Character Depth
Personality:
Appearance:
Starting from the top and going down, Kiara is a moderately tall young woman. She has sleek, long raven black hair that she keeps tied into a pair of loose flowing ponytails reaching just below the swell of her back, which she often keeps tied and tucked away in whatever she's wearing to keep them from hanging out, a potential danger to herself should the flowing locks get tangled or caught by an enemy. Then we get to her face, thin and heart shaped, with a slightly pointed chin, a petite nose, and strong cheekbones that come together to give her a moderately upper class appearance even when she doesn't try to look her best.
The immediate attention would usually, however, be on her eyes. The pale eyes that seem to have no pupils, that give her an ethereal, almost ghostly appearance. The marking of one of the Hyuuga clan. At her age it is clear that she should be marked with the branch seal on her forehead if she were a branch member, indicating she must be from the main house.
Moving on to her body structure, she is lean and fit. The body of an athlete, perhaps a runner, but with several very distinct oddities, all of which being extra arms. Four of them to be precise, two pair spaced evenly out below the originals. They look natural, and move with the easy grace of someone who has spent years using and adjusting to them, to someone who it is now second nature, but they are an oddity all the same given she doesn't seem to share many traits with the Kumomusha clan, who would normally be the ones to bear such an augmentation. For many reasons, however, she wears specially modified clothing when she wears anything at all, used to hide her augmentations from view. There is no need for an opponent or an ally to know all of her advantages at first glance.
And now we come to her posture, and the way she carries herself most often. She is the relaxed sort, in appearance, usually found leaning against something while seeming to be in deep thought. When in movement she sways slightly, her body not seeming to follow the same path as her legs most of the time, her rhythm always slightly off beat. She seems carefree and loose in the way she handles herself.
There are two exceptions to this. When she encounters the Symbol of the Unseen one could see her visibly stiffen and become rigid as she studies it closely, scanning over it with a discerning glare. This is not meant as an insult to the Unseen, but rather a compliment as she would be certain that her instructions are valid and true before carrying them out, lest she be led astray by false gods. Upon the completion of reading instructions from her Unseen masters, she becomes very determined and a nearly unstoppable force, as not much save death and detainment can stop her from following the will of the Unseen.
The second exception is when she is faced with combat. Real, true combat in which she does not have a clear and determined advantage over her opponent. At these times she lets her fierce bravery show, her years of training surfacing and allowing her to move with grace and precision across a battlefield, making split second decisions that can drastically alter her stance and style in a moment's notice. It is at these times that she is most dangerous, because her body becomes a mixture of rigid and flowing, a combination of force and sway that makes her like the water, swiftly rushing across the battlefield to drown her foes.
Background:
Rumor says that once, years ago, there was a child stolen from the Hyuuga clan, not more than a few weeks old. Swept away in the shadow of the night, much to their surprise and dismay. A firstborn, who would have been part of the Main House. A girl who would later come to be known as Kiara Nato. But that is advancing too far in our story. This child, without family, without name, stolen from the Hyuuga, was not held for ransom. Not killed for the secrets of her eyes. She wasn't even treated harshly by her captors. For her first six months she was given supplements, growth aids, provided some of the best care and treatment at a private hospital. Her original captors long since gone, she was left in the care of the doctors and nurses until she began to show development in both cognitive and motor skills. Then her training began.
By nine months old she was doing more than walking, she was running. Under the guidance of the doctors and nurses she performed daily workout routines that maximized her muscle control and by her first birthday she was molding chakra in order to perform simple jutsu such as dashing across water and walking along walls and trees, an odd sight for something so small. These milestones each marked a great success for all involved in the project, and so the next tier of training was introduced as her doctors were replaced with trainers.
For the next four years, as her body and brain grew, the young girl was taught the ways of the world. Slowly, at first, but she showed more capacity to learn than anyone would have expected as she picked up on the concepts of language, mathematics, survival, chakra, and combat with great ease. It was as though she were born for this, and considering all the influences up to that point, she may as well have been. Of course, all of this instruction was aided by the fact that she had access to one of the best private training facilities money could buy. Each of her teachers was a master of their craft, and each of those teachers were aided, when they could not do it themselves, by a master of Genjutsu, who used their skills to create entire scenarios for the young girl. By putting her into the situations, rather than merely instructing her on them, they were able to provide her with personalized training that far surpassed what one would normally achieve in a public classroom. While at the same time implanting a simple, compulsory, subliminal desire into her mind. The symbol. To be obeyed.
