Demon Days [DE]
[/center]Rank: A
Plot:
Peace is a fleeting moment in time. Where happiness and fond memories are born, forever stored in the annals of history books, but more importantly in the hearts of men; peace is the dream which is both a desirable and tempting mistress. We dream of it in times of strife, in instances of suffering. We pray for it when the hour is blackest and our hearts are filled with despair. More often we meet face-to-face with peace’s envious cousin: War. Unpredictable and fueled by the ambitions of men, war is ironically the precedent that gives rise to peace and subsequently the heroes of peace. Heroes, however, are not the only legends that are born during battle. The days of demons are most common when the bloodshed of men reaches its zenith…
Following the escape of Raiel Kaguya, the Kikkawa family leaders realized the position they were finally faced with. The Godaime Kusakage of the village whom they had kidnapped knew details about them and their forces—details that would make them exposed to the village that they had been locked in a mortal struggle for power in quiet for years now. Amongst themselves they argued, some in favor of retreating underground until Kusagakure grew weak enough for them to supplant those who claimed what wasn’t theirs while other in more boisterous voices called for more immediate action. Being forced to leave the ninja village hadn’t been an abrupt affair. It was a slow process following the loss of control after the late Lady Hotaru’s death—the next to ascend had not been so easy to manipulate and eventually the connection between many of the illicit acts of brutality and lawlessness was tied to the Kikkawa.
Having no political standing as the hostility towards them grew, they fled, carrying with them the few ninja they could. Years passed as they watched from afar. Some remained close to their home, hiding away like animals in the Crimson Forest while others expanded their horizons by moving to other parts of the world, but they were all bound by the encompassing hatred for the inhabitants of the Kusagakure. Unknowingly they began devising individual schemes to overtake the ninja village isolated within the jungles of Kusa no Kuni. Soon whispers became secretive talks and eventually these became war conferences as coffers were raised to support the growing force of the Kikkawa. Soon fortune saw Kizaki Gensai, the man claiming to be the strongest swordsman in the world, into their hands. Many saw this as the final piece that heralded their rise against the treacherous village which should have belonged to them. It was what had moved them to kidnap Raiel Kaguya, it was what had prompted them to begin reaching out to other ninja villages to seek favor. Maneuvers that otherwise would have been too bold for the family in the past became frantic and rushed as the collective emotions of the clan began to clamor for the blood of those they despised.
Now all had come to a crossroads. Managing to mount a force of 500 excommunicated ronin, along with a few ninja of great talent, the Kikkawa forces march to the grasslands, with Gensai serving as their reluctant general. The decision to attack Kusagakure was not a unanimous one, but the blood thirst of those who demanded justice overwhelmed those who would preserve the pure blood of the Kikkawa.
Crossing as far as the Crimson Forest, the clan has come further than they’ve ever dreamed. The feudal lords have turned a blind eye to the small army advancing upon the ninja village for reasons unknown and now it seemed that Kusagakure’s fate had been sealed. Even this new kage Ichinose, Baek would not make a difference as the measly lot of ninja faced numbers far greater than their own—not to mention the addition of the strongest swordsman in the world. It seemed that history was about to pay witness to one of the bloodiest battles to take place since the Great Ninja Wars.
The question was who would stand victorious? Who would stand beside who when the smell of blood and smoke was thick in the air? Who would hold claim to the jungle that surrounded the village on all sides as well as the village itself? Who indeed…

Composed for stealth rather than assault this unit has 75 swordsmen to its name. The objective of this thread is to prevent this force cutting across through the Crimson Forests to flank the village on both sides. There is a 5% (5 or below die roll) chance on each post that one of the disgraced ninja clans whose home is within the Crimson Forest may attack. During times of war there are those that lose faith in what they once believed in. They straddle the line of morality with uncertainty and given proper promises they turn their back on what they once believed in. Such a thing is common not only in battle, but in ninja villages as well. A traitor within the village has been raising an army within Kusagakure as well as corresponding with the enemy. Impossibly they’ve housed 25 Cavalrymen, 25 Archers, and 75 swordsmen within the village. The objective is ensure that all villagers are guided to safey, find the traitor (30% chance; Die roll of 30 or less), and eradicate all enemy forces within the village. The enemy has also managed to harbor an unknown number of PC ninja or warriors who are working with the Kikkawa clan.
