but blueprints were another thing altogether. The man gave a brief outline and showed the most urgent areas. Finally he stopped his slow southerly drawl, letting the supervisor butt in. "Good enough for now. Thanks Richard."
Grabbing Aaron around the shoulder, the construction worker lead Aaron forward and around the construction site. It would be a long day. Aaron knew what the work that would need to be done but this man touching him irked him. The bees agreed.