At the age of eight Kiara was operated on, for the purpose of furthering her physical limits beyond that of the normal human being. The Kumomusha techniques of adding a secondary and tertiary set of arms to the body would allow her to surpass the limitations of only being able to perform a single art at a time. With this she was now able to train in the ability to attack, defend and perform handseals. Simulated missions with the aid of Genjutsu allowed her to develop her skill with these new apendages, performing and excelling at tests of physical endurance, skill, and power as her academic prowess surpassed all projections, as it had been all her life, but now time was becoming a factor. For now we come back to the girl's history. The source of her milky white eyes. The little Hyuuga girl showed no sign of tapping into her latent abilities. No matter what scenario she was put into, no matter how she was trained or tested or stressed, she continued to combat her problems with blades, rather than the skill that her benefactor felt should come naturally, or at least be capable of development under the proper circumstances. Yet the people he paid so much to bring out said powers failed him. After several years spent dedicated to training the girl, after she spent several years developing a strongly dependent bond with them, they suddenly vanished. Replaced by new teachers. Cold, harsh teachers. She felt alone now, as she continued to practice and learn. When she asked, nobody would tell her where they had gone.
Until one day she saw the symbol. In one of her training sessions. She was placed into a large meadow, through the use of powerful Genjutsu, and instructed to take down a tower of stone. Except, every time she approached the tower to swing her sword at it, it simply vanished and re-appeared slightly farther away. This process repeated for nearly a full day as she tried to understand why she could not approach her target. Then, almost in defiance of the test, she put her weapon away and attempted to approach the pillar. Now it did not vanish, rather, it remained in place. Waiting as she came to it. A pillar of stone, carved intricately with writing all over it. At first she felt this must be a part of the Genjutsu, a part of the test. She was meant to cut down the pillar with intelligence, not strength. Only, as she began to read the pillar's writing her posture shifted suddenly. "Death", "Betrayal", "Hatred". She read the words, but they made no sense. Then they shifted, and new words formed. "Killed. Unseen. Savior." they were beginning to form a sentence before her very eyes, each shift bringing new words, new meaning, new statements, and then finally it settled its shape, "You were betrayed. The hated ones hold you captive. Follow the Unseen. Obey the Unseen. Our Symbol guides you, and it shall show you the way. Let those who train you fall to your blade, and give honor to the fallen."
She was only a few months older than eight, but the message quickly became clear to her. Captives, those who held her within this Genjutsu. Betrayel, the vanishing of her previous trainers. The Unseen, the symbol she had been taught to obey, the masters who watched her every move and guided her hand. She would slay her captor in their honor, and for the honor of her lost friends. These were the men who killed her friends. The only people she had ever known. She felt no love for them. She had always known. Known that they were unworthy. She placed her hand on the hilt of her katana, and with a sudden swift strike she had cleaved the pillar completely through, simply through the action of drawing her sword. The genjutsu broke as her instructor collapsed to the floor, his guts spilling from his split open stomach. One down, three to go. She wouldn't have much time, now that there was a body to hide, and the room she stood in was entirely empty, save for the pair of them. She placed her sword back into her sheathe carefully, adjusting it on her hip as she determined what needed to be done. Each one would die now. She did not need them anymore. She would follow the command of the Unseen.
Her next target had to be the most difficult of the three, or she would have no chance of success. The longer she took, the more time they would have for alarms. She couldn't kill everyone in the building. Too many, too skilled. She'd be dead before she finished twenty. So she smeared the blood on her face and kimono, making it look like she was the injured one as she entered the room where she knew her Taijutsu teacher would be waiting. He looked upon her with suspicion, but came to her aid all the same when he saw the tears in her eyes. As he moved in close, leaning down to examine her injuries, she swiftly drew her blade out and up, placing the tip to his throat and pushing upwards in one smooth motion before he even realized he was being attacked. At first he grasped the sword, trying to prolong his life by keeping her from doing any more damage, but she had already severed the carotid artery. In a matter of moments he dropped to his knees, and she was smoothly removing her sword from his neck. Now that he was dead she only had to kill her ninjutsu and academic trainers. Easy targets both. Or so she thought. As she left the Taijutsu room one of the maintenance personnel spotted her, and immediately, as per his job description, turned his mini-transceiver on to warn the medical staff that 'The subject is covered in blood!'. The little girl didn't like that. This man, who now stood in the way of her revenge by alerting those who would attempt to stop her. Without hesitation she started running towards him, ramming her drawn sword between his ribs and through his heart before he could start another sentence. His dying words were merely, "Help…"
There was to be no help, though. Not for the dead. The girl looked around the hallway as she began to sheathe her sword, trying to figure out her best escape route. With her plans exposed she surely couldn't catch her last two teachers unaware. They would have to be punished, the Unseen had demanded it of her, but not now. Not if it meant she would die. She still had so much to do. Then she saw it. The symbol of the Unseen, above a doorway. She dashed forward, kicking the door so hard that it left her shaken when the door didn't budge. Frustrated she moved to punch the door for being in her way, when she realized that the Unseen wouldn't provide her a locked exit. She held her punch and pushed the thick steel door slowly outwards at the handle, and as it gave way sunlight poured into the area. It was not the outdoor gymnasium, with its strong glass walls or its fake grass, but the actual outdoors. She had seen much of it in her Genjutsu assisted training, but she had never felt it for real. Not until the day she escaped.
