[Chuunin Examiner 4]

Corridor J

A simple corridor unfolded between those who passed through the door. Nothing seemed to come at them as they entered as the room was simple, despite the fact that the floor seemed to be covered in different liquids. In some spots it looked like water, in others oil, in others milk. Overall, it just looked like large white spots here and there, large orange spots in other places, clear liquid that seemed to make up the majority of it. But it was difficult to try and stick to one liquid as it was very sporadic in the way it changed. It was actually a strange looking room as the actual floor of the room was sunken in just a little. Nothing too drastic. Just enough to contain the liquid in the corridor without causing it to spill into the room behind them.

The corridor itself was made of the same material as the room prior. The room's walls were sort of wavy as they went forward before a distinct turn was made (As another wall could be seen at the other end, but the liquid continued in a turning fashion). It was impossible to see what was beyond this turn with the naked eye unless you went down that way.

The walls were separated by about 10 feet, with roughly 40 feet before hitting the wall that could be seen at the end (Where the turn was). The liquid showed no signs of being dangerous. Most likely just something that was there for annoyance purposes. Or to make people question just how dangerous it was.

(Sorry if the description regarding the liquid is difficult. It's hard to state just how it's laid out. If it's too confusing to make a post for it, then just let me know. 2 Day IIC as normal. I'm going to give a little extra time to ensure that everyone who was planning on moving through the door would end up doing so.)

[Hitora Ryunobu (Uchiha)]

Entering the corridor, the first thing that Hitora noticed was that there were small puddles of some weird liquid splashed all throughout the area. He couldn’t quite tell at a glance what they were and decided to walk up to some of them, each puddle in fact, and observe it for any strange similarities to other bodies of liquid he’d heard of before as well as to find out if they had any kind of motive or not.

The young man started to regret his decision to come into this room, as of right now alone, because what if these were all traps? Something that an opponent could use against him in a fight? Then again, what if one of his other “teammates” were actually plants by the exam to try to weed out the weak or to just kill as many as they could, he had to be alone or at least not in such a vulnerable spot as to be surrounded on all sides by potential enemies.

The young man sighed softly, looking around the corridor, slowly walking its length trying to avoid touching the liquid for fear of it having acidic properties. He was looking for any means of a way out, anything at all to continue his journey through this labyrinth of hell. He also began to wonder just what the walls were made of and if he could blow through them with an attack of his. He turned his observation to the walls after observing all the liquids…

//Enter

Clad in an all-black outfit with absolutely no weapons on my person, I stand directly at the threshold of the room, my back facing the other room with the Dragon and remaining competitors present. As I surveyed the room, the flooring was caked in unusual liquids, smeared around the sunken-in floor before the hall moved into a bit of a bend at the edge. Frowning, I step to my left and press myself against the wall and knell down to inspect the flooring a little more closely. Hitora was standing inside the hall, inspecting the liquid. He seemed brave enough to walk upon the other liquids that covered this indented flooring so I presumed it was alright to walk upon.

The way that the liquids had been positioned suggested that they had been spilled carefully, or had pooled out from some kind of source below (referring to the large puddles of liquid only). Could that mean that there was some sort of plug in the floor that pushed up liquid? Was it capable of draining the liquid as well? Assuming there were plugs that was. Narrowing my eyes, I glance toward the wall to the left of me and stare at that a few moments. Hitora seemed fine, however I wasn’t betting on myself walking along the ground too encase the flooring supported a limited amount of weight.

So, rather than following suit, I focus a small amount of my chakra into the soles of both my feet and leap up onto the ceiling within the middle directly above the threshold. Since the door opened into the previous room, I was able to hang beneath the doorway without hitting my head on the door frame. The ceiling didn’t have the liquid plastered everywhere (as it wasn’t mentioned in the examiner’s post) so I walked down the centre of the ceiling and stopped just above Hitora’s head. After a few moments, I knell down so that my fingertips touched the ceiling. “Anything you find in the liquid?” I whisper toward the Ame shinobi. Where the fairy man was, I did not know at this point.

