How had she ended up here and what was her objective? Trudging through the snow at a moderately quick pace, the young woman pursed her rosy lips together as yet another warm burst of air escaped into the cold atmosphere. The snow she was walking through stung at her soles, soaking her slippers without remorse. Her mind began to grow restless at the lack of things to observe, she wasn’t usually analytical but something anything was needed to stave her mind off of winter’s cruel folly. Moisturizing her chapped lips with her tounge, Dorei began to make observations about her environment to hopefully…pass the time.
Cold, frozen, and windy. In those three words Dorei could have easily summarized her entire surroundings but she needed something to do, so she began to dissect those words into something of more complexity. What would a scholar of nature classify this area as; a tundra? No…there were remains of evergreen trees, leafless survivors of winter’s decadent and everlasting reign over this land. Perhaps as a frozen grassland…however, Dorei failed to see any such vegetation. Desperate to keep going, Dorei’s mind began alluding to more…inventive conclusions.
"Yukisabaku…the Snowy Desert." Dorei immediately scowled at her childish antics.
While it was true that as far as the eye could see, there was nothing but snow and the occasional evergreen…it could hardly be called a ‘Snowy Desert’. Trying to come up with a better answer, Dorei’s eyes began to hurt and her head started to throb. Letting out a guttural groan, she snapped her eyes shut and stood still; she was beginning to fall victim to snow blindness. This new found weakness made Dorei want to gouge her own eyes out. No one in her clan would ever succumb to such an insignificant obstacle. Dorei would probably be ridiculed for such weakness if any of her clansmen were around. But no…she was alone and with justified reasoning for doing so.
Suddenly Dorei was brought out of her reverie; remembering where she was going and what her objective was. Heading for the Snow Capital City, Dorei was to seek out a Dojo and teacher of Krav Maga. All for the sake of improving her combat skills, in spite of her handicap. Opening her eyes and immediately seeking out any discoloration in the snow to help her get over the snow blindness, Dorei walked with a new sense of determination. Within another ten minutes of moderate-paced walking, the outer city walls of the Capital came into view. Grinning smugly Dorei passed through the open gate of the Capital and began looking for a dojo.
