The world slowed down again, as the claws made their way in, and she knew she had no time to think, but only time to react. She stabbed the blade down hard, and used the force to push herself out of the grasping range of the claws. One reached for her outstretched leg, but she had not taken her eyes off her enemy even for a moment, and with a deft swing of her stolen sword, she cut the paw clean off the arm of the tiger. It roared in pain, and rolled around, cradling it's wound. Gwyn landed and felt for it, for only a moment. It was on her again in an instant, standing on hind legs and three claws slashing wildly at her.
Gwyn blocked the attacks with frightening ease, however. Each attack came predictably, almost like a child's playground game and batting away the claws was a steady rhythm of clanging steel against hard nails. "So did you teach Ellia to fight?" Gwyn taunted with a laugh, "Or did she teach you!?" Seeing a break in her opponents attack, a miss-balance from the creatures unnatural stance, she dodged instead of blocking and sent it off balance. When it tried to correct itself like she knew it would, she kicked it backwards and sent it sprawling in the dirt.
The tiger flailed wildly in all directions and prevented her from closing in until it was back on it's feet. Gwyn wasn't sure how much emotion animals felt, but she was sure this tiger's pride had been wounded by that little trick; it's eyes were pure rage. Gwyn, on the other hand, was still smiling. "Here Kitty kitty kitty..." The tiger lept at her without warning, without any sort of pretense and would have caught Gwyn entirely by surprise, but somehow she knew it was going to do that. It was like she saw it happen just a step ahead of it happening. Gwyn reacted to the lunge with an upward slash to the creatures face and scarred it across it's two eyes on it's right side and sent it tumbling past her to the base of the tree she had scurried up just a few seconds before.
She could tell she was getting the better of it. It was leaking from three places now, and it's movements were becoming a little more cautious. It circled around to the woman's left, trying to keep distance between itself and her blade. It was smart, Gwyn realized, and her eyes narrowed. When she got out of here she swore to kick the shit out of Ellia for this. Gwyn lowered herself into a Tensora stance and kept the blade very much between her and her enemy, not willing to take any chances with this opponent.
They watched each other, both eyes that could strike fear into the hearts of lesser creatures. Both had eyes of hunters. The tiger rushed at her, running forward on five paws and swept low, aiming to slice open her legs, and Gwyn swung low, aiming to declaw the tiger. But it was learning, and it pulled it's claw back at the last second and switched attack directions. She missed it! Her sword swung harmlessly through the air and even though she pulled her leg back, which saved it paybe from being severed completely, it didn't stop it from taking a raking slash across the bone.
