Angy let out a low giggle seeing the male jump, startled by her explosion. "That was merely a C rank bomb. You should see my C3, it's a real thing of beauty." told the white haired girl. Using her enhanced hearing, she listened to the sounds occurring within a 50 meters radius from her location and only managed to pick up sounds of crawling insects. "Nope, nada. How about you?" replied the kunoichi.

'If I were a bloodsucking bird where would I hide?' pondered the girl as she continued moving forth. "Aha! You wouldn't happen to see any cave nearby would you?" asked Angy. Caves were dark and warm, safe for bloodsuckers like the one they were searching for. If there were any nearby, she was convinced that's where the creature would make its nest.

[Hitora Ryunobu (Uchiha)]

GO TO SLEEP!

Hitora listened as the Hyuuga said that he had spotted their target, it was relatively close only being about fifteen meters from where they were. As he listened to the man’s question he nodded and said “Yes, I have some Genjutsu that can put it into a hypnotic sleep, One of my better ones should be able to reach it.” Hitora then crouched a bit lower, so as to help him avoid the sight of the creature they were hunting. He then focused his chakra into his eyes, as he did his Sharingan spun into view.

The three tomoe’s did not stop spinning as he focused on the creature, his gaze affecting its ability to save itself against any of his impending Genjutsu. Hitora then formed a few handseals and focused his Chakra in a different way. Suddenly the large bird would see hypnotically dancing bright lights no matter where it looked. If the creature failed to see through the Genjutsu it would soon fall into a deep sleep, one where nothing could wake it unless the technique itself were ended. Hitora was not nearly as good with Genjutsu as he was other things, so he was not sure how long he could keep this up.

“I’ve got the creature down for now, lets not dilly dally and end its life, I don’t know how long I can keep this Genjutsu up safely.” Would be the only thing Hitora would say if he managed to put the bird into the illusion induced sleep. With any luck, Minoru would be able to quickly get over to the beast and slay it before the Genjutsu was ended. Luckily the Genjutsu would only end if Hitora himself willed it or if he ran out of the Chakra to keep it going.

Description: A Sharingan based technique. A user can focus their stare on 1 creature within 7 meters + 6 meters per Class Level as a weaving movement. That creature takes a -2 penalty on Will Saves. This penalty changes to -3 at "C" Class. A user can maintain their stare against only 1 opponent at a time; it remains in effect until the user stares at a new target, the opponent dies, the opponent moves farther than the range, or the user falls unconscious or dies. The user can remove the memory of their stare from the target's mind; the creature does not remember that it was affected (nor does it realize that it is currently being affected) unless the user allows it. Kage bunshin 1:

Her comment about the bomb made the male raise his eyebrows. "Nope, nada. How about you? Aha! You wouldn't happen to see any cave nearby would you?" inquired the female. The kage bunshin scanned the area.

His byakugan checked the area around him. All he could see was trees or bushes. "I can't see any caves I'm afraid. There are some hollow trees to your right though. Do you want me to take a closer look?" asked the young man.


Kage bunshin 2:

"Yes, I have some Genjutsu that can put it into a hypnotic sleep. One of my better ones should be able to reach it" informed the guy. "All right. I'll leave it to you then" stated the male. He stepped back as Hitora activated his sharingan.

'This is AMAZING!' thought the kage bunshin as he watched him in action. It did not take long until the genjutsu reached the humming stirge. The young man could tell that the genjutsu did the trick. It fell down to the ground just ten seconds later. This was the signal the Chuunin had waited for.

"I've got the creature down for now. Let's not dilly dally and end its life. I don't know how long I can keep this genjutsu up safely" told the male.
"Got it" replied the young man. He started to mold a good amount of chakra as he approached the sleeping bird.

The clone picked up the bird with his right hand. He held his left hand above its head. It looked as if he was pointing a finger gun at it from above. Next, the male formed a chakra needle between his index and middle finger. 'Here it goes' thought the black-haired guy.

He pushed the chakra needle into the creature's brain. His byakugan kept an eye on its organs. They stopped working ten seconds after the needle had been inserted. "Dead" stated the kage bunshin. His voice was surprisingly neutral.

