The room was quiet, dead quiet in fact, Hitora slowly opened the wood and paper door to the dojo. It opened with a loud scrapping noise as the wood rubbed against the wood it was set into. Once he was inside he began to look around, it was much like any other building of this kind he’d seen, a bit larger perhaps if anything. As he stood in the room he could hear the loud rain outside, wondering when his teacher would arrive.

“This sure is a nice place, looks a bit dusty though, I wonder when it was last used?” Hitora then began to walk around, lightly dragging his index and middle finger along a small table, it was coated in a good amount of dust, only time would tell kind of condition the building was in otherwise.

Other than its condition, the building itself was well stocked in supplies for training, there was almost any conceivable device that could be used for training, speed bags, punching bags, weights, you name it this place had it. There was even a small medical room that had basic supplies for fixing up those within, Hitora wondered who built this place, but that wasn’t really of importance.

NPC: The Living Sword

"It hasn't been used in thirty years I fear." A voice came from behind. The Living Sword came from the shadows of the dojo. The Living Sword was a handsome older man. In his youth the man could have been just as handsome as Hitora himself. The councilman bowed before Hitora, a sign of equality and brotherhood between both men. "It has been far too long since it has been in use, but it's a good dojo, filled with training weapons, armor and what is needed." He said as he bent over and pulled along two large jugs of water. If they did get dehydrated while training, they would have the resources to quench their thirst.

"Itonami, Hagane is the name my parents have given me." The man continued. "I was given the title of the Living Sword for my mastery of all fighting styles with a blade. And over the years I have also given the title of councilman." He explained to Hitora. Though he was known for his mastery of the blade, he excelled in most forms of taijutsu, including range combat and hand to hand. "You may refer to me as sensei, master Itonami or Lord Hagane." The Living Sword continued, making sure that there would be clear boundaries between himself and his newest student.

Hitora nearly jumped out of his skin when the older gentleman began speaking, he wasn’t expecting anyone to have come into the building anytime soon. When his heart rate slowed, Hitora thought to himself thirty years? That is a pretty long time to be left derelict, I wonder why it’s been left unused for so long if it is so useful… Hitora then watched as the man placed down two large jugs of water.

Hitora then bowed to the man in respect as the elder said his name, and what he could be called “Lord Hagane, thank you for taking the time to train me, I know as a member of the council you have much more important things to be doing besides training some lowly shinobi like myself. I am called Hitora Ryunobu.”

Hitora didn’t know if the Amekage had told the man about his heritage or not, but he could only assume that she didn’t due to his unspoken request for privacy regarding the matter. Hitora, looked the man over, compared to Hitora whom was in his normal combat attire, the older gentleman dressed with a certain elegance that Hitora himself hoped to achieve some day.

Hitora then straightened up and began a question “So Lord Hagane, what will you be instructing me in first? I am eager to begin my training.” Hitora wanted to become stronger, to show those who came before him his strength and maybe one day to find the one who caused the Uchiha clan’s destruction.

NPC: The Living Sword

There was a reason why the dojo had not been in use for thirty years. But the reason pained Hagane. Instead of speaking about it, he concentrated on the young man before him. When the council had come to Mitsukai, telling her of her destiny, there had been one condition, that the members of the council would take on more work than they had previously done. Instead of being individuals of comments and suggestions, they would be ones of action and results. And The Living Sword had been eager to accept. The Rain God on the other hand had complained, but Hagane had been eager to help shape the youth by training anyone who wanted.

"Bokukingu, what you young folk call boxing." Hagane explained as he grabbed two training gauntlets and threw them toward Hitora. The moment they had been thrown, the man fell into a stance. His body was straight, his weight shifting his right and left leg. One foot was advanced slightly more than the other, while the the corresponding arm was also slightly advanced, both hands kept at the level of the face to hit quickly and powerfully all the while shielding one's face if needed.

"The Upright Stance is simple but highly effective. Try your best with it, it is the basis of what comes next." Hagane explained.