Should anything weird happen around Hitora’s feet, say.. The flooring giving way beneath him, I would grab him by the underarms and lift him off the ground.

[OOC: Was trying to give a little more time to see if anyone else was joining. Seeing as that isn't the case, I'm posting now. For now, it's just the two of you. If any other join, then so be it.]

There wasn't really anything to be seen from the liquids. There was nothing hidden underneath, as they were fairly see-through. One thing to note was that the liquids didn't seem to move around. They didn't merge with one another as time went on. It was almost as if the individual liquids repelled one another.

The walls wouldn't reveal anything either. They were the same as the room they had just come through and would be a material that Hitora wouldn't have seen. Even with any observation skills, nothing was there to be seen.

There also wasn't any specific dimensions to the various liquids. They were scattered all throughout one another, but nothing seemed to be dangerous. Perhaps it was just something there to make the others overthink things?

Viscosity wise, it was impossible to tell just by looking at it. Considering the liquid was stationary in it's current state, there was nothing to show how it moved in a means to test the viscosity. So after walking on it (Assuming I read that correctly from Hitora's post), he would notice that they acted a lot like water. And even touching any of it didn't seem to do anything. Just a sort of liquid to coat his hand. No acidic properties, no strange smells, nothing along those lines. It was just... Liquid.

The ceiling would hold for a moment with the Kage's feet, but then the material itself would seem to inhibit chakra. If she wasn't quick to move, she would just fall from the ceiling within a few seconds. It didn't do anything to those standing near it, but it seemed to almost absorb her chakra as she stood on the ceiling. She would feel it by first noticing that her hold isn't as strong, giving her the chance to make it back to the shallow doorway that gave the only spot to stand that wasn't covered in liquid, or made of the chakra inhibiting walls.

[Hitora Ryunobu (Uchiha)]

After wiping his hands of the strange liquid from his gloved hands the young Rain shinobi looked up at the woman who stuck to the ceiling for a moment and started to say “I can detect nothing strange about the liquid but that does not mean that its one hundred percent safe yet.” He then got the feeling that something would happen soon and moved to be closer to the woman.

He had no real clue who she was but right now he had to trust that she wasn’t looking to end his life nor that she wanted to prevent him from advancing to Chuunin. The young man continued to look around before focusing his attention to the young woman with the orange hair, he began to observe her but not for physical reasons but instead to try to get an idea for her motives.

He wondered if she would try to attack him or if she would attempt to cause him harm. The young man would, should the woman not be a danger or be in danger, walk to the other side of the room slowly. He was looking for any clear denotations of a change in area. In other words he was looking for a door or another hallway that lead out of the room the two were currently in.

[Natsy]

Almost immediately once my feet had touched the roof I felt different. I felt like I was exerting far too much chakra for such a simple task. It took one and a half second to realize that the ceiling had chakra draining properties. I drop to the floor by throwing myself forward once I ceased the chakra flow. My body had flung itself forward before the heels of my shoes struck the liquid coated floor, bending at the knees as I did so. That was when Hitora spoke of seeing nothing dangerous about the liquid.

“Alright. Stay away from the walls and ceiling, it drains chakra.” I said, thinking it far to exchange this information since he exchanged his first. I also lean in so that my mouth was inches from his ear, “Let that be our little secret.” I say before following Hitora down the hall, taking light steps as I did do. The thought of growing my wings was surfacing, yet I wasn’t quite ready for that revelation just yet; the little this guy knew about me, the better. Hitora was at least fifty centimetres ahead of me as I approached him veering slightly to the left.

