"Alfars of opposing descents?" Inoryu wondered, "Did I walk into the residency of a mad scientist? What exactly is he harvesting those flowers for?" He walked along the side of the room to get a closer look at the various specimens displayed in bottles, "I've never seen anything like this." Inoryu gratefully received the plate of food, but he would refrain from eating it until Satu deemed it was safe for consumption. Until Satu determined whether the food was poisoned or not, was relative to whether the alfar before them was being truthful or deceptive.
It was strange to see the alfar transform so frequently, and Inoryu was confused as to which was his true form. If what he was saying was true, and Satu and Inoryu were indeed descendants of the alfar, then perhaps their own constitutions meant that the final form the mysterious alfar took, the one that was about their height with a preternatural skin tone was more accurate. Regardless, the mood felt nonthreatening, and as long as the alfar kept talking, they weren't being attacked outright. "What do you mean split into alfars of light and of dark. You mentioned that Satu and I were of opposing descents."
It wasn't hard to determine whom was of light and dark. It was rather obvious by the way Satu wields light as ninjutsu, and Inoryu's specialty in deception, whom was light and dark. It started to hold some weight for him when he realized this, that perhaps the alfar wasn't trying to deceive them, but was truly being hospitable because he, Satu and Inoryu were of a kind. "My biological mother, was an alfar of darkness?" Suddenly, encouraged by the alfar before him, Inoryu had to know for sure. The quickest answer he would get rested on the small plate of food in his hands. He had no skill for detecting poison, but the desire to know more of his biological mother was overpowering, the mystery consumed him. "If the food isn't poisoned, then there is no deception," he concluded. He took a bite of the cooked bird, chewed, and swallowed. He was determined to learn more about himself.