"I think we cleared the mission. I'll tie up the beak just to be safe. Let's go back to the beach to meet the others" told the young man. He walked back to the beach after he tied the beak together with some grass. Their mission was completed.


Minoru:

'Nope. Not a single bird in sight. I think I'll return to where we started' decided the male. He started to walk back to the resort. Hopefully, the others were more lucky than him.

Minoru smiled as he walked down the beach. 'Oh well. At least I get to spend an evening at the beach. Plus that this mission pays quite well' recalled the young man. The scent of sea water mingled with coconuts tingled his nose.

"Sure." Replied the girl, turning her head to the right to look over at the hollow trees the male mentioned. She couldn't see as well as the Hyuuga but would do her best to look for the bird. She let out a low groan when her ears failed to pick up sounds of flapping wings or any sound associated with flying creatures. They hadn't done much except walk around searching for the humming stirge bird but she was getting kind of tired if not bored. "I'm thinking we should head back if you don't see anything, what do you say?" spoke the girl covering her mouth with the back of her hand as she yawned.

That Was Quick

Hitora nodded to the clone of the group’s leader before he thought for a moment “Should we bring some sort of proof that we killed this thing? After all, anyone could say that they killed it after all.” Hitora then stood up, as he did his Sharingan slowly spun out of view and his eyes returned to their regular black color. Hitora had thankfully expended very little Chakra in doing what his part of the fight amounted to. He was a bit disappointed too that the fight was not more involved, but decided that perhaps in this case that was for the best.

Hitora, if Minoru had said to grab proof, would grab something distinguishable from the bird. Maybe an eye or a feather or something and store it in one of his utility pouches after wrapping it up so blood would not get everywhere. He would then follow the clone, wondering just what they were going to do until the rest of the group arrived back. The Uchiha was wanting to find out if they were going to do more or if the group was already going to be disbanded after such an easy mission. Personally Hitora was hoping to do more.

He wanted a real fight, something to get his blood pumping and moving more. He wanted to get into the thick of things and really show what he could do in a fight. He disliked the Genjutsu part of his Sharingan at times like this, it took all the interest and fun out of the fight and the hunt of the creature. He sighed as he sat down on the beach, waiting for the rest of the group to return to where they had begun this day so far. He wondered if maybe they had gotten stuck into something interesting.

"I'm thinking we should head back if you don't see anything, what do you say?" inquired the female. "I say "I agree" to that" replied the male. There was an amused smile on his face. "After you" told the kage bunshin and stepped aside. He would follow Angela back to the beach.

"Are you a part of a team Angela-san? I would imagine someone as bubbly as you would be good to have on a team. Especially with those artistic creations of yours" told the young man. He kept his voice polite. Upsetting someone who could make clay explosions was a bad idea.


Kage bunshin 2:

"Should we bring some sort of proof that we killed this thing? After all, anyone could say that they killed it after all." informed the guy. "That's a good point. I thought we could show the corpse to the person who ordered this mission. My creator has the details" stated the male.

"After you" told the kage bunshin before stepping aside. He would walk next to Hitora afterwards. 'So...I take it you're going for the next Chuunin exam?" inquired the guy. His pale purple eyes had a curious expression. Going on missions like these would definitely prepare him.


Minoru:

The male was back to where they started. His byakugan picked up two chakra natures from the southern direction. It turned out to be his clone plus the other guy. What the kage bunshin held made Minoru grin. It was a dead bird.

His eyes shifted to the west afterwards. It did not take him long to locate the girl plus his second clone. "Great job everyone! I see you found the bird. Since the resort ordered the mission, I'll say we go there" suggested the young man.

If nobody objected, he would head for the resort with his team behind him. The Chuunin approached the lobby with the mission slip. He walked up to the counter with a polite smile on his face. "Good evening, what can I help you with?" asked the clerk.

"We're here regarding a very dangerous bird. We've - ahem - dealt with it. May we speak with the owner or manager please?" inquired the male. "Certainly" replied the man. The black-haired guy would gesture for the Genins and clones to approach the counter.