My exact positioning within this forty foot long hall was exactly one hundred and fifty centimetres within the ten foot wide distance. That meant I was positioned directly in the middle of the walk-way moving fifty centimetres behind Hitora as we ventured down the hall. Just what was around that corner was the million Ryo question. The primary reason for walking behind this genin was due to the fact that should anything leap out into the hall, he was probably going to be the first to greet it. All the while, a small micro-amount of my chakra was surging casually up into my forehead while I tested the amount of chakra lost by standing on the ceiling.

As the two continued on, nothing jumped out at them. It seemed to be a pretty straightforward path here, aside from the bend in the pathway of course.

Up ahead, the blue liquid they had been walking on tapered off. To the left was a white liquid, to the right was a green liquid, and directly ahead was the red liquid. The blue liquid continued on on the opposite side of the red liquid, but would require a jump to make it past. But the liquids still showed no danger to them. They remained mostly stationary as they were walked on by the shinobi.

Hitora's sensing skills wouldn't sense anything amiss from the Takikage as they moved forward.

Damn, she's completely unreadable, I guess I'll have to trust the young woman for now, though she isn't half bad too look at if I do say so...No, stay true to Jasmine you idiot!" would be the thought running through the younger man's mind as he hit himself on top of his head at the last bit of the thought. He sighed and continued to walk forwards.

Once he walked around the slow bend of the corridor the young man would notice that the small puddles would cease and there would be three differently colored liquids one red, one white and one green. On the other side of a small chasm the blue would continue on once again. Looking to the side of the chasm that the blue would in theory connect to it would be the one bordering the red liquid.

Approching it, the young man would look at it closely again, wondering if this liquid was dangerous or if it was merely a strange liquid. He wasn't sure, he looked to his new and temporary companion and said "So, we have a choice I suppose. We can try to jump this chasm and continue with the blue liquid or see if there are any paths to follow with the white or green ones, what do you think we should do?" Hitora knew that he'd be travelling with this woman for a while more so getting her input on important decisions early on would facilitate them later on so that he could fight better alongside her should it come to that.

[Natsy]

So far nothing seemed worrisome. Everything stayed still except for Hitora and myself as we moved through the hallway. I was curious about what was around the corner, but as Hitora moved forward he didn’t make any movements or signs that anything bad was present. This was another good thing, and so I relaxed a little. The blue liquid thinned out, but a white liquid was to my left while a green liquid was to my right. But directly ahead I noticed a red liquid with the remnants of the blue liquid on the opposite side of it. It seemed enough to leap over without trampling through it, but what was Hitora going to do?

Seeing him face-palm himself earned a tilt of the head from me. What was he thinking about? Did he forget something that he was supposed to bring to these exams? Did he forget to ask me something? I did not know, nor did I care at this point. Watching Hitora approach one of the liquids before addressing me with a choice. Personally, the green and white liquids held no interest for me, but the blue liquid was thinning out. That thinning out could lead to another door or freedom. “I say we follow the blue trail.”

No explanations, no hesitation, just a straight answer. I wanted out of this hall quickly.

[OOC: Sorry for holding you up. I hadn't posted because I thought you hadn't actually done anything yet. Then I saw that you were doing an Observation check. Nothing else has changed from this room, so feel free to carry on. If you go through a round of just talking again, then you can keep posting until you actually choose an action and do it.

I will say this however... There isn't a chasm. Just red liquid in front of your path. To the left is white, to the right is green. But there isn't like... a hole or anything that you need to cross over. And the liquids are still the same that you had seen toward the door. Nothing has changed about them, so Observation will not help you here]

Shrugging his shoulders slightly and still not totally trusting the strange liquid the young Uchiha would make a quick leap over the red liquid. Once he was on the other side he would wait for the woman with the orange hair to cross the same strange liquid before quickly turning back towards the corridor’s continuing path, marked with the blue liquid.

“So, what do you do from whatever village you’re from miss…?” The young man allowed his sentence to trail off on purpose so she could fill in her name if she felt like it, even a fake name would be better so that he wouldn’t call her “girl” or “woman” or “red-head with the huge tits” on accident….