But now she was even more alone than before. She lived among the forests, a six-armed murderous freak. She only entered the cities when she needed to, and only when she could assemble a proper disguise for her extra arms. She grew skilled at providing for herself, and where she could not she sold herbs to the locals in order to earn money for shopping. She trained herself to be self-sufficient, awaiting the guidance of the Unseen, building her home in the forest where she spent her time studying many arts from metalworking to alchemy. It wasn't for several years that they would call out to her again, though. One day, while walking through the market with the intent of purchasing a new set of vials and flasks for her alchemy, she saw upon the back of a man's neck the symbol. Beneath that were a single, simple instruction. "Kill."
He was a rather round man, and didn't seem terribly unpleasant at first glance, but the girl knew better than to ignore the symbol. The Unseen wanted him dead, and whatever their reasons for it, their will be done. As that thought ran through her mind a smile crossed her lips, and the girl began to follow him from a distance, keeping her eyes on him and studying him closely. The simple guidance of the Unseen would be her boon, she was sure, so when he finally arrived at his house for the night after a long walk around the market stalls, she set herself into the bushes and waited several hours for all signs of light to have been doused for a long time before striking. She climbed swiftly up the building, and in the man's sleep she slit his throat without ceremony or remorse. Killing was easy. Killing was simple, and in the back of her mind she felt something click as she watched the blood soak through the bed. Killing in the name of the Unseen was fun. Perhaps unnecessary would have to be kept to a minimum, but why would the unseen not want her to enjoy her work? She sheathed her still bloody blade and left the now dead man, who had during her thoughtful silence been gurgling his shock and desire to live fruitlessly, to be found nearly four days later, when she was already long gone.
And so it continued from there. The Unseen provided her messages through the forest, through the world, guiding her until she came upon a village. A hidden village, to which the Unseen merely gave her the instruction, "Enter."
It was simple enough, in theory. She merely had to gain access to the city. She prepared her most beguiling tactics, readying herself for anything the gate guards might throw at her as she approached the city for the first time, but as she began to speak, to tell them that she was here on important business, she was rushed through the gate without so much as a warning. It was only by a brief glimpse that she caught the tattoo on the side of the man's neck who now ushered her through the streets. The Symbol of the Unseen. With a soft sigh she relaxed as she was taken into a building nearby, which had supplies in it. A new cloak, a bag, and a Rain Ninja headband, along with certification papers and a pass to enter the academy for basic training. Everything she needed to become an official Rain Ninja, practically under the radar. The Unseen provided for her, yet again proving the rewards of her devotion to them. A smile crept across her face as she donned the disguise.

Character Depth
Personality:
Kiara is more than simply chaotic. One might say she is fanatical. Her devout and unquestioning obedience of the instructions of the Unseen could be seen as the ravings of a madwoman, given that the messages appear to only be readable by her. She has come to accept this fact, however, as she understands that the Unseen are just that, and only a select few are graced by their gift.
This loyalty to the Unseen has led her to do many things that might be considered evil, and she herself wouldn't be evil for merely carrying out these orders. In fact, she is to herself considered holy and righteous in her arts of murder and torture, as she is given her duties by the hands gods. For this reason she is unwilling to believe that what she is doing might be wrong. To her, it is the only thing that is right. Those who contradict her righteous authority are often met with hostility, ranging from a simple glare if you were to insult her, to a full out attack from her lightning-fast katana if one were to insult the Unseen or her faith.
When not pertaining to the Unseen however, her lifestyle has gone from structured to hectic very quickly, and because of this she too has had to adjust for it. Living in a forest means she has had to rely mostly on herself, and her self-sufficiency bleeds into her way of interacting with others, except when she needs something from them. In the latter case, her tongue can be as smooth as silver, for the purpose of alleviating someone of their goods or services. Not everything can be found in a forest, after all.
More than all of this, however, Kiara is creative. When she encounters a problem, or even something that could potentially be improved, she approaches it from every angle she knows how. Because of this she fancies herself to be something of an inventor, and a self-proclaimed genius. Her better-than-you attitude can make it difficult to get along with her, or even be in close proximity to her for long periods of time.
In fact, she can be quite obnoxious, or very intuitive, depending on the minute of the day and the person listening. For those who can tolerate her, one might learn much from the things she says, such as the various uses of the feathers of common birds or the ways to carve an otherwise poisonous meal into something worth eating. Her years of survival have left her a veritable bank of information that can be tapped into, if you can make sense of the things she's saying.