Having reached an agreement with her partner, Angy retraced her steps returning to the beach where she had met with the team earlier. She kept a watchful eye on her way back hoping to find the vampire bird.

"No, I'm not part of any team. It's just me, myself and all my masterpieces. People think I'm a weirdo so I pretty much keep to myself" explained the girl proudly, the fact that she had been called weird didn't seem to bother her. "It would be nice to be on a team though" Gazing at the empty sky, Angy pondered on the idea.

It didn't take long before they were back where they started with the rest of the team. "Yeah, good job!" the kunoichi gave the duo that captured the bird a big smile and a thumbs up. The girl hummed a tune as she followed the leader to the resort to claim their reward. After entering the lobby she simply stood back, folder her arms and let the leader handle whatever needed handling.

Hitora made sure to check the pouch that the eye he had plucked out of the creature’s skull had stopped actively bleeding, not opening the makeshift leaf bag he had stuffed it into. Hitora did not wish to have to clean out the pouch as much later after all. He then continued past the clone towards where the group had originally formed. He listened as the clone asked if he had any intentions of joining the next Chuunin Exams, Hitora was able to infer enough from that to figure he was asking if the Uchiha still had an interest in advancing in rank.

“Yes, I likely will go to the next Chuunin Exam if its feasible for me to go to it. Though, just going might be a risk unto myself...” Hitora started on as they walked. He left his statement there, not wanting to go into the details unless directly asked. He knew likely that the Hidden Rain had placed a hefty bounty on his head to bring him back alive or dead. Though that was silly since technically he was originally a Hidden Leaf Shinobi, but the Amekage he had made that original deal with was long since retired.

As the approached the other three, the original Minoru and the girl with her clone of Minoru, Hitora only then realized that the bird was being dragged by the Hyuuga Clone. Letting a sigh out, he realized that the Clone likely grabbed it after Hitora started down the path. He grumbled a bit, something about having to get the stench of dead bird out of his Utility Pouch for no reason now. He knew this was going to be a difficult clean later. He followed the clone and the original man towards the resort desk, wondering just what would come next.

As he approached the counter, the Uchiha decided he would broach that topic when the receptionist went to get someone to verify the kill and divvy out the reward for the mission. “So, what comes next? Is this little...team all through now that we killed one bird? Will there be more missions? I am curious to find out what comes next after all...” Hitora was a bit more blunt than he had been back in the Hidden Rain, mostly due to the sort of life he had lead to this point, why bother being abstract or obtuse when you did not need to after all.

Said kage bunshin sported a small grin. He was clearly up to something. Meanwhile, the manager entered the lobby. It was a middle-aged woman with violet hair tied into a ballerina bun. She wore black slacks plus a dark green shirt.

"This young man claims to have killed that blood-sucking bird" told the man. "May I have a look at it please?" inquired the manager. Minoru gestured for the kage bunshin to open his hand. The guy laid the dead bird on the counter. Both of the staff members inspected it closely.

"It looks dead to me" stated the clerk. "I second that. Thank you so much for killing the bird. I will send a message to your kage" told the woman. She had a grateful smile on her face.

"No problem at all. Do you want us to do the second mission as well?" inquired the male. "That would be brilliant. Especially since you're already here" stated the manager. "Thank you my lady" told the Chuunin.

He turned back to his team. "If the Hokage approves the mission, we will start on another one. I did not tell you since I wanted to see how our team dynamic played out. Since we get along well, I think we can do mission number two" informed the guy. He looked at the Genins with pride.

Angela barely heard what her compatriots and the resort's staff were discussing as she paid them no mind. She only started paying attention when the bird was placed on the counter. When the staff was done inspecting the creature the girl went over to the counter to make her own examination. She carefully inspected the bird from head to talon, and even stretched out its wings to estimate its wingspan. 'Did they kill it by gouging out its eye?' the kunoichi wondered staring at the empty eye socket.

When Angy felt that the image of the bird had been stored inside her memory bank she moved back before consuming 2 slots of clay into her palm mouth. She chewed for a few seconds before evacuating the white substance into her palm, then squeezed it into the shape of the humming stirge. Holding her favourite seal, the creature enlarged to match the same size as that of the dead bird resting on the desk. A smile plastered over her pretty face seeing the perfect creation she had moulded. It looked exactly like the real thing.

