Pulling Away
Rank: "C"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: A technique used in which the user measures an attack's length, and pulls away by bending their back backwards allowing to be used for counter attacks, or just simply an evasion.
Special: ---
Drawback: If a user is unable to predict the length of an attack, the user could very well get hit by an attack.
Description: Picture The opponent makes an attacked such as a straight, or a hook. The attack must be a mid straight or under over attack such as an uppercut. An over under attack such as the overhand punch will work against the pulling away. For those types of attacks it is best to slip inside or outside an attack. When an opponent attacks the user bends backwards away from the attack or steps back away from an attack. This defense is great against overreaching attacks. When the opponent makes his mark the user must determine the length of the attack. Once determined they are able to dodge the attack by doing what was stated earlier.
Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch
Finally decided to punch back eh? Tetsu thought to himself as his shitty ass jab did exactly as he thought it would, a heck of a lot of nothing. This fellow was obviously finally ready to rumble as Tetsu watched his shoulder move in a way that reminded him of a jab; however it was slightly off somehow, as if it was not an actual jab. Tetsu quickly took a step back with his left foot as he let his right lead, pulling his head back as he let the punch extend forwards without any worry. It was in this instant that Tetsu was about to move that he looked at the fellow’s arm, using this opportunity to measure the fellow’s range. Tetsu knew that he would have to avoid the entire extent of the fellow’s punch range if he was to have any hopes of successfully avoiding the punch. “So you’re finally hitting back?” Tetsu said as he leaned his back backwards, moving mostly his head as he kept his balance firm on his toes.
Tetsu’s backwards momentum could easily be turned into a jump away if he needed to, however since this was just a jab, it was not something extremely worry some. Tetsu raised his left glove up by his face as he decided to use it as a block if the punch actually did have the extended range that he had not expected. Tetsu continued his backwards motion as he committed to it by stepping his left foot backwards, which not only oved his face backwards, but also his torso. He was now in a south paw stance as his stance returned to its upright posture. “You’re pretty good.” he said as his head avoided the punch that had been thrown at him. Tetsu was sure that he could avoid the hit as he returned to a fighting posture once again unharmed by the punch the fellow had just thrown.
Tetsu continued to think about the range of one’s punches as he visualized the movement he had just preformed in his head. He saw how the fellow was using his jab, testing his range for the first time as he bent his body and head backwards to avoid the hit. He could have made it more effective by putting more balance into the movement, to not only increase how quickly he did it, but also who stable his body would be when he performed the backwards evasive motion. Tetsu decided that it was now his turn to play on the defensive as the fellow had finally decided to start fighting back with some actual attacks opposed to the counters. This was going to make boxing him much more interesting as he regained his stances balance once again watching the fellow’s shoulders and feet to keep an eye on how he was going to move. Tetsu took a deep breath as he visualized possible moves the fellow could do, one of which being a repeat of what had just happened.
Tetsu visualized himself avoiding the jab in the same manner he had the first time, leaning his body backwards, and pushing his head just out of the range of the punch itself. Tetsu was very calculated as he thought about how he would avoid another punch from the interesting character. He was still more towards the center of the ring, so he wasn’t worried about running into the ropes anytime soon as he ran each evasive tactic for each move this fellow could pull off in his head. Tetsu was ready for him.
