Taking note of Shiki's retreival technique, Claire smirked.

"Neat trick, and thanks for digging those out for me."

With that, she ejected the magazine from her Blazefire Saber's grip and pulled a new one. These penetrating rounds would strike with extreme force and pierce their way deep into its flesh, shredding everything in their path.

Locking in with a quiet click, the magazine was secured and she could take aim. It was all guesstimation of course, but she fired another dozen times at every point she thought might potentially house an organ in order to maximize the damage. With the iron wall on the other side and Shiki's magnetic skills, she didn't need to worry about getting them back, though cleaning them would be a different issue.

Shiki saw the rounds moving at the worm. It was on it's death throws for sure. Claire was a skilled marksman... erm markswoman. But she had no idea where she needed to be shooting at the creature. Shiki focused on his bloodlimit and using his gauntlets as a center piece he would give each of her rounds just a little bit to make sure that it struck an artery. Shiki smiled as he saw the rounds actually find their mark. A massive pool of blood was forming on the ground underneath the monster. It fell to the floor limp. "Nice work there Claire." Shiki said. "Neat toy." Shiki didn't use the term toy as an insult. Rather he just equated its use something close to play.

Shiki sighed as he looked over and grabbed a flier off of the wall. It seems there was another mission he could go on in the mean time. He smiled and saw that Claire still happened to be there. He smiled because he knew exactly where they wanted to go. He used to go swimming in these exact waters. Shiki smiled as he grabbed the paper and turned to Claire. "Up for a swim?" Shiki said with a bit of playfulness on his voice. "That's assuming you are up for another hunt that is."

Description: Also known as Ruby Caltrop. Urchins are marine creatures that resemble 3-foot diameter balls of spikes. The creatures can fire these spokes as a defense. They will always be encountered in or within a half mile of the ocean. All Urchins can fire their spikes as a crossbow doing 8 Armour Points of Piercing Damage. All Urchins have the power of Clairvoyance (Allows the user to see what is happening in a certain locale), and use this ability to hunt. They do not specifically target bipeds unless attacked by them. In the water, the creatures can move quickly by shooting jets of water from the mounts of the underside of their bodies. Red Urchins can fire up to 3 spines per round. Additionally victims struck must make a save or fall asleep for 1d4 rounds. Urchins primarily hunt fish and small game. They can breathe air and water equally well, but prefer to stay in the ocean. Very rarely, Urchins move their lairs into a dungeon that has access to seawater. The races of Giant Urchins were created by an ancient alchemist known as the Sea Bastard. Presumably, gems were a key ingredient in their creations. Whether they intentionally seeded the oceans with them or they escaped remains unknown.

Axel would sigh as he entered the building while stretching a bit. His crimson eyes would look over the small assortment of people with no real regard as he pulled his new book out reading it for the second time. Although something about the people called out to him and as he lowered his book he saw a familiar tuft of white hair and an equally familiar swath of pink locks.

"Shiki? That you?" Axel would call out as he walked over to him before leaning on his shoulder and Claire's. "And my second favorite pinkette."

"What are you up to?" Axel would grin playful looking over the flier Shiki had grabbed while his own Book of Metals was in the hand that was draped over Shiki's shoulder.

Shiki smiled as he saw Axel. It had been a long time since he last saw him. Shiki smiled as he realized that Claire and Axel apparently knew each other. Shiki saw Wolfie holding the book and he gave a small grin. "I was just telling Claire that we should all go on a mission." Shiki said with a smile. It was nice to have friends around. Shiki focused on the book for a few seconds before he finally spoke again. "You erm... have a book. Here I was thinking that you couldn't read." Shiki said grinning at his own stupid joke.

"That's cold man..." Axel would glare faintly at the magnetian before leaning back off of them. "Well I don't mind tagging along, I'm here till dusk."

Axel would let the sleight roll off his back before glancing at the book, he knew Shiki's power so he wondered if he would be interested in the different qualities of ores as well so he would hold out the book towards him obviously battle-worn but in a good way. "I found this a while back before my ferryman came here, wanna check it out?"

