A meeting of Fate [Bae/Sairo]

[Sairo Zassou]

I left the village with the kitten in hand and made my way back to the now empty Plateau. All that was left were two piles of items. One was mine, the other was Bae's. She hadn't yet been back to take care of them. There was also a Gorrizle that I had taken down earlier, still unconscious from my attack. I set the Kitten down as I looked at the items I had received, but more importantly, I was wondering if Bae would show up. I knew that she had reacted toward finding out I was the Kage rather unpleasantly. I just hoped she would be different now.

My large black cloak flowed from my body, the hood covering my face as usual. I brought no additional weapons with me, figuring this to be more than enough. I started sifting through my pile and finding out exactly what it was that I had with me to use. Some would be for the village, some for myself, and some to sell as it had no use. A large pile to be sure, but I would see just what was here.

She stumbled across the Kage once more. The stuff she was trying to move was halting her terribly. Every few steps something would drop and then she would have to stop to set everything down to try and pick it up. The cart she had was far too heavy and far too unruly for the small girl. As her swords clattered to the ground once more she frowned. "Ohh come on." She muttered darkly as she set the cart down and stepped out from behind it. She bent down to fetch the blades and as she straightened she saw him. Her eyes spun to the ground and her foot scuffed the ground nervously. "Oh... uhm... hi there." She murmured.[/color][/size]

I saw Bae moving her items with a cart, but having not noticed me. Suddenly, a pair of swords fell from the cart and she reached down to grab them. Upon standing up straight, she noticed me and looked back to the ground, her foot running along the floor in nervousness. I looked down as I saw this, wondering if she was mad that she knew I was the Kage. "H-Hello."[/color] I said with a light stuttering, my own foot moving against the ground a bit in the process. My face was red with blush, but I was scared she hated me. I wasn't sure what was going on through her head and hoped that things wouldn't change. I really did like her after all.

I heard her words to me and felt horrible. Even more so than before. "Please... call me Sairo. And... I kind of left my items up here just as you had. But... We had talked about coming back here when the items stopped appearing to maybe look over the items together. Maybe see if I had something you wanted."[/color] I said with a soft sigh. "But... I'll understand if you don't. Clearly something had happened in the past to make you not like the Tsuchikage. I just hope... That maybe I'll be able to change that mindset in a good way."[/color] I said as I turned back to my pile and started looking through everything.

She nodded while he spoke. What he said was true, but then why did it make her feel horrible about herself? Her foot scuffed the ground as she searched for words to say. She could explain to him about why she hated the figurehead that was a Kage, but would it really help? "You know... I never wanted to be a ninja." She muttered as she looked over at her items, not quite meeting his eyes. She let out a sigh and shook her head. "Sorry, never mind. It's a long story." She said. Boring him with the details wouldn't help anything.[/color][/size]

I looked down to the kitten in my arms as Bae spoke. The cat jumped from my arms and walked over to her, purring as it moved between her legs. I smiled as I looked over to her. "I was told it's name was Luna, and it was dropped off at the tower by Draven just for you."[/color] I said before walking over to her slightly. "And please... do explain what you meant... Why didn't you want to become a Ninja?"[/color] I asked curiously. I hadn't heard much about Bae, other then that she had taken up several missions for the village in regards to reading the animalism books.

Either he had never seen the full paperwork on her becoming a ninja, that or he was just pretending not to. "My dad and I were refugees from a country in the South East. We traveled for quite a time after we escaped but working in the mines his whole life left him really sick." She bent down and scooped up the kitten, petting her gently as she spoke. It must have been another one that was rescued from the wasp. "I wasn't a medic back then, I didn't know how to do anything. The Tsuchikage agreed to take care of my fathers medical expenses... if I swore myself to the village. I went through the academy, I became a medic. Ten years ago my father died. He's gone but I'm still here. I can't be my own person again, I'm not a person anymore, just a thing, a tool... all because of the Kages. Every Kage has made it clear that I am theirs, to be used, because I swore my life to the village in exchange for five years of medical care for my father." She said bitterly.[/color][/size]

I listened carefully as Bae spoke. I thought of the Kages who had been here at the times that she had spoken of. I then remembered having seen her age when briefly looking through the files. She was a year younger than me. I started thinking of the times she stated and adding things up. I dawned on me why I didn't know what she was talking about as I had arrived in the village shortly after she had. "I am not sure what deals the other Kages had, but I have seen many pass. And after my own realization, I arrived in this village shortly after you had."[/color] I said. I felt safer here, now having heard her story as I removed my hood. My green hair spilled out and my purple eyes looked over at her.

"But I am not like them. When I was chosen at Tsuchikage, I decided to make a change for the village. And for you... I offer you what you wish. If you want to renounce yourself as a Shinobi of Stone, that is fine. And if you wish to stay, you will not be regarded as a tool to be used and tossed aside when no longer useful. The life of a shinobi is difficult and one I regard highly. You aren't a tool. You aren't owned by the leader of the village. You are your own person, and I hope in time, you'll come to see that. At least... That's how you are in my eyes. And I'm the current Tsuchikage. What the others said about you... It holds no bearing anymore."[/color]

Everything he had said, the words he had worked so hard to choose, all of them were lost as he pushed back his hood. The kitten mewed and jumped from her arms as her eyes flashed crimson. She cocked her head and stepped forwards slightly. Her hand rose up to drift gently across the green locks of his hair. Her bright eyes quickly took in the color of his eyes, the holes on his head. "You have something strange..." She mused quietly. "It's not quite your blood but its so very close..." She murmured as she continued to look him over. "It's right there, part of your body, but not a birth right. I've never seen anything like his before."[/color][/size]

