Waru traveled to the lively city of Tanazaku-gai. She found the place quite questionable as most people came for the gambling and the fine women. However, despite some of the negative attractions the city had to offer. It presented a wonderful opportunity to find some work and earn some cash. After wandering around the city for quite some time she came across a help-wanted ad posted on the street corner. It seemed a new establishment had opened up in the area and was need of some help.
Taking a look around for other job opportunities she decided to go with this one find the others a bit more demeaning. Taking the notice she headed for the district the little café was located at. It took her roughly ten minutes on foot to travel to the area and find the little shop. It was located near the shopping district where much traffic flowed through to gain access to. Ideally, it seemed like a good location, but had a lot of rough looking people hanging around the corners.
Waru made her way to the café ignoring the catcalling being thrown her way. She didn’t have time to deal with ignorant men as a certain realization had occurred of the position being filled. Making her way into the café she was greeted by two women wearing maid outfits. Waru paused for a moment glancing at both women realizing this was a maid café, ”Afternoon Miss can we help you to your seat?” Waru quickly shook her head pushing back as the women made an attempt to guide her to a seat. ”No. I’m not a customer! I’ve come here for this.” She frantically cried out presenting the help wanted ad. The one who spoke to the ad and quickly glanced over to the other woman. She instructed her coworker to help her find a seat as she went to find the owner.
Minutes passed by as she waited at the bar for the owner to show up. She looked around the café noticing very little customers were in the establishment. The facility looked quite nice and the girls seemed rather adorable assisting what little customers they had. It was strange to see this place so dead with such nice assets. From what she could tell the food smelt quite good, yet again all food that has been prepared by a professional smelt good. The Maid from earlier appeared behind the bar offering the young woman a glass of orange juice. Waru quickly tried to protest the drink, but the woman was very persistent on offering it. ”I’m sorry for the wait. The owner has been very busy with the opening.” Waru nodded slowly pulling the drink towards her and sipping away at it. ”It’s rather quite empty for an opening week isn’t it?”
The woman let out a hefty sigh as she leaned herself over the bar closer to her. ”With all those lowlifes outside it makes it hard for us to pull in customers. We already had two girls quite the other day when those men cornered them outside. Its been a pretty rough week.” Waru sipped away on her drink listening to the woman’s tale. This would explain their need for a bodyguard. Suddenly a young man came rushing around the corner of the backroom. His hair was a mess and his clothes seemed to be in shambles. It seemed the man was quite busy and had finally blown a fuse as he yelled at the woman over the counter. ”Madison! I’m sorry. I’ve been so caught up in these documents I forgot about the potential employee is she still here?” The woman identified as Madison pointed to Waru as she continued to slowly sipped away on her drink watching to two.
”Great! Nice to meet you, miss. I’m Liam the owner of this café and I believe you are here for the position of maid.” Waru nearly choked on her drink when she corrected the man. ”Bodyguard.” The man adjusted his glasses as he moved closer to Madison side.
”Bodyguard!? I mean no offense but are you sure.” Madison seemed to laugh as she watched Waru’s face grow red and pout. ”I’m not little I’m compact size and yes I’m quite sure I want the position of bodyguard.” The man seemed a bit frazzled as he glanced over to Madison for help. The woman seemed to shrug her shoulder as she glanced over at her. It seemed they were both looking her up and down trying to find any signs of a headband.
As the two continued to examine her fragile body to determine if she was actually a shinobi one of the girls let out a scream. Everyone's attention shot to the corner of the room where a man was trying to lift the young girls skirt up. “Come on just a peek. I won’t tell.”
”Liam.” Madison said a bit afraid as the man began to shake. Waru finished her drink then finally removed Banryu from her back leaning it up against the bar. Leaping from her seat she began to head over towards the man harassing the woman. ”Miss don’t!
”Sir. I’m going to ask you not to touch the girls at this establishment.” Speaking with a calm tone as she approached the man’s table. The man quickly lets go of the woman’s skirt allowing her to escape running past waru and to the backroom. “Oh!? Are you going to do something about it cutie?” The man rose to his feet hovering over her as he appeared quite large.
”Of course I am the bodyguard after all.” She said with a smile just before delivering Tsuyosa Ryuu: Agokatsu (Jaw Smash). The man’s head whipped back from the power of the little girl's fist. The owner and head maid were in shock as the young woman twirled around hoisting the man over her shoulder and tossing him onto his back; Tsuyosa Ryuu: Onikirā (Oni Killer). She followed up with a modified attack stomping her combat boots into his chest instead of her blades. The man groaned in pain as she grabbed the man by the leg and proceeded to drag him out of the establishment.
Tossing him to the curb the man warily stood back on his feet glaring at the woman. “You Bitch! I’ll get you for this.” Waru returned a smile towards the man as she tilted her head to the side ”Your welcome to try. But you might end up dying in the process.” She opened her eyes revealing the red eyes with tomes sparling around the pupil. The man stumbled back as he quickly ran away into the city streets. Waru returned back into the shop where she reclaimed her seat glaring back at the owner and staff member.
”Can I start today?” Madison let out a soft chuckle as Liam Adjusted his glasses. ”Next time shove a sock in my mouth if I ever offend someone like her. With that welcome aboard.”
Liam closed the café shortly after the incident. He took the time to catch Waru up on the situation they found themselves in. It seemed the man had purchased the deed to the building quite cheap without fulling realizing the location of the area. Indeed the place was ideal for a café being so close to the shopping district. However, the area has slowly been overrun by thugs who harass anyone coming into the area. Lately, they have been coming to his café harassing the customers and girls making him lose business. He was hoping to hire a group of men to act as bodyguards in hopes to chase away the group of criminals. However, most people who come in for the job end up getting chased away themselves. He didn’t seem very confident waru would do any better. Madison, on the other hand, believed she was the right person for the job. After explaining the finer details of the situation to her. She ended up walking all the girls out of the district ensuring their safety. It seemed the men didn’t want to get near the young lady who wielded a blade much larger than themselves. Waru managed to find lodging with Madison after discovering her plans to spend the night. Reluctantly she headed home with the woman spending the night on her couch till the next morning.