Description: Picture To adopt an Upright Stance, you should stand with your legs roughly shoulder-width apart. Your back foot should be about half a step behind your front foot. If your dominant boxing hand is your right hand, your left foot will lead. Lift your right heel off the ground by about 3 inches and point both feet inward (although do not exaggerate this movement). If you lift your heel too far off the ground, or turn your feet too far inward, you will become unbalanced. As a test, imagine someone pushing you from any direction. In a properly balanced stance, you should be able to maintain an upright position and not fall to the ground or sway from side to side. To increase the stability of your stance, keep your knees and hips slightly bent but make sure your back is straight. Your lead fist (which will be your left fist if your dominant boxing hand is your right hand) should be positioned vertically at eye level, approximately six inches away from your face. Your right fist should be positioned next to your chin, with your elbow held against your ribcage. This is good defensive positioning and will effectively protect your body. Whilst watching televised boxing matches, you may have noticed the boxers tapping their cheeks with their hands. This repetitive action acts as a reminder to keep fists up at all times and is especially important as the match progresses and energy levels drop. To further protect yourself from blows from your opponent, keep your chin pressed against your chest. Punches to the jaw often cause knock-outs, so it is essential to keep this stance throughout the boxing match.

Hitora caught the pair of gauntlets, sliding his hands into either one of them, fastening them to his hands tightly so they wouldn’t slide off easily. He then watched as the older man got into a fighting stance, his back straight, and his legs in a position to easily shift his weight from one to the other without much effort. As for his hands they were up, one slightly more extended than the other but still in a spot to offer good protection.

Hitora then slowly bent his legs and gave them a bit more space between one another, keeping his back as straight as he could he then brought his right hand up and close to his face placing it just shy of his chin, his left hand was then placed at roughly eye height and about six or so inches from his face. Hitora had known of boxing, he knew that this kind of stance would allow him to easily throw small punches, but how that was possible yet he wasn’t quite sure.

Hitora then pointed both feet more inwards, lifting his right heel slightly off the ground, by about three inches. He then began to imagine that someone would push him from a random spot, slowly making him sway to and fro in various different directions, but not letting himself fall nor his feet move from their position. As he did this he also set his shoulders and kept them still, as still as he could.

Hitora wondered if he was doing this right, the young man curious what the elder said about his current stance and if he had any critiques or if he had a strong enough grasp on the basic stance to move on to the next item on the list of training or if he’d be doing this all day.

NPC: The Living Sword

"Looking good, solid, Hitora." Hagan explained calmly as he inspected the stance that Hitora had fallen into. He nodded approvingly toward his pupil who seemed to be quite the fast learner. But a stance was relatively easy to master. "You may have a natural talent for this." The Living Sword explained calmly and for a moment he was reminded of a previous individual he had been training thirty years in the past. He did not spend too much time on the matter though, he had a pupil to train, it was the Amekage's orders. Shedding the moment of nostalgia quickly, he turned his attention back on Hitora.

"The next thing to do is still a stance, sadly." Relaxing his whole body, Hagane fell into a semi-crouch. "Get rid of all the pressure on your shoulders, crouch only slightly, and always stay alert." Hagane gave a few punches through the air, the new stance seemed to affect the range a bit, making it easier to punch at anything at a distance. "Practise this new stance, make it second nature to you." The sensei explained.

Description: Picture You may choose to fight from a crouch (or semi-crouch) position during a boxing match. If you choose this option, lean forward rather than maintaining an upright position, whilst making sure your feet are kept close together. The most important thing to remember when adopting a balanced boxing stance is to relax. If you start to become tense, your balance will be negatively affected and you will be more likely to receive a harmful blow from your opponent. Your neck and back should never feel under any pressure. If your neck and back do feel tense, you may be leaning your shoulders too far forward and not rotating your hips in line with them. If you want to increase the range of your punches, try positioning your front foot ahead of your head. To see the difference that this new stance can make, stand in front of a punch bag whilst keeping your back foot steady and in the normal position. Punch forward slowly and keep your punch at its full extension. After this, move your lead foot in front of your head and repeat the punching movement. Stop the punch at its full extension and you should be able to notice the increased range now available to you. When practicing this variation, keep the other elements of the orthodox stance, such as the position of the elbows and chin, the same.

Hitora, still in the same stance as before, watched the older man slowly relax into a different stance, there wasn’t a huge difference in the appearance but yet the other seemed to think it necessary to throw a few punches at nothing. Hitora looked at the ma, studying everything about how the man looked down to the last possible detail he could perceive regarding the stance.

Once he did that, Hitora then followed suit, he relaxed his shoulders a bit, and leaned forwards an equal amount, as he did that he slowly moved his feet in line with the rest of his body, feeling the pressure from keeping his upper body so straight moments ago almost disappear.