I blinked as I watched Bae start touching my hair. I shivered slightly, never having been in close proximity to another. And no one had ever touched my hair before. She mentioned what was inside of me and I held up my hand to show her the holes on my hand. Suddenly, a vine slowly snaked its way out of my index finger, showing her what was inside of me. "I was born to the Zassou Clan. Its a predominately Female clan that controls vines from seeds deep within their body."[/color] I said as I looked up. A vine poked out of the hole in my head before slipping back inside. "Every one of these carefully placed holes houses a vine that I can control as I please."[/color] I said as I stepped away from her. The vines from my hand snaked out and landed on the ground before pushing myself into the air and I started walking around using my vines to hold me up in the air.

[Yun Bae]

"This is possibly the strangest thing I've ever seen..." She murmured as she let her fingers move down to touch the vine. He stepped away and she watched as the vines lifted upwards and carried him rather like the Irken pack she found earlier was said to. "That looks like it should be more awkward." She told him. "I just have this." She told him as she touched a finger to the corner of her eyes and let them flash in crimson glory once more. "The only clan I know much of is the Ikebana." She explained. She took a seed and set it on the ground and knelt besides it. Her eyes closed and her head bowed and suddenly a weeping willow exploded forth from the earth. It reached six feet high before the long boughs unfurled and fell around her. She stood and dusted off her hands before picking up the kitten once more. "So I guess we both have an affinity for Mokuton in a sense." She said with a small smile.[/color][/size]

I smiled back as I retracted my vines and watched the tree appear in front of me. "Indeed, it seems we do. And you should see my home if that is the case. A plant haven of sorts. All plants that I have created and summoned to form a home in which I live. I'd love to show you some time."[/color] I said with a smile as my face blushed once more. I had never openly invited someone to come to my home. I told some where to find me if they needed me, but never said that I wanted to show someone it. But to see her affinity toward the earth, I was truly pleased. I just hoped that she would view me differently than the past Kages. An even so, view me as more than just the Kage.

A grin split across her face as she nodded. "I'll do that!" She said cheerfully. "I know much more about animals than I do plants, but I'm going to start learning plants soon I think, especially with all these books I found!" She said with a smile. She looked back at the kitten once more and found a little red collar on her neck bearing the name 'Luna'. "Hi there Luna." She said as she stroked her gently. "I think my apartment looks more like a library than anything." She admitted. "It's not very large but the entire front room is covered in books... I just can't stop collecting them." She said with a helpless shrug.[/color][/size]

I nodded at Bae's words. "I hope to learn more about animals and start gathering them for the village. To be truthfully honest, the first basement floor of the tower will be solely devoted to Animals and housing them. There are ways to extract what we need from them without killing them, and thats what that room will be for."[/color] I admitted. Aside from those working on finishing it up, Bae was the first I told about the room, as she was the first to show a true love of animals.

"I also wouldn't mind seeing your 'library'. I do like reading, even if I don't very often."[/color] I said before coughing a little bit. It was then that I realized just how much I had been talking, and how much I still wasn't used to it. I was getting there, little by little, but it still hurt to talk a lot.

She listened to his plans for the tower and nodded. "Oh!" She exclaimed. "Here!" She cradled Luna in one arm as she dove into the pile of items she was carting around before producing a book titled "Animal Knowledge Book; Grasslands". "I don't think you had this at the tower, you can have it." She said as she held the book out to him. "I found three of them if you can believe it!" She exclaimed with a small giggle. "As much as I loved books I really don't think I need three of the same one so you can either keep it or take it for the tower." She offered.[/color][/size]

I took the book in my hand and chuckled before adding it to my pile of items. "No, this is not one we have for the village, so I'll be sure to add it to the others. I'll also mark that you donated this as it counts as a D ranked Mission Credit for you."[/color] I said with a smile before blushing. "Y-You know... All those um... Anonymous letters you received... They were from me... But in my haste to send them, I forgot to sign my name."[/color] I said with a nervous chuckle as I put my hoof behind my head.

"Oh, wow, uhm, thanks!" She exclaimed in surprise as he told her of the mission credit. What came next made her blush so deeply she instantly felt her eyes draw towards the ground. Her cheeks were bright red as she stumbled for words. Her hand absently touched where the letters were held in her cloak. "Uhm... uh... that is... what?!" She exclaimed, stunned beyond belief. Words were completely lost as she tried to wrap her head around those possibilities.

My own cheeks were bright red as I nodded. "Y-Yeah... I had wanted to talk to you in person about it but you kept running out of the tower so fast that I couldn't. So I asked for a message to be sent. I didn't realize how much my messengers failed at their job that they delivered it with me right there next to you."[/color] I said, shuffling my feet on the ground as I twiddled my hooves fingers a little, not sure of what she was going to say.

Her cheeks were even redder than before, in fact she was quite growing in resemblance to a tomato. She buried her face in Luna's fur as she desperately wished for the blush on her cheeks to go away. The kitten squirmed and jumped away, not happy with the idea of being used as a mask. "Uhm, but... Why?" She murmured quietly. "I mean we hadn't even really met and stuff... and I'm... not good with people or anything..." She was rambling, she knew she was rambling but she was doing it anyways. It just didn't make sense to her. It was odd, awkward, and unbelievable. Bae was not the sort of person people liked. Not that she didn't like Sairo, but still it was inconceivable that he would like her back.