"I'm not much of a book person myself honestly." Shiki said as he looked over at the book. "Unless the book is about metal, electricity or monsters im afraid I won't find much value in it." Shiki said a bit dismissively. Shiki thought about having axel around as they went on a mission. Shiki smiled as he looked over at Axel. "I'm okay with having you around. I could use the back up." Shiki said with a small smile.

"It's about metals actually, and there's one metal that produces it's own electrical current." Axel commented looking over the book while Shiki said he wouldn't mind him going with for the mission. "You know about, well, me so I was thinking about adding more ore to my arsenal, thought you'd find it cool too."

After letting Shiki have another reach for the book Axel would take the flier over to the counter to have it verified before looking to Shiki and Claire to see if they were ready. Meanwhile Axel would check his black garb for his gear before creating a few seals and forming a copy of himself beside him.

"I do like metal..." Shiki said before he grabbed a coin satchel that he had. He tossed the bag to Axel in exchange for the book. "I hope thats enough." Shiki said as he started to look through the book. He pocketed it for later use before moving over to the door. "Let us know if you want to come Claire. We can figure all this out before we get moving." Shiki said as he grabbed one last drink at the bar. He finished the drink with a smile on his face as the whiskey burned his throat.

Claire patiently allowed the boys to have their chat, leaning against a wall with her arms folded under her bust. One eyebrow was raised.

When they finished their transaction, she raised a hand for their attention.

"Hey, what's with the 'second' bit? I should be at the top of the list. For one thing its not like natural rose is exactly common, and for another I'm awesome dammit! Oh well, I guess it's only fair since you're my least favorite ginger," she claimed with a smirk.

A gripe, but one made in the name of good fun. In truth, this man was actually the only redhead she knew. Leaf was full of people with dark hair, aside from the blonde Kinzoku. And she knew Shiki. Definitely not a firemane. So while it meant that he was indeed her least favorite, he was ALSO her favorite. Not exactly a lot of competition for either title.

Before Shiki took the book he handed Axel a sack of ryo and while his first instinct was to deny the action he bounced his hand slightly feeling how much money was in it and shrugged. All in all Axel had already gotten all the info from the book as he wanted so he would let it go and shrug before pocketing the money while Claire and Shiki moved. Although Claire wanted her piece as well and gained their attention before making a gripe about why she wasn't his first favorite to which he just grinned and patted her head.

"Because I'm not in love with you," Axel would quip back with an equal smirk however as she said she hadn't caught his name his grin would lessen a bit. "Axel, got it memorized?"

Shiki smiled and decided to take a sip of his drink. He was getting a bit inebriated to tell the truth. It would explain the quarter million Ryo purchase. Shiki smiled as he looked over at the two of them. "Guys... I'm... Really bored." Shiki said a bit playfully with an excessive amount of over dramatization. "Lets go out and kill something... or track something." Shiki struggled to find the words he was looking for and figured his friends would get the rest. He leaned into the bar as he took another sip.

Claire registered the new information with stunned silence. That escalated quickly. And then Shiki complained of boredom. He wanted more bloodshed.


"...Yeah okay that's fair." It was an acceptable answer to both of them at once really. "Since we each represent different Villages, and I have no idea what our political standing is right now, it's probably not ideal to grab a mission through the official channels. But I do know an alternative. There's a B.I.N.G.O. Station in Sound country. We can ask if they have any odd jobs we can do. Preferably of the bloody variety. Not Human blood though. You guys game? Plus I have to head out that way anyway. My old swordsmanship master is out there, and I'd wanted to do some more training later. Can't afford to be getting rusty in this line of work, right?"

Hearing Shiki speak up Axel would glance over at him and now he was drinking... huh... Claire responded in kind talking about heading out and that was what Shiki seemed to want to so Axel would nod and straighten up before heading toward the door. "Well if it's Sound I'll catch ya there"
