Nero's sound manipulation would come in handy quite quickly with what he had in mind. A way to communicate between people that didn't rely on any gadget and thus couldn't be destroyed or intercepted. Very good in combat, even better in war and overall very useful to anyone going out in teams. Like with the last seal he learned, Nero was with his nose deep in books, reading passages from one book and linking them to another book.
A whole pile of books behind him were discarded, either because they were useless or because the information in them was outdated or plain wrong. "So... A seal that moves sound waves between seals... Five at a time. Says here... Works similar to a comm device." Nero's left hand flashed over the scroll as he added notes to the already extensive list of notes and thoughts.
After finishing up his initial research into the seal, Nero moved to the first part. Understanding how it worked. What he needed to learn was exactly how sound moved through objects. He knew sound transported itself as a wave with a frequency but how could the wave move through a solid object? Standing up from the desk and books, Nero strolled into one of the many isles of the library, searching for the right book. So far, he had always found what he was looking for in a book.
"Sound...Sound...Sound. No not the sound country... No...no no no no... Ah! Maybe this one?" Nero plucked the book out of the long line of books and rested it on his arm as his search continued. By the time he returned to the desk, he had five different book son his arm, all about sound, music and concerts. If there was one place where they kept sound from dying out it was at concerts. At the same time they also made sound stop through isolation. Perhaps he would find something there.
According to the first book, sound moves by vibrating things, like the air or a wire or a table. Well, the first book alone had already given him the answer. Sound moved through solid objects because it hits the object on one side, vibrates it, which allows the sound to travel further along, and then turns back into the wave on the other end of the vibrating solid object.
Ever so slightly disappointed by the easy result of his research, Nero put down the book. OF course, having found the answer was always nice but it had been too easy for Nero, who had been researching hours and hours for everything else he had learned so far. Sound waves vibrated objects to pass through them. So they didn't really pass through them, they just used a solid object to pass on the sound wave.
Nero leaned back on his chair, putting the pen down after having written it down in big capital letters on his scroll. A simple statement that was so very important to what he was trying to learn. With his non ink stained right hand, Nero pinched the bridge of his nose before stretching out on the library chair. On to the next part.