Following Hitora’s lead, I leap over the liquid and land swiftly on the other side to Hitora’s right. But at his question, I was held up short. There was nothing that I wanted to tell him about myself without exposing the fact that I am the Godaime Takikage. For a split second my expression hardened before a slight burning in my forehead where the rhombus was sucking chakra, gave me an idea. “I am second in command at my village’s hospital.” I explain before adding: “Rosalie. My name is Rosalie.” I said with a smile.

As we continued forward, my attention scanned the hall, floor and ceiling. What was beyond the corner? For a moment I cross in front of Hitora toward the left of the hall, stopping just short of the bend leading to the area hidden by the corner. I didn’t want to press my back up against the wall without having my chakra drained, so I was forced to lay in the liquid. Great. However, before laying down, my attention shifted toward the Ame shinobi. “Rather than exposing ourselves to whatever may be around that corner, I need you to… Watch my body for the next few seconds.” I said somewhat hesitantly.

“I have the ability to send my mind out of my body for a certain amount of time, but the drawback is that my body is completely useless. Now, I am trusting you, a complete stranger on this. I will be able to see you while being in suspension, so if I manage to return to my body in time to find you attempting to harm me in any way, I will render you useless for the remainder of these exams. In truth, I do not wish to kill or harm anyone, only to become chuunin. But if you force my hand, I will end you.” I said, fully facing him now. I honestly didn’t want to kill this guy, he seemed genuine enough for me. Even with the fact that he is allied to a village who was an ally of mine. Damn you Mitsukai!

“So, please allow me propose a truce of some sort..” I pause briefly, scanning the man with the mask. “I will protect you throughout these exams until we are forced to go our separate ways. And in return you protect me. Watch each others backs like a temporary alliance per say.” I said, extending my right arm to seal the deal. “I am extremely useful as a medic and will assist you should you be harmed. So if you protect me, I will protect you. Deal?” I ask, wondering what this man will do now that he knows I am valuable with my ability to heal.

Should he accept the terms and become a temporary ally, I will shake his hand and lay down on the floor to the left of the hall. The Mind Spy technique would then be cast by my hands taking the oval handseal and aiming toward the opposite end of the corner. As a result, I will be able to move about the hall freely and unseen while my body remained comatose on the floor, open to attack and vulnerable. In this suspended form, I would venture around the corner of the hall and examine what lay beyond it. This whole ordeal should take no more than three seconds before I return to my body to report my findings.

If Hitora refuses my proposal for the temporary alliance, I would then take my chances and round the corner by peeking around the side of the corner and catching only a glimpse of what lays beyond our sight and brewing over the fact that I had exposed a hidden part of me to someone I don't trust.

Hitora would listen to the young woman as she said her first name as well as her post as second in command of her village’s hospital. The young Uchiha didn’t know what her village was, or anything like that, but she definitely seemed to be strong enough to be such a person. Hitora would follow her lead on their continuing journey through the long corridor that seemed to never end.

When they reached a corner the young woman instantly decided to not only trust a man she only met that day, if it was still the same day as they had all arrived at the exam location, and to also make a temporary alliance with him. When she extended her arm to seal the deal the young man gently, yet firmly, grabbed her hand and shook it in a sign of acceptance and willingness to protect her to the best of his abilities.

When the young woman with the plan got into position to use her technique Hitora would stand in a position to impose himself and practically watch almost every possible angle that one could use to attack them.

With the abilities shown by the Kage, she would be able to look on ahead to see what was just around the corner. What was there might surprise her, however... Up ahead was a door. Nothing special about it. Just a door. The liquids continued ahead for a little while, roughly 40 more feet, but then there was the same amount of solid path on the other end before reaching the door in question.