He could feel no pressure in his back now, nor in his neck, he could get a rough idea that this stance allowed for a greater chance of being able to absorb a punch because the shock wouldn’t echo through his body as much as the rigidity of the prior would allow it to. Once he felt more comfortable he decided to do as Hagane-san did when illustrating this stance.

Hitora then slowly threw a single punch with his left hand, took a step forwards and threw another one, stopping only when the punches reached their full extension, only to bring his fist back to its ready position and repeat the same move, to someone simply watching the duo it’d look like Hitora was mocking the stance most likely, but hopefully to the council members eyes, it’d show him trying to get used to a new way of moving, making it part of his muscle memory.

"Time to learn the individual moves now." The master of Taijutsu combat began as he went to stand right next to Hitora, both of them now fighting in the same direction. With that he fell into the first stance, the one which was upright, bringing both hands up, he punched the air with one hand, performing the movement in quick succession. He then performed it in the semi-crouch position, his movements were quick and precise, not fluid at all, almost like a machine.

"You have to master this jab, it has to become as easy as breathing." Hagane explained calmly.

Description: Picture Stand with your feet hip distance apart. Step your right foot back 18-24 inches with the weight of your right leg on the ball of your foot (right heel is somewhat elevated and the knees are slightly bent). Bring your right fist close to your right cheek bone and your left fist slightly in front of it about jaw height. Pull your elbows in towards your ribs so that they line up somewhat below your fists. Push off of the ball of the right foot, bend the left knee slightly and start to extend the left hand in a pushing type motion (there should be a subtle rotation as your left hand goes forward your right shoulder moves back). You may also rotate the fist so that when it reaches the desired destination your left palm will be facing down. Retract the left hand as fast as you extended it and return to the original position. Remember before punching relax the hand, snap it forward and clinch before making contact. Do your best to strike with the first two knuckles and keep your wrist in neutral position upon impact. Aim six to eight inches beyond your target. Extend the arm only about 90-95 percent. Keep your chin tucked down toward your chest--this protects your jaw from exposure to being hit. Bring your hand back as fast as you throw it. Move your head on an angle as you throw the punch.

Hitora watched the elder man as he returned to the first stance, and threw a few punches in quick succession, noting that there was no fluidity in the punches themselves but rather that they were quick punches that took little to no time to set up and that they could be rather strong. The punch itself was more or less a straight forwards and back punch, much like fishing you want the punch to go one direction and come back in the same direction.

The actual fist was much like the line itself, it could rotate but it stayed in a single line for the most part, Hitora watched as the man’s fist rotated from the fingers pointing at the man’s face to actually pointing more towards the ground, as he punched. Hitora made sure to take all of this in, making sure that it was as much ingrained in his mind now as he’d interlace it with his body and muscle memory soon enough.

Figuring that he had watched the old man enough, Hitora threw a punch, it was crooked, no real power behind it, almost as if he couldn’t perform it quite right, Hitora drew his arm back and tried again, all with his left hand, throwing another punch, this time the punch itself was straight and narrow but he forgot to add the rotation to his wrist to keep his palm facing the ground.

Hitora then tried again, returning to the upright stance, he then began shifting his weight around as he did so, before long he threw the punch again, this time it was an almost textbook example of it, the punch moving from its ready position near his face to suddenly being extended forwards along with his wrist rotating.

The rotation kept the palm of his hand aimed at the ground as well as adding a bit more power and torque to the punch, extra damage to the opponent if one was there to be hit by this punch at least, as he did so the pure strength and power of the punch was barely audible as when he stopped at his full extension a slight sound could be heard almost like a “pop”, it was a good sound, if there was a solid object in front of him to take the hit, it likely would have sounded louder, and even more like the powerful if early on hit that it was in the style.

Hitora continued to practice the new move, it was a simple and rather straight forwards punch that would be able to be thrown easily and set up a combination of punches. The jab, as it was called, was fast, vicious and could be devastating if used right. Hitora continued to punch the air, keeping within the watchful gaze of the older gentleman. He knew that the older man would comment if he were doing something incorrect during this training session.

Though he had begun to doubt himself a bit, even knowing that fact, he began to think he wouldn’t be able to get this simple technique down much like he hadn’t been blessed with the Sharingan when he was younger, maybe if he had been he could have tipped the odds of the fight in the village more in the favor of the Uchiha clan…

No, he couldn’t think like that, that would only waste is time, time he should be using to master this technique, to be able to use this new fighting move whenever he wanted in combat. So Hitora continued, continued to throw punches at nothing, trying to increase the speed that he could throw it, putting more torque into his hips rotation, as well as the rotation of his left arm and wrist.

