An Encounter in a Snowly Day |RP|P|

[Emiko Yakio]

The brunette was wearing her default daily wear. She wore her short brown shorts that went a little bellow her hips and long thick socks that actually went a little bellow her knees. Attached to the belt of her shorts, Emiko wore her two butt bags that had her shinobi equipment inside them. She had 26 kunai, 4 knives and 32 Makibishi - the basics she needed for the mission she has took just a couple of minutes ago.

Emiko walked down the main street of the snow village. She has took a mission from the Yuki Tower but wasn't in the mood of working over her mission right now. The day was cold but the brunette was used to it. She was planning on doing some shopping before going for the mission but actually didn't feel like doing so too. She was bored. Yoshi hasn't payed her a visit for a while and without her around, Emiko had no one to talk with and it was really depressing for her. This reminded that she really had to find herself new friends.

Emiko was walking slowly and was enjoying the view of the snow village. It was all, white, white but the image was beautiful. Emiko walked and wondered what to do. She didn't feel doing like anything but was tired of the daily boredom. She wanted something to happen. She wanted to meet someone and to actually have some fun today.

[Ren Hart]

I was walking on the streets of the city like any other day. I didn't do much really just enjoyed the quiet of these days. I was dressed as usually in my black pants, jacket and t-shirt, with my two necklaces hanging at my neck. Despise the cold I had decided not to take my old hat and scarf. I looked out of place as it was. My white spiked hair was kind of messy and my eye's blue with very few grey reflexes. I had my butt bag with me just in case. You can never be too careful.

I was looking at the white sky that matched the snowy village and wondered if it would snow when I stumbled across somebody barely not falling face down.

"I'm sorry miss. I didn't mean it. I was just watching the marvellous sky. Are you ok? I'm Ren Hart." I said kissing her hand. I was embarrassed and the words came out of my mouth unthought.

[Emiko Yakio]

As Emiko was walking, not at all paying attention to her surroundings, concentrated on her mind, someone stumbled across her. Emiko instantly returned to the reality and looked at the person that stumbled across her. It was a girl that was probably somewhere around her age. Before Emiko brought herself to say anything, the suddenly began apologizing. "I'm sorry miss. I didn't mean it. I was just watching the marvellous sky. Are you ok? I'm Ren Hart." The words came out fast and at first, Emiko was having a hard time to understand what was actually happening, all of a sudden, but when the girl reached and kissed her hand, Emiko couldn't help herself but laugh. It wasn't a laugh meant to be mean but a laugh from the depths of her heart.

"Sorry, sorry." Emiko said after she stopped laughing. "It's okay. Don't worry about it. Ren was it? I am Emiko Yakio. It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?" Emiko looked at the girl. She had a short white hair and really beautiful blue eyes. She was wearing black pants a jacket, a T-shirt and a butt bag? "Hey, are you a shinobi too?" Emiko asked with a smile on her face, looking in the girl's eyes.

The other girl laughed and I tried to get myself together. I breathed in and calmed down. My skin was turning a bit more translucent. The pressure in the air I guess. I took my composed attitude again and looked at her curious. She seemed a pretty interesting figure.

"Sorry, sorry.It's okay. Don't worry about it. Ren was it? I am Emiko Yakio. It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself? Hey, are you a shinobi too?" the other girl asked.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking." I answered in a low deep manly voice." And yes I am a shinobi. Beginner one thou. I can only suppose the same goes for you. The shinobi part that is. You are clearly more skilled than me." I continued answering her question. "May I observe that your attire is a bit atypical for this kind of weather?"I concluded.

"Would you fancy going in for a hot drink and have a chat, miss Emiko?" I asked her being a bit cold myself and hoping I would get a companion for the day. The city was lonely for me with few people I could talk to and even though I took many chances by talking to a stranger I was feeling daring for the day.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking. And yes I am a shinobi. Beginner one thou. I can only suppose the same goes for you. The shinobi part that is. You are clearly more skilled than me." It appeared that both the girl and Emiko have got an idea about what was actually going on and now Emiko had an easier time understanding what the girl was saying. "I am not that skilled." Emiko exclaimed to what the girl has said. Emiko was smiling. "May I observe that your attire is a bit atypical for this kind of weather?" Emiko laughed a little as the girl concluded that. "Yeah, I guess you could say that."

Emiko was confused over what was going on inside her head. She has just met the girl and she was already feeling that she was starting to form a great friendship with the girl. Was it because she was so unique? In any way, Emiko wanted to make friends with the girl. "Would you fancy going in for a hot drink and have a chat, miss Emiko?" Emiko giggled. She has never been called "miss Emiko" before. "No need to be so formal, Ren-chan." Emiko smiled looking at the girl's eyes with a warm expression on her face. "Just "Emiko" is okay too, and yes, I would happily join you for a drink. Do you know any good places?"

