Even Stance
Rank: "E"
Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary
Effect: Natural Position, easy to reproduce.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: One of the four stances a user may learn as they are able to learn just one if they wish. Small base of support in the front-back plane. Body isn't sturdy, so it can move if in high winds. Lowers area for string clearance, especially for large chested shooters. Many Marksman prefer the even stance. In this stance, the Marksman’s body weight is evenly distributed among both feet, and the heels and toes are aligned. The middle of the instep of the foot is aligned with the center of the target.
Limit: Must be a Marksman.

He had a bow, now he needed to learn how to shoot it. Unfortunately he couldn’t just start out by shooting, first he had to learn how to stand properly. He went to the little back yard area of his apartment building and began practicing how to stand with his bow. According to the book he had to stand with his feet about shoulder width apart. Okay that seemed easy enough. He drew the bow up in his arms and held it, feeling a bit silly as he checked back with what the book said he should be doing. There were still some adjustments to make it seemed.
His weight needed to be distributed evenly between his feet. Carefully he shifted his weight from side to side until he found some sort of balance in the middle. His heels and toes were supposed to be aligned too. He glanced down and realized he was sliding his front foot forwards out of force of habit. It felt more balanced to him that way but he had to go with what the technique said. He shifted the foot back until the heels and toes were perfectly aligned with each other, feeling more awkward than ever. He knew there were other stances he could learn but he couldn’t very well find out which one he liked best without trying.
The middle of his instep was supposed to be aligned with the target. He adjusted himself so he was facing the tree he had been practicing destroying. He made sure the tree trunk was aligned with the middle of his instep before drawing the bowstring back and practicing sighting. His fingers slipped and the string snapped, striking against his arm on the way down. “Shit!” He exclaimed as he dropped the bow and pulled back his sleeve, a large welt rising on the skin. It looked like he wasn’t done with training just yet.