With each punch the loud pop noise could continue to be heard, still barely audible but in the empty dojo it was loud, louder than anything else, with each punch he released a breath. With each time he drew his arm back into its ready stance it became a faster, swifter movement and he took a breath in each time this happened. Continuing to push his arm out even when it was beginning to feel a little tired, he continued throwing these jabs, over and over again.

Hagane had to admit to himself that Hitora was a bit shaky with the jab, but he was quick to correct it, which was the mark of a true master in the making. Once the Living Sword felt like Hitora had understood the principle behind the jab and used it effectively, Hagane walked to face him, wise old man facing exuberant youth. Keeping his feet shoulder-width apart he lifted both of his hands and fell into the regular, standard stance. Bringing both hands up he brought one fist before the other while keeping the other close by to shield his features.

"The Cross, or the Straight." Hagane began explaining. Both of his hands hovered at chin level before he punched forward in quick succession with his right hand. It was a straight and powerful punch thrown with the rear of Hagane's right hand.

Description: Picture Determine which hand is your strong hand. Although you can throw a straight hand punch with either your left or right hand, it will be most effective if you use your strongest hand. Most right-handed fighters have a stronger right hand, while left-handed fighters have stronger left hands. Get into a basic boxing stance. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart with your knees slightly bent. If you are right-handed, your left shoulder should be pointed toward the other fighter and your right shoulder should be back. The opposite is true if you are left-handed. Keep both hands up. They should hover just under the chin, with your forearms in front of your body. This will protect you from the opponent's punches. Begin the straight hand punch from the foot. Push off your back foot and pivot toward your opponent, twisting your foot, leg, torso and shoulders. Concentrate on bringing power up from your leg, hips, trunk and shoulders and channeling it into your fist as you twist your body. If you don't pivot your body, your punch will be much weaker than if you use the correct form. Aim for the other fighter's face. Punch out in a straight line and extend the arm out all the way. At the point of impact, your feet and body should be facing the other fighter. Snap your hand back to your chin as you twist your body back to the beginning position. Remember to keep your left hand up throughout the punch so you have a guard up to protect you from a counterpunch.

Hitora watched as the older man stood in front of him, got into the basic stance and proceeded to bring his hands up into their proper places as the stance dictated. The older man then threw a sudden punch with his right hand with a swiftness that showed no hint of having aged at all, the man may have looked older but he definitely still had the strength to be more than a challenge for most opponents.

Hitora felt the wind from the punch as it stopped at the man’s full extension mere inches away from his face. Hitora saw everything though about the punch, not to the degree of an Uchiha with the Sharingan would, but he still saw all the necessary movements. Hitora then took up the same stance as the other man, his feet shoulder width apart, his fists hovering near his face, particularly his chin.

Hitora then drew his right arm back and threw it forwards, a straight punch towards the elder and stopped his punch at its full extention mere inches from the other’s face. He then snapped his hand back to its starting pose and noticed that his punch was weaker than that of the more experienced man’s. Up till now he noticed he kept on par with him for punching power, but now there was a noticeable difference between the two. Hitora then realized something that the older man did that he didn’t.

Hagane had twisted or rotated his whole body starting at his back foot, pivoting the lead, pointing his whole body towards Hitora. Hitora decided to try that, to see what kind of an effect it would have on the punch, it wouldn’t hurt to try that after all. Hitora, now in the basic upright stance, took several deep breathes in and out, his left foot beginning to pivot as he pushed off the ground slightly with the right foot.

He then twisted his hips, rotating them to more face the man, followed soon by the twisting of his torso and abdomen making his right shoulder point towards the man his fist now drawn back. All the while he kept his left hand up near his face as a precautionary measure, which in a real fight or even a proper spar would be the smart choice as a counterpunch could be thrown during this at any point.

Hitora then launched his right fist forwards, watching it go straight for the old man’s face, the punch stopping centimeter’s from his nose, the power from the punch would likely make a small gust of wind that would blow against the old man and perhaps even move some of his hair back from said wind. Hitora then snapped his right arm back to his face, as he did so he untwisted his torso, abdomen and hips, bringing the heel of his right foot back down to the ground and his left foot back to its normal position since it was brought forwards ever so slightly by the punch.