The clay humming stirge circled her a couple of times before landing on her shoulder with its pincher-like legs. "Ouch" she made a low mournful sound as her own creation jabbed her neck with its needle-like beak sucking her blood. The experience felt very unpleasant but it had to be done to confirm the creature had no flaws.

Hitora listened as the resort’s manager spoke about the dead bird along with the clerk. Hitora did not really care, the stupid bird was dead after all. He though felt his attention perk when the mention of another mission was made. Hitora inwardly smirked to himself, making sure to show no sign of the excitement on his face or his stance. Maybe this mission would involve a fight that could get him really into the swing of things. Though he did remember seeing the girl they were with really study the dead bird herself as well.

Being a bit curious, the young Uchiha turned his attention to her and looked her over a bit just in time to see her spit a large amount of white, sticky stuff into the palm of her hand. It looked sort of like soft clay, the kind you’d use as a form of putty. He knew at this moment that something was up as she fidgeted with it in her hands. Activating his Sharingan he could see her pumping chakra of some kind into it, though he was unable to discern more than the fact that Chakra was flowing. This could mean only one thing.

It was a secret Ninjutsu. Much like he could not copy the Byakugan or other Uchiha Jutsu, he could not copy this girl’s technique. It was definitely something new to him, though from how she did the hand motions to make the...sculpture, of the bird before bringing it to life, he could tell this was something created and perfected long before her time. He was quite curious about it, but he also knew that the time they would have for such a discussion would likely be too short for a proper chat regarding it.

“I’ve only one question about that bird you just made, can it be useful in combat or is it just something you do because you can?” Hitora made no attempt to hide his curiosity nor did he attempt to hide the subject of his curiosity. He stared straight at her as his Sharingan deactivated. He was wanting to know fully about its combat capabilities, at this moment anything else was secondary as it seemed that they were going on another mission. It was then that he saw the bird land on the girl’s shoulder causing her some pain with its pincer like legs, which told him it mimicked the creature’s anatomy and physiology pretty much perfectly.

"I've only one question about that bird you just made. Can it be useful in combat? Or is it just something you do because you can?" inquired the guy. The clone could not help but to admire how skilled the female was. Her bird looked like an exact copy of the dead humming stirge.

"Ah, yes. Here is the second mission. I have to warn you - I don't like the sound of this" admitted the man. He gave the younger male a mission slip. Pale purple eyes read the mission slip thoroughly.

His face went from cool beige to ashen. 'Crap. It involves a snake. Pretty big one too' realized Minoru. Snakes were one of his least favourite animals in the entire animal kingdom.

A basilisk was even worse given their powers. However, the young man could not afford to back out. His team plus the resort were counting on him. "You look a little pale. Are you sure you're comfortable with the mission?" inquired the manager.

"I'll be fine. I just got a drop in my blood pressure. That's a downside of being my height*. I appreciate your concern though" assured the Chuunin. He gave her a somewhat charming smile.

"Very well then. I am pretty sure this creature was spotted roughly 500 meters north of this resort. I hope the darkness outside won't be an issue" stated the clerk. "I don't think it will. We got equipment and jutsus for that" replied the male.

"I wish you the best of luck. We need to get rid of that creature" told the woman. She gave the shinobis a grateful smile. "We'll do our best my lady" told the black-haired guy. He gave her a bow before he returned to his team.

"We got a serious mission on our hands. We need to hunt down a downright nasty creature. This is something that you've only read about in fairy tales. Or watched in a horror movie" warned the guy. His voice was dead serious.

The young man presented them with the mission slip. "We're going to hunt down a basilisk. This creature can breathe poisonous gas for starters. Furthermore, it has death glare" continued Minoru. Both of his kage bunshins looked very serious.

"The good thing is that its death glare can be used against it. Furthermore, it's a lot slower than the hummingbird. Do you have any questions?" finished the male. His skin tone was back to normal now. Realizing that he wasn't alone made him calm down.

