Godric was back on the trail of a scent. This one was interesting, there was a salty smell to it. It almost masked up the rest of the small. It was potent indeed. He wasn’t sure what this could be because there were so many smells tied to such a thing. Taking a deep breath he would try to get the entire scent picture of this particular source. His reaction was to cover his nose. The salty smell was almost burning his nostrils. He could feel his sense of smell dull for a short minute. He could feel the slight itchy feeling it had produced. Perhaps a large sample was not what was called for.
Waiting for the feeling to pass, Godric breathed into his mouth then quickly voided his lungs through his nostrils. Snot rocketed out onto the ground and taking a hankerchief he wiped his nose. Such a gross thing but he had to clear and cleanse his nose of the intense salt smell. Then he started to take quick small breaths with his nose. He had seen this in the animal kingdom when there was a strong oder in the area. He was taking smaller samples but at a quicker rate. The smell permeated the air so it wasn’t tough to find the smell itself.
Godric was starting to paint of picture of the scent profile that this smell had to offer. He could start to tell the very subtle other notes that it had. It was an interesting bouquet of smells for certain. The feelings he had toward it was a slight longing. As if the sea was dancing within his lungs he could familiarize himself with this. Then he let his instincts take over to truly find a memory tied to this smell. The strongest tool he had was his memory and he had lived a long time. This smell was indeed an interesting one.