[Ren Hart]

The chat with the brown girl seemed to fill up my heart with warmth. "I will try to do that, but you see I conduct myself after an ancient code of chivalry and therefore I must be polite to those around me. And you do qualify for the title miss." I answered in the same deep manly voice. *I'm a man. I'm a man.* I kept thinking to myself.

"I know a tavern just down this road."I pointed somewhere far on the main road." But I have to warn you. The owner is old, mean and perverted. Well at least to me. Used to train around there." I said a bit embarrassed. "Would you rather go somewhere else?" I asked before taking any steps.

"I will try to do that, but you see I conduct myself after an ancient code of chivalry and therefore I must be polite to those around me. And you do qualify for the title miss." Emiko didn't want to bother the girl making her call her in a different way that she wanted to call her. In fact, Emiko didn't care how she was called and didn't mind being referred as "miss". "Okay then, Miss Ren." Emiko smiled.

"I know a tavern just down this road." Emiko's eyes almost shined in excitement when the girl said that. She was going to visit a strange tavern she has never visited before with a girl she has just met. Now didn't that sound like fun? "But I have to warn you. The owner is old, mean and perverted. Well at least to me. Used to train around there." Anybody normal would deny the suggestion of going in that tavern after they heard that, however, Emiko wanted to have fun that day and being overly cautious would just ruin all the fun. That's why, she set herself a rule. A rule that would make her to always say "Sounds like fun! Let's go there!" As Emiko said that, she smiled and made a step towards the location the girl was pointing at. "Let's go, Miss Ren!" Emiko giggled as she waited for the girl to lead the way.

At being called miss I panicked a bi. Was it that obvious I was a girl ? I lead the way and walked through the icy snow few good miles. I liked that the girl seemed excited and I hoped she'd like the place, after all the people were nice.

We reached an old wooden cottage around the outskirts. It was covered in snow and you could barely see the entrance. It was pretty big and it had one extra floor. I stalled and looked at Emiko. "Please, if you don't mind, don't call me miss. I am kind of supposed to be a boy. So that appellative well...could get me in pretty much a lot of trouble. Only the owner knows I'm a girl. The rest just think he is teasing me." I told her quietly and smiled warm.

I pulled the big wooden door and lead the path for the lady. The songs and cheers of children, men and women could be hear loudly and an old raw manly voice yelled towards us as we entered. "Welcome! Welcome! Ren-chan brought a friend!"

[Emiko Yakio]

"Please, if you don't mind, don't call me miss. I am kind of supposed to be a boy. So that appellative well...could get me in pretty much a lot of trouble. Only the owner knows I'm a girl. The rest just think he is teasing me." Emiko nodded, pretending that she was okay what the girl just told her. She didn't have time to question her as the girl pulled the big wooden door of the tavern instantly.What did she mean by what she said? Nobody knew she was a girl? Were they blind? Or perhaps they were always drunk, yes, that might've been the case. Even an idiot would sense that the male-ish tone in the girl's voice was being a forced one. And couldn't they look at her face and tell? This was too weird even for Emiko.

And what did she mean she would be in trouble? Was she trying to hide her gender just because something was bothering her? That didn't feel right and Emiko felt that she had to investigate the case. For now, Emiko just nodded to what the girl told her as she heard a raw voice yelling at the two girls as they entered. "Welcome! Welcome! Ren-chan brought a friend!" Was this the owner of the tavern? In any case, Emiko would have to play along with what the girl has told her for the time being. "Yeah.." Emiko smiled forcibly. She had a plan in mind and she would soon put it in action.

[Ren Hart]

"Hey, Master Raiku. Yeah brought a friend" I said sitting at one of the stalls from the bar and patting the other for Emiko to sit on.
"Ohhh and it's a girl. What might I bring you dear?" the man asked. He was old but very fit with a long white beard and short hair. his eyes were small and black and he oversaw anything that happened in his tavern.

"You only see real girls in genjutsu nowadays, old fellow" I joked with him.
" Hahaha! The usual Ren? And take care of what you eat your fat went only to your chest again. No one will want to get it down with you that way. Man up, Ren-chan"

I imitated the old man mumbling and turned to my companion." Sorry for the atmosphere, but they do have the best hot drinks in town. Order anything you like. It's on me, Emiko" I told her softly. I was worried that she might not feel at home.

[Emiko Yakio]

Emiko sat next to her new friend. Just when she was about to order, the old man spoke. From what Emiko could see from first sight, he was an experienced bartender and was the real owner of the tavern. "Ohhh and it's a girl. What might I bring you dear?" Emiko smiled, again, forcibly. A fake smile was better than no smile, right? "I would like a cup of coffee please. With three lumps of sugar. Aside from that, do you serve any cake here?" Emiko was as clear as she could be with her order but was now listening to an interesting conversation. The tavern was pretty loud but she could clearly see the conversation between Ren and the owner of the tavern. After Ren said something to the man, he replied. "Hahaha! The usual Ren? And take care of what you eat your fat went only to your chest again. No one will want to get it down with you that way. Man up, Ren-chan" Man up? This man was really weird. As the man would go to bring the orders, the two girls would have a little time to chat.