Description: Each of these reptilian monsters can gaze at any creature made of flesh and turn it to stone, no matter what plane the creature is on. This creature's slow metabolic rate limits its movement, even though it has eight legs. A lesser Basilisk usually has dull brown with a pale yellow underbelly and disturbingly pale green eyes. Leathery spines grow from the spinal ridge all the way to the end of the tail. All types of Basilisks have a gaze attack. Basilisks can even see into the Astral and Ethereal Planes. While it has strong, toothy jaws, the Basilisk's major weapon is its gaze. However, if its gaze is reflected so that the Basilisk sees its own eyes, it will itself be petrified into a statue. Having noticed the Uchiha observe her for a while, the clay artisan gazed at him wondering what he could be trying to see with those crimson eyes of his. "Well, if you must know this right here is a weapon of mass destruction" she replied proudly, gently stroking the white bird rested upon her shoulder. She hoped her answer was enough to satisfy his curiosity, if not he would just have to wait to see her in action.

The girl listened and watched on as Minoru was handed a piece of paper with information regarding their second mission. The first mission had been all walk and no action, she hoped the one they were about to undertake yielded different results. She tilted her head to the side curiously, making a thorough observation check on the purple eyed male when the woman mentioned something about him looking pale. For some reason she did not believe the reply he gave about his blood pressure dropping.

Letting out a yawn, Angy covered her mouth and shut her eyes for a brief moment wishing she was home so she could rest. She hadn't done any heavy work but was feeling a bit tired. Minoru explained their next mission to them, Angy knew it would be more difficult than the previous judging by the tone the male had used. This excited her as it would provide the opportunity to show off her skills. She simply shook her head when asked if they had questions.

Hitora watched as the mission slip was brought back and watched as Minoru’s face almost immediately blanched. Hitora wondered what could be so bad that put a fear in the leader of this ramshackle team. He had heard what the girl said about her new bird, but was more focused on the fact that the leader of this team was worried about something. Hitora was about to ask what possibly could be so terrifying to the Hyuuga when the man handed him the mission slip and he read the mission they were given. The Uchiha quickly skimmed the text therein.

It was not long before his eyes went a bit wide and he re-read the entire slip. No, his eyes were not wrong, they were to hunt down and kill a Basilisk next. He had not heard much of these fantastical creatures beyond myth and legends, stories and the fables that came with them. Hitora was not overly concerned with the Death Glare, if anything that would aid the young Shinobi in killing it with his own ability to reflect Genjutsu, it was the poison breath attack the snake was reported to have that worried the Uchiha at this juncture.

His mind was going through the mental gymnastics needed to work out the various ways to stop the breath attack of the snake. He had the obvious fire style at his disposal, he could redirect it with water or earth styles...But those options might not be viable at all times during the fight depending on a variety of situations. He sighed outwardly, wondering just how this fight would go at this rate. “Do we have any definite defenses against the poison breath attack this snake has? That is my most pressing concern at this moment.” Uttered the Uchiha after a time.

"Do we have any definite defenses against the poison breath attack this snake has? That is my most pressing concern at this moment" stated Hitora. "I know a number of defensive suiton jutsus. Furthermore, I know a couple of chakra barrier jutsus" informed Minoru.

He started to walk out of the lobby. The guy did not wanted the guests to hear about a giant venomous snake moving around. "I think our best strategy is long-range jutsus. Genjutsus are a good option as well. What kind of ninjutsus do you know by the way" inquired the Chuunin.

Forests were the ultimate playground for doton or mokuton jutsus. Katon, raiton and futon could cause some nasty damage as well. Genjutsus or camouflage jutsus could give them the upper hand too. Trouble was that the basilisk could hide easily. 'Thank Kami I got my byakugan!' thought the male.

Angy held out her hand, gesturing for Hitora to pass over the mission paper after he had finished reading it. Given the slip, she'd silently read it over while at the same time listening to her comrades discuss strategies. She wasn't familiar with this Basilisk creature they were about to hunt, but judging by the males' reaction towards the mission she knew it wouldn't be a good idea to take the reptile lightly. It possessed two special abilities which made it too formidable for a wild creature, they'd need to work smart to take it down. The girl was silent for a while thinking of the smartest way to go about this mission.

