Ryu would come to understand that the world was a big place, there was always someone better, stronger, faster, but how would he respond? His surprise would hamper his reaction time, so as he went to sheath his blade it would be a fraction of a second to slow to have any effect on Jessie, as her initial shunshin that caused the sonic boom, and then the Teleporting technique that followed took her some 20 meters away. All that was there for Ryu was a grenade, ready to explode. He blinked 12 meters away from the grenade before the blast happened and as the fiery blast came forth he would tumble 3 meters. This would not be enough to fully escape the blast, it would just barely get him to the edge of the explosion. He would catch the tail in of the blast, getting hit for 1/5 of the force of the attack, taking 16ap of fire damage, and would take an additional 4 ap of burning damage on his following turn.
The Fire explosion also burnt away the flowers that where in the area, leaving none available for Ryu to use. Although that point would be moot as Jessie was no where in sight. As the attempt to interrupt her actions had failed and she was hiding in the shadows as she was previously attempting before. Jessie's Laughter could be heard echoing through the area. Her voice was sinister as she spoke, "Little Boy, who sent you? You know what it doesn't matter. Instead, how would you prefer to die? By the blade? Or by fire?" As she said this a bolt would be fired and would collided into the ground 2ft to Ryu's left. It would explode in in a firey explosion, with the explosion angled directly at Ryu the explosion would do 18ap of fire damage.
It was clear that she was toying with the young ninja now. Even if Ryu was able to spot where the shot had come from Jessie would have already moved. Raiju on the other hand still remained on top of the boulder, some 30m away from all the commotion, staring at the fight with an unamused look on his face. His eyes seemed to dart from Ryu, at and area some 20 meters away from him. He wondered how he would handle this situation. Raiju yawned and lowered his had onto his arms as he continued to watch the fight unfold.