Hitora then stayed in the upright stance and watched the old man, his face partially hidden by his two fists now covering his face as a sort of precautionary measure incase the older man decided to suddenly turn this training into a full spar session with the younger man.

Daichi Kangoku No Jutsu (Earth Prison Technique)

Skill: Ninjutsu
Effect: Raises Earth in a circle radius around the person of the user's choice. It can have a maximum base diameter of 3 meters.
Special: "Hand Seals, Hold Rabbit"
Drawback: The earth prison is not closed at the top, so it is possible for the victim to escape.
Description: Earth rises up around the targeted person quickly to a maximum height of 4 meters, trapping them inside. At D rank this technique is little more then a distraction or simple defense, only able to absorb a simple "D" ranked attack before it crumbles. Only the part that is attacked will collapse, unless the structural integrity of the entire prison is compromised. At C rank it becomes much harder and resists attacks better, but with persistence victim can break free (1 C rank). At B rank the prison is extremely hard and thick, made of solid rock. It is very difficult to break and will reflect most ninjutsu techniques back upon the victim. Although this attack is only B ranked, its is extremely tough and will stand up to most jutsu, including all B ranked techniques. Piercing jutsu will be most effective in breaking the wall.

Hitora returned to the space where he was training not too long ago with Lord Hagane, he had been told not to expect him for a while and that he should continue to train without the elder there. Hitora understood, the man had other priorities to do, so holding a scroll of Earth techniques, Hitora sat down in the area. He then began reading a random technique on the scroll. It was a basic if fallible imprisonment technique. It had multiple ranks so he knew that he would need to train it more so later.

The technique was called Daichi Kangoku no Jutsu or the Earth Prison Technique. Taking only a few minutes to read the scroll and fully understand the entirety of the technique or at least to get the most basic of understandings of the technique. The only way for a person to gain full mastery and understanding of a technique was to train, to use it in real combat and see all of its potential applications laid out in front of him.

He then began, almost without thinking, to form handseals. The handseals came slowly this first time, but it didn’t take long to form them and soon he was at the last handseal, involving that of holding the rabbit handseal. As he formed his handseals prior he had fed chakra through his body, from the core of his very person down through his feet. Then he picked an item to be entrapped by his technique.

Almost without thinking, the ground around a nearby tree rumbled, a circle appearing around it on the ground, the circle was made of cracks, then suddenly another outer circle appeared, and before any other thoughts could register to Hitora watched as a series of walls appeared around the tree, the diameter between them being three meters. Hitora continued to focus chakra through his body and out of his feet into the earth beneath him. He watched as the earth came from the ground, rising to be taller than even he was.

The earthen walls rose to be four meters in height without a top, as the technique warned it would. He felt confident in it, yet it at this point didn’t look like much of a prison cell with each wall being separated still, then almost as if in reaction to that thought, the walls of the cell began to extend, sealing the walls of it and looking as if it were all organically made into that shape. Hitora smiled and walked up to the thick wall of earth and rock.

Once he had reached the walls, he placed his gloved hand upon its surface and began to walk around it, looking for any inconsistencies in the walls themselves, he smiled feeling that it was complete as is, the walls felt strong like they could repel the basic attacks that the scroll said only one practice with it would produce, but he was still happy with what he’d created this day.

Hitora decided that he could stand to practice the technique a bit more before deciding on whether or not he’d move on to the next technique. Hitora then began to fly through the handseals once more his hands a flurry of motion as he created some handseals. As he formed the handseals he gathered chakra of the earthen nature in his very core, his centermost being.

As he formed the last handseal, the rabbit seal, and held it for several seconds. As he did he gently guided the chakra from his body down through his hips, through his legs and finally out through his feet through the ground. As he continued to do so, he watched as around one of the tree’s in front of him the ground began to crack.

The cracks formed two perfect circles in the ground, soon thereafter the ground suddenly raised from its position up four meters into the air, though they were perfect walls. The walls kept a range of three meters from the tree at all times all the way around the circular walls. Once the wall was erected, Hitora released the handseals, and looked at his handiwork on the two trees.

Two perfect prison wall sets for the “evil” tree’s. Hitora allowed a small smile to come upon his face as he did so. He knew the walls were weak and wouldn’t be able to hold bag against much of an attack, but it would be more than enough to slow someone down most of the time.