When she would come to, she'd be able to relay this information. However, hidden beneath the liquid's surface, alongside the ledge right before the new door, fans started to spin. It wasn't fast, and there wasn't any noise to accompany it, but the liquids would slowly start shifting around at that end. It wasn't far enough for them to see unless they went more around the corner, but once they made it around the corner, they would see it starting to shift, and shifting getting even faster.

Hitora accepted my proposal which left me feeling giddy. At least I had someone to watch my back for the time being. After stepping away from him and sitting down on the floor, Hitora would be able to see the large Takigakure insignia imprinted upon the centre of my black shirt in golden thread before I lay down upon my back, performing the oval handseal as I did so. However, the moment my mind was expelled from my body, it was cast out into the room while my body slumped onto the floor, laying there still as death. If Okuda moved forward to inspect me, he would be able to see that my chest was raising and falling in a steady rhythm, yet I was completely unresponsive.

Meanwhile, I would walk fully around the corner and began scanning the hall through the eyes of a medic. To my surprise there was nothing threatening about this hall at all. An ordinary looking door stood at the end of the hall while the liquid continued to run down along the floor like it did around the bend. My mind quickly made the calculations on the distance and noted that it was 40 feet in length. The liquid’s amount appeared the same yet there was a solid path leading up to the door. Closing my eyes and performing the handseal once again, my mind quickly shot back into my body before I jerked upright.

Climbing to my feet took a brief second before the words started: “Alright, around that corner everything appears to be the same. There is that liquid laying all over the floor, but after forty feet there is a solid surface before reaching another door. Now, the door looks ordinary but it won't hurt to keep your eyes and ears peeled for anything. Maybe your observational skills will come in handy?” I explain, moving around the corner with a little more confidence. Yes, I lacked observational skill in scanning objects, but not with humans.

However once I reached at least twenty feet down the hall, I would begin to notice that the liquids were starting to shift and move around. Concerned, my hands moved up to perform a single handseal, thus activating my mind’s eye. My abilities as a sensor would travel toward the end of the room while I attempted to see if the door had any special properties. If the door was indeed as ordinary as it looked, my hands would race through a chain of handseals before my right hand was bought up to my mouth.

After a brief inhalation, a large fireball would shoot from my mouth and engulf the entire hallway before exploding once it came into contact with the door. Despite not knowing what was causing the liquid to move, there was a good chance that whatever was responsible for it would be damaged by the fire. But my primary target at this time was the door. If it was blown wide open, I would not be waiting for whatever was making the liquid move; instead I would bolt down the hall and through the door hopefully with Hitora following closely behind…

Description: This skill is used in conjunction with Mind’s Eye of the Kagura. This passive ability allows the user to differentiate between separate chakra signatures. A person will be able to tell if the chakra is that of a human or an animal. Also once the user sees an individual’s chakra signature once they will automatically recognize that persons chakra signature from then on.
Limit: Must know Mind’s Eye of Kagura.

Effect: The user is capable of performing a few handseals in which gives them the capability of blowing a large body of fire in size of a large sphere that has great fire proportions and explosive capabilities.

Drawback: Depending on the Rank, is dependent on how strong or how much the user is capable of doing with the Goukakyuu no Jutsu.
Description: The user quickly performs a few handseals. The user then places the hand over their mouth creating a small like circle. This technique in turn is then to help the user control the great flame. The use then blows out and creates a large fireball that twice the size of a normal human body. When the "C" Rank version is first learned the user is only capable of blowing out the Great Fireball that is cannot be moved or go anywhere else. This also means that the technique does not explode in a fiery explosion, but burns greatly to anyone that is caught within the technique. When the user learns the "B" Rank version then the user is capable blowing the Great Fireball into the distance, sending it away from the use it to hurl towards the very opponent. This technique is only capable of going into a straight line and this is capable of having the size three times the size of a human body. This technique when launched at an opponent then becomes dangerous because at this point the technique can explode causing damage that is even more devastating.

