Guarding the gate (Mission)

Objective: the objective of this mission is fairly simple, guard the gates.
Description: in order to threaten the village of Sunagakure no Sato, one must first go though the gate. It is the duty of the village's Shinobi to defend the gates with their lives. These ninja must moderate the gates as to who has access and who does not. If they are attacked then it is also their duty to defend the village from attack. This mission is repeatable and can be taken on by one person, or up to a squad of four (one captain). This mission is repeatable, but one must first wait three real life days before they may take this mission again.

Reward: 30,000 Ryo

Guarding the gates was  Galadriel first mission. The mission itself wasnt hard nor was it dangerous, but since it was her very first she felt somewhat intimidated by it, not really scared but she was  a little bit nervous after all she didnt want to mess up , not on her very first assignment. So she got up earlier than usual and headed to the gate two hours earlier than she should've been. The ninjas that were in charge of the previous shift were still there, working and guarding the place.

She began by observing them, she wanted to know how more experienced ninjas were acting and exactly what they were doing when it came to defending the gates. She would notice her position as well as their patrol rounds. She would study them learning  every tiny bit of information that she could. The monites seemed to be passing  so fast for she was so into it. And before she knew it it was her time to take the reins and give the previous guards  a  shift change.

She would nod as she passed by the other guards and they would salute her back - they had been informed that she was going to be taking part in the defense of the walls so they didnt have to inspect her or make sure who she was for they knew of her already. However one of them would hide nearby to make sure that  she did exactly what she n eeded to do. She would begin by placing herself in front of the gate and  start slowly patrolling it left and right checking her surroundings. She was so focused that the four hours that  she needed to cover passed by in mere instants. Her first shift w as over, but  she was planning on doing many more - she needed to improve as well as earn money.

Second day at the job, it was a cold morning even though it was still summer. The cool breeze would make it unable to stay warm  but regardless of that condition - Galadriel was too focused on her duty to feel any of that. She would keep watch from a tower on top of one of the village gates. Thanks to this she was more protected than last time for she was on the ground patrolling the walls.She liked being on the tower, not because she felt more protected.

But because she had a clear view of both the village surroundings and the village itself. The vieew from there, especially as the sun rose up , was quite spectacular. For a brief second it made her forget just how weak she was and how long her road was in order to not feel like that anymore. She would circle the tower a couple of times every 10 minutes, making sure that everything in the  surroundings was peaceful. And just like last time it seemed like another peaceful morning.

Beside the birds chirping away as they hid in the trees, or flew right above the tower - there seemed to be no movements nor strange  sounds coming from outside the vi llage. The village itself was still  asleep and only a couple of people could be seen walking through the streets. She knew most of them for they were the bakers and the early bars opening up for their clientele. As the hours passed and the sun kept rising she could see the city slowly waking up right as her shift ended.

Mission completed.

Another day, another guard duty. She had grown accostumed to the gate duty enviroment. She had made an aquaintance out of everyone working there. Much to her surprise the gate duty was often a ssigned to new recruits so it w as h ard for people to meet others they already  knew. There was only one exception to this. An old man, clearly a war trained one, was always present sitting on the gate tower.

Galadriel had managed to befriend him and he would often tell her stories of the past, a bout his adventures and his victories as well as his defeats. Whenever he spoke Galadriel listened with a face that could only be described as mesmerized. He liked to brag about the many scars on his body, especially visible on his arms. He had  seen his fare share of blood and death but he  still transpired as a happy old man.

He was clearly a skilled shinobi for even in his old age, he exhuded power from his aura, a power that Galadriel could only compare to the twins. With him a t her  side she felt safe while doing her job and that was most likely why he had been assigned permanently to that duty, so that every new recruit coming by would feel his warm embrace and woul be able to perform their duty at the best of their capabilities without fearing for an enemy attack