The best way to avoid the creature's poisonous gas and deadly gaze was to approach it stealthily, then take it out without giving it a chance to use its abilities. She was pretty skilled at moving unnoticed and possessed a bard ability which allowed her to mute any sound she made. Quietly, she followed the Hyuuga out of the lobby. The kunoichi agreed with the male's suggestion to use long-ranged attacks as that had been her plan all along. "My fighting style pretty much revolves around my clay creations. Since they aren't made of flesh and don't breath I doubt the basilisk's poison and death glare will have an effect on them. I can send them to blind and detain the reptile." told the girl.

Hitora followed Minoru as he left the resort, staying quiet as he contemplated more things. When the Hyuuga mentioned that he had a few Water Style Jutsu as well as Barrier Jutsu, Hitora nodded a bit. He took that in mind and put his hands in his pockets, his mind still going through the possibilities, he listened as the girl that was with them explained that her fighting style was best suited for distance based fighting. Looking her over, he saw no real distance based weapons on her as far as he could see.

Hitora then remembered that she could make those clay bird things, and figured that it must have had something to do with that. Which she shortly confirmed thereafter as she spoke more. Hitora wondered just what those clay birds could do in a battle, it was a curious thing. Hitora made sure to continue following the Hyuuga, it was not too difficult to do considering his height compared to the average person in the village. Hitora thought a bit more about what he should say in response to his question about the sorts of Jutsu he had access to. Deciding it was better to be honest, the Uchiha began to speak.

“I am able to use a variety of Fire Style, Lightning Style, Wood Style, Earth Style and Water Style Ninjutsu. I’m trained in Boxing to a very high extent and I know a few Genjutsu...oh and as you saw, my Sharingan can be useful.” Stated the Uchiha calmly as he wondered what the male and female would say about the variety of his skills, though he still had plans to get even more Jutsu learned eventually. Hitora simply felt that for where he was at this stage in his life he was comfortable with his strength.

Minoru tried to formulate some possible plans in his head. The sharingan and byakugan would make it easier to dodge incoming attacks. Mokuton or doton would be excellent for a forest environment. The young man remembered how realistic the humming stirge creation was. He turned towards the duo with a smile at his face.

"I think I have an idea. Angela-san, are you able to make small rodents out of that clay? Basilisks probably eat lots of those. We can use our doujutsus to look for the basilisk. I think we'll split up in three like we did earlier" started the Chuunin.

"My suggestion is to form a fan formation. This means one team goes east, second goes north while number three goes west for instance. That will make it harder for the basilisk to ambush us. The distance between us must be less than 100 meters" continued the young man. His clones kept quiet.

"Scan the forest please" told the black-haired guy. His clones nodded before they walked towards the forest edge. Their byakugan scanned the north-east and north-west area. They did the northern area together. Both of them turned towards the group a moment later.

"Nothing" told the kage bunshin on the left. "I did not see the basilisk either. It's dull brown with a pale yellow underbelly. A lesser basilisk has eerie light green eyes" informed the second clone. He was looking at the two Genins as he talked.

Angy nodded as she listened to Hitora share with the group his abilities, and was quite impressed with what she heard. Counting the number of releases the male possessed in her head, the girl concluded that the Uchiha was either a ninjutsu specialist or a master. Her clay creations were earth based, but she herself could not perform earth techniques nor any other releases. Right there on the spot she set a new goal for herself to learn some ninjutsu. Since the Uchiha claimed to know a variety of styles, Angy considered asking him to teach her a few.

The girl had lost herself in her own thoughts that she'd forgotten about the her humming stirge. She only recalled when she turned her head to find that it had reverted to shapeless clay. She simply removed it from her shoulder and tossed it behind her.

Angy gave Minoru her full attention as he shared his idea. "That's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that? Sure, I can make a couple of rodents, it's no biggie." spoke the girl. She watched the purple eyed male and nodded her head in agreement listening to him explain the plan further. Without any objection, the girl merely kept quiet with a warm smile plastered over her face. She stored in her memory bank the description of the basiliks given by the clone.