"Sorry for the atmosphere, but they do have the best hot drinks in town. Order anything you like. It's on me, Emiko" The girl was the incarnation of kindness herself. She didn't say or do anything wrong but was yet apologizing. "No, no! You don't have to worry about a thing Ren. I will take care of the bill too." After Emiko was sure that they were alone, she turned to the girl and said quietly, making sure no one would overhear their conversation. "What's with all about this boy-acting thing?" Emiko said, making sure she didn't sound rude at any sort.

[Ren Hart]

"No, no! You don't have to worry about a thing Ren. I will take care of the bill too. What's with all about this boy-acting thing?"
I looked at her and grew a bit uncomfortable but as she was a shinobi of the snow I figure it was safe.

"Well, people seem to fall for it. I don't know why. I have I think one or two girls that like me. Which is weird. But it's convenient to be thought of as a boy. My voice gets really low and deep because of the cold anyway. You see I come from the land of wind. And if it weren't for my face I could easily pass as a boy anywhere too." I explained hoping it was detailed enough.

Meanwhile Master Raiku was serving other people and looking at us worried. He suddenly decided to go to the table. He went and placed their orders the coffee and a big glass of hot chocolate with marshmallows and bought the lady a big apple pie with vanilla sauce. " I don't have any other cake for the day. I'm afraid my cook is out hunting for the day. But I can offer you this pie on the house since you are Ren-chan's friend. And plus you look amassing. A delight to watch you here." He laughed and then moved back to his business.

Emiko looked as the expression on the girl's face changed. As a shinobi, Emiko could read ones emotions by looking at them and this girl was in some sort growing uncomfortable after Emiko asked her about the boy-acting business. "Well, people seem to fall for it. I don't know why. I have I think one or two girls that like me. Which is weird. But it's convenient to be thought of as a boy. My voice gets really low and deep because of the cold anyway. You see I come from the land of wind. And if it weren't for my face I could easily pass as a boy anywhere too." Emiko nodded and prepared to ask another question but she was interrupted just before she spoke by the tavern owner. " I don't have any other cake for the day. I'm afraid my cook is out hunting for the day. But I can offer you this pie on the house since you are Ren-chan's friend. And plus you look amassing. A delight to watch you here." Emiko nodded, looking at the apple pie that the man placed before her. "Yeah, I really do look amazing. And thank you for the apple pie." Emiko giggled. "I might start coming here more often, from now on." As the tavern owner left to do his own business with the tavern, Emiko decided that the right time to continue the dialogue with the girl has came. "No I meant, why are you pretending to be a boy?" Emiko asked after she took a sip from her coffee. "What will happen if people start knowing the real you?" Emiko said this with a smile on her face, making sure her voice sounded warm and comforting.

"No I meant, why are you pretending to be a boy? What will happen if people start knowing the real you?" she asked and I sighed thinking how to explain the situation.

"It is the real me. At least the way I behave and dress. At a certain point i was different but right now this is me. I'd rather people thought I was a boy because I wouldn't be recognised by people that want to harm me. If you had seen me years ago you wouldn't think it is the same person. But I'm safe here. It is cold and the ocean guards this place." I told Emiko. Details weren't my thing and my past wasn't sugar-sweet so sharing it would be a bit of a problem.

She was intrigued I could tell but I needed to change the subject a bit in other to gather my thoughts. "Could you tell me about yourself a bit?" I asked politely and cautiously. The tavern had quieted down a bit. The young boys had gone to train, the ladies went to their duties and there were only some old men drinking in the other corner. It was the atmosphere I enjoyed. As well as the dusty smell of the wood. Plus the company was good. I smiled to the girl and wondered why was this day so different.

"It is the real me. At least the way I behave and dress. At a certain point i was different but right now this is me. I'd rather people thought I was a boy because I wouldn't be recognized by people that want to harm me. If you had seen me years ago you wouldn't think it is the same person. But I'm safe here. It is cold and the ocean guards this place." Emiko smiled She understood Ren's reasons and accepted them as completely normal. Emiko would want to question the girl more but she saw that she was bothered by being questioned and decided to change the subject. "Could you tell me about yourself a bit?" The girl asked Emiko kindly with a kind and polite tone. The tavern became quiet as many people left for their daily duties. This reminded Emiko that she had a mission to go to but right now, the dialogue with this girl was far more important and interesting than some body-guard mission Emiko could practically go at any time. The atmosphere in the tavern changed completely as many people left and the atmosphere was now quite relaxing. "Well, there isn't really much to tell about me." Emiko said as she took a bite of her apple pie. "God, this really tastes good." Emiko said, enjoying the taste of the pie. After drinking some of her coffee, she continued. "I am born here, in the land of snow and have spent my whole life here. My father died on a mission and my mother was killed by an ANBU imposted just an year later, right before my eyes. I was taken care of a nice lady that promissed to protect me no matter what. This lady also taught me to NinJutsu and the basics of being a medic." Emiko took another sip of her coffee. "One day she suddenly disappeared leaving me a quite nice house with a training dojo underground, but it training is boring when you are doing it alone so the dojo is mainly collecting dust at the moment."

