Test 3 – Preliminary Matches
The 20 remaining contestants would be led to what looked like a basic, square building. It was large, going up about 2 stories, and was 110 meters in length and width. They were arranged in the pairs that they were in during the tower, with the exception of one whose single partner was disqualified. An examiner would step forward and speak to the group.
’Congratulations on succeeding in passing the second round of the exams. Apologies that none of you could complete the tasks, but you have all moved on. Unfortunately… There are too many of you to continue to the 3rd Round finals… As such, we are holding a preliminary round first. The 20 remaining contestants will face off in one match. In the event of a draw, both members will be disqualified. Failing here prevents you from receiving the status of Chuunin, however, so keep that in mind and go for it all. During a match, you will all be on the outer edge of the arena.’
With that said, they were all led to the outer edge of the arena. More of the examiners stood around the ring. Half of them performed one set of handseals, while the other half performed a different set of handseals, in an alternating fashion. The second half finished first as a large barrier was set 10 meters away from the edge. The second half then finished their handseals and what used to be all cement floor changed drastically, with the exception of one meter of cement in between the barrier and the change. Television sets had been placed around on the outer walls which then turned on and showed the contestants what was going on. An overview of the place showed the following (Without the dots and the legend)
The examiner, from a higher ledge, yet on the same side they were being talked to before spoke once more.
’As you can see, There are 9 different sections of the arena. A windy section, with turbines kicking up the wind. An ice section, filled with snow and ice. A water section, that is completely covered in water with generated waves. A wooden section, filled with trees, leaves, and grass. A lightning section, filled with lightning rods, clouds, and lightning strikes. A fire section, filled with lava, fissures, and fires. A sound section, with deafening sound waves blowing around. A sandy section, filled with sand, sand, and more sand. And finally, in the middle… The earth section, filled with cracks, dirt, and stone. The middle section is where you will begin. Person 1 will start on the edge of the earth section near the ice section and person 2 will start on the opposite edge, near the fire section. The match-ups will be chosen at random.’
With those words said, the Televisions would switch to a name randomizer as the names would start to be chosen. The time to start this round would soon occur as the examiner said a few more words.
’Good luck and fight hard. If you cannot continue and wish to give up, say so and an examiner will stop the fight. Now then… Let the 3rd round preliminaries commence!’
With those words said, the name randomizer stopped on 2 names, examiners would usher those two through the barrier and to their location… The 3rd round preliminaries were now underway.
Now for the OOC stuff. The arena is 99 by 99 meters, a meter of cement (enough for like… your foot), and 10 meters behind a barrier that prevents attacks from reaching that area. Each individual section is 33 by 33 meters. The descriptions for the sections are above in the examiners words. Please be sure to follow them. You can go to any section you like, we just ask that you state which one you are in at the top of your posts like this [Earth Section] If you change sections during your post, please put the section you moved to like this [Fire Section].
As with the last round, there is a 2 day IIC for the participants. Examiners will post sporadically to change the field around and do not have a specific spot to post. If you have a problem with your opponent’s post, Please PM an examiner AND STATE IT IN YOUR THREAD. If you do not state it in your thread, the other person will not know you had a problem and after 2 days, will skip you. So state in your thread when you sent a PM to someone, and if you sent it to one examiner, then state which one. Each thread will have one examiner to look at it, but any can be PMed for assistance. The following is the people in this particular thread.
Tyro Toruya
VS
Bachiatari Ningen
These will be the examiners that will state random changes to the battle field (IE: Random wave in the water area, flare up in the fire area) Changes will only be stated for the sections you are in. If someone misses the IIC, then any attacks launched on them will be considered an Auto-hit. If it was a killing blow, then they are dead. If not, then they are just hit with the attack. Please wait for an examiner to explain the damage to them before posting again to say that they are skipped. Any examiner can make a call on the fight. The only reason there are examiners to watch over the threads is so they can make changes to the battlefield.
