[Yeah, I used Soul Shunt. I’ll post what all was entailed with that. I would have edited it in, but Isley posted before I could. With these two supplement techs, the mere thought was the equivalent of the time it would take for the D-rank set of handseals at my rank, as they take far less than a second to complete. Not instantaneous, no, but pretty dang fast.]
He would get no information from a quick examination of the zombie, beyond what he already knew, which he could plainly see. But it mattered not, for the power coursing through his body now must surely glow like a beacon. Paladin died as the light had faded, forfeiting their souls up unto Belial, and he drank of their poultice. Grand was the feeling of such power, such divine right, and it was this nectar that would carry him through to the final hour in this chapter of struggle. Fortunately, if he ever ran low, there was plenty to reinforce what was lost, as if the supply was never ending. He would have to thank the paladins later, maybe, if that damn creature would leave him alone. He watched as Fugato landed some unknown distance away and prepared.
A blast of wind escaped from Fugato once more, another cone, the force of it ripping paladin and the undead from the city to fling them at Belial. A thought occurred to him then, a way to speed his travels a bit, without having to use any more force than was necessary and keep himself as energized as he was now. As the winds came, he opened his wings, which had still not been retracted, but merely draped around his body. The golden wings beat powerfully as Belial leaped backward, lifting him at an angle, so that his body was at a slight diagonal toward the rooftop he had previously roosted upon.
Bodies of the living and the dead would crash throughout the city, slamming into walls and bursting through windows, as well as landing on their fellows that had managed to escape such devastation. It did seem that those that weren’t slammed into anything solid were perfectly fine, until that time which they would return to the earth, and thus slam into something solid. Belial would not have that problem and as the winds came, his wings would catch that which dissipated from the original technique, riding it like an updraft from a sea breeze as he climbed higher. A swift rotation of his body, closing his wings and then popping them back open swiftly before any loss of altitude put him facing toward his true target. Festarl. He honestly didn’t feel like dealing with the large tech spamming zombie at the moment.
As he flew, making sure to keep an eye on both Festarl and Fugato, Belial flipped through the animal zodiac hand combinations that he had learned through his time watching the humans. Chakra, the strange aether that seemed to permeate the very air, gathered around him and took form upon him and him alone. His ability to strike was stronger, his will greater, and his ability more defined, as if the very embodiment of heroism. But he was not finished. Swiftness was a necessity in ending this nonsense, and the next set of what the humans called handseals played out before him, like some puppet theater zoo. He found that he became faster, much faster, as if he could run like the wind itself; or fly in this case. These powers melded into his form and would last for quite some time, although the swift movement was more of a mere burst than a long lasting benefit, it would do the job of getting him to Festarl in some semblance of quickness.