[Hitora Ryunobu (Uchiha)]

Hitora would watch the body of the woman, all he knew of her so far was that she had a HUGE chest and that she was from Takigakure, and apparently that she could use mind and soul based ninjutsu. It was no real matter to him right now, unless he had to fight the woman later on down the road which meant the more she disclosed about herself now the better. Hitora would continue to watch her body until she returned.

When she returned suddenly, Hitora jumped a bit not expecting it. He listened as she explained what she had seen while she was apparently walking the astral plane. Hitora then stood up and would begin to follow her walking down the hold, he would then watch as she made more handseals and would do more observations through her abilities.

Hitora himself would keep his eyes and ears peeled as she suggested, he would then watch as she made more handseals before breathing out a large ball of fire, that if left unmolested would collide with the door and hopefully explode, apparently her plan was to blow the door wide open. He could get behind that plan and would continue to follow closely behind her should she go into the room at top speed.

As soon as the ball exploded, if it did, he would say “Good fire ball, very nicely done.” it was praise from a man whose family lineage was all about fireballs and other fire based attacks in general.

Description: Can be learned by an Animal. A failed check indicates that the character is oblivious until the thing is pointed out to him. This skill is important for ferreting out advancing enemies or ambushes, generally real-time events and actions occurring, versus scrutiny, which covers static objects or areas. A Game Master may roll an Observation skill check for a Character any time there is an NPC, monster, event or happening that a character might notice, even if he did not specifically state that he is monitoring his surroundings. Characters are capable of noticing any event within their perception. Observation reveals only facts, not motivation. Each time learned user gets 1 die roll to increase the skill. If you are Schooled in Anthropology you gain a +10% synergy bonus with Observation checks that involve noticing disguise checks.

[Chuunin Examiner]

A loud gong echoed through the areas around. It vibrated against the walls. Loud clicks and clanks could be heard as if something was triggered but everyone was safe and sound. Lights would appear along the walls as Chakra forms of Light. Then a bell would ring as a voice could be heard right after.

"The time is over, exams are over. Those who have not exited please follow light, and exit, there you will find your previous weaponry. Thank you and we hope you enjoyed the Exams."

(Basically you all can exit, do a little post saying you followed the light, and then leave. You can interact with each other if you like but once you exit. Basically you were stuck in a giant Tomb with each other. You were able to interact with each other. There are two levels, most if not all are on the 1st level below ground, and then you would have gotten to the ground floor. From there you can find multiple exits out of this area.

We will notify at a later date who is eligible to become a Chunin. The exams was stopped short due to some issues at hand.)

Is This It? Just after my ball hit the door at the edge of the hall, Hitora complimented. My attention shifted from the door to the young man from Amegakue. “Thanks.” I said softly before a gong started ringing. The walls vibrated against the sound which caused me to cover my ears. Seriously, you’d think the examiners were deaf themselves! But at the sound of a voice explaining that the exams are over, I let out a sigh of relief. Someone must have found the exit. When the lights came up, I turned once more to my companion. “Let’s get out of here.” I said before turning and following the lights out of this room. It appears that this place was on various levels and that the final level was where the weapons were located. Hurrying over, I grab my weapons and put them all in their correct areas after putting the cloak back on and shoving the weapons in the slots of the cloak. My eyes also searched the areas for the shinobi. Where are they? Did they survive after the split up? “About damn time.” was all that Hitora could say after the announcement was made that the exams were in essence over, whether someone made it out or if there was just some unknown clock that ran out he didn’t know. Hitora followed the woman and the lights to where the weapons and items were kept and found a box with his name on it. He then proceeded to place all the items back into where they were normally stored.

He then found the way out of the building and followed it, wondering where it would lead him to after all of this was said and done, then it hit him that he didn’t make much progress in getting out as far as he could figure and became slightly dejected at the prospect of returning to the village without being labelled a Chuunin or worse getting back and finding out there that he wasn’t to be advanced or worse yet that Jasmine would leave him behind in rank and rise through them herself…