As Emiko started eating I brought my right hand to my chest and bowed my head the starting to take slow sips of my hot chocolate. I left the marshmallows for later as they were my favourite. As she talked I placed my left hand on her knee. I felt compassion towards the girl because I knew how it was to lose your family.

" If you don't want to train alone you can always come here you know? Master Raiku can be quiet skilled and if that's of no help well at least you will have company. This place is my home and my training place." I said kindly relaxing a bit. Maybe I could give her a few details. I took another sip of my chocolate and ate a marshmallow. The sweetness overtook me. " If you want to know anything ask" I said looking at her face. She seemed a curious person by nature but not dangerous.

Emiko's opinion over Ren suddenly changed as she placed her hand on Emiko's knee as she talked about how she lost her parents. Emiko has already considered Ren as a kind girl, however, after what she did, this opinion just couldn't remain the same. The girl was beyond kind - this worth wasn't even worth describing it. Emiko has never met a girl as sweet hearted as this. Emiko smiled and a tear almost shred down from her eye. After getting a hold of herself, Emiko listened as the girl invited her to train with her sometime. "If you don't want to train alone you can always come here you know? Master Raiku can be quiet skilled and if that's of no help well at least you will have company. This place is my home and my training place." The girl said and this only strengthened Emiko's opinion over her. "I will seriously consider this offer, Ren-chan." Emiko smiled. This wasn't like the forced out smile she had to do earlier when she entered the tavern - this smile was coming from the bottom of her heart. "If you want to know anything ask" Emiko nodded. She didn't have anything to ask at the moment, or at least nothing that couldn't wait after she took another bite from her apple pie. "Hey, do you have any plans for the day?" Emiko asked. She figured that this might have actually sounded weird, but she actually wanted to spend the rest of the day in the company of this girl.

[Ren Hart]

"Hey, do you have any plans for the day?" Emiko asked and I smiled warmly towards her." Well Master Raiku seems to be tormenting some other children so I am free for the day." I said happy that she had asked and I felt my face al lighten up.

I had finished my hot chocolate and pushed the plate with marshmallows towards the girl. I smiled and nodded towards her. "What would you like to do?" I asked her politely. She was great company and now that my skin and eyes had returned to a pretty normal look I felt even more comfortable.

Also I appreciated her choice of question and it was something I hadn't expected. I started to take a liking to this odd girl and wanted to spend more time with her. She seemed a genuine person.

[Emiko Yakio]

"Well Master Raiku seems to be tormenting some other children so I am free for the day."" Well Master Raiku seems to be tormenting some other children so I am free for the day." Emiko laughed a little upon hearing this. "Tormenting? Is he really that scary? Doesn't look like to me..."

"What would you like to do?" Actually, this is the question Emiko hoped not to hear. That's because she had no idea what she wanted to do. She wanted to do something interesting but nothing from this sort would come in her mind at the moment. She looked at the girl with a somewhat unsure expression on her face. After this, she laughed. "Actually, I was hoping you would suggest something. I rarely have any fun at all and today was one of the most exciting days I've had for quite the while, for some reason." The brunette took a sip of her coffee and a bite of her apple pie. "God! I envy you getting to eat things like this everyday."

[Ren Hart]

"Ah no. He's not scary. But just to give you an example. Last time I trained with him he made me take off clothes every time I failed. And he didn't explain the technique so of course I'd fail. Oh. Did I mention I was in front of the cottage in a cold freezing wind ? " I said laughing. Raiku wasn't a bad man. He was just very strict and needed his fun.

"Actually, I was hoping you would suggest something. I rarely have any fun at all and today was one of the most exciting days I've had for quite the while, for some reason. God! I envy you getting to eat things like this everyday." Emiko said and I smiled warmly.

"Well. We could go play outside since there is plenty of snow. When we are cold we could just get back inside and go to my room. I live here rent free, because master is set on protecting me. " I suggested playing with my spiky hair. "Plus, you can come eat here as often as you like. I can make most of the recipes and it'd be tax free. Well... maybe hanging around with me would be the tax. It's boring to cook alone." I added taking another marshmallow and looking at the girl.
