Back Position: Movement on the Ground
Rank: "E"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: An attacker may try to scramble around to get at vital parts of your body. Your goal is to keep your feet between your body/head and the attacker. When a correct groundfighting position is taken, only the small of the back and one foot touch the ground, allowing for easier turning.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Starting Position Back Position. Use your planted foot to turn and stop. Keep the foot closest to the attacker up for kicking purposes-e.g., if the attacker is circling to your left pull your left foot up and use the right to turn. This makes it more difficult for the attacker to get around your guard.
Variation If the attacker is at some distance, you may use your hands for faster and more controlled turn
Limit: Must learn from a Master of Krav Maga. Must know Back Position.
Tetsu had to keep moving if he was to have any hope of taking Claire on. He wasn’t very well versed in ground fighting, and at this point he had thought they were going to take it slow. He had thought wrong. Using his hands to roll his body to the side as he did his absolute best to angle himself towards his attacker. The concept of movement on the ground was important to understand as it would allow the defender to move away and move around an attacker when needed. Keeping his back flat against the ground and his leading leg planted with the other knee cocked up to his chest to respond with a kick, he was glad that Claire had given him hot moment to breath. “Yeah I need a minute, I wasn’t ready to be hurled.” Tetsu commented as he used his hands to push himself backwards to further the distance between them. It wasn’t quite safe to get up yet, but he did feel that his understanding of ground mobility was improving. All he had to do was keep his posture well set and move his body when needed, which would allow him for much greater ground based tactics. Being knocked over would not prove to be a death sentence at this point.
Inhaling a deep breath, Tetsu would prepare himself for the likely onslaught that would continue from Claire, as she wasn’t really one to hold back. “Alright, I’m good go ahead.” Tetsu would assure his partner as he kept his body along the ground, his foot planted as he would do his best to remain focused. His pressure was applied to his back shoulder and his foot that was planted on the ground. The concept of having a strong base was ever prevalent as he moved his body to the point where he could get a good angle on Claire, keeping her facing him at all times. She seemed to be throwing weak kicks at him, And Tetsu simply moved his body to the side to get out of the way. He wasn’t feeling all that well yet, and to be honest, he was moving himself so that he could recover. Claire was actually holding back, Tetsu realized as he rolled out of the way again, using the concept of ground movement to avoid them lightly as he just moved his body. He would have to roll to the side eventually as he began processing his next thoughts into actual forms as he prepared to roll onto his side and attempt another maneuver.
