[training][??/30]
He dashed over to them. "What'd it look like?!"
The left guard stroked his chin thoughtfully. "It was just your legs from the knees down. I think that means you were too tense. It was a good idea trying to distract us with the speech though."
Takeshi blinked. "Huh? Distraction?"
The rightmost guard shook his head. "Nevermind. Just try to relax more. It's less the actual speed of the movement, and more the sudden speed of the transition from 0 to 100."
The Genin nodded rapidly. "Rightrightright. My pops said the same thing. I'll focus a lot more on that, this time."
He took a few steps back, and tried to think back on his experience with the other variations of Shunshin. They had all been conditioning him to burst around in different ways. The first was forward momentum. The second jutsu was backwards momentum. Then, moving in an arc by adjusting your speed mid-path. Then finally, countering another person's Shunshin. The key in all of them was to be relaxed, and make slight displacements. The first one put more focus on his heels, then the balls of his feet. Then tilting the focus to either leg, depending on which direction that you wanted to travel. For the counter, you had to be ready to move in any direction at a moment's notice.
Takeshi relaxed his upper body as much as he could. Took deep breaths, and shut his eyes to focus. He tried to picture the tension leaving his entire body, starting from the toes upwards.
The guards remained quiet, admiring the young boy's focus.
It looked like Takeshi's form suddenly blinked, but to the guards, his image was still standing present in front of them.
Off in the distance, about ten meter's back, was a second Takeshi. He was staring at the first, before he started jumping and shouting."I did it, hahaha! Yes!!"
The image in front of the guards faded, and they looked at each other and shrugged.
