Deeper Down the Rabbit Hole
Personality:
Menacing. That is what people think of when they hear the name Hayato. And while they definitely take their opinion of him to the extreme, they aren't exactly wrong in that view of him. Simply put, Hayato is an individualist. What happens to other people is of very little concern to him, and this has aided in the majority's view of him. Hayato loves the ideal of freedom and will go to any length to ensure that it lives on.
While Hayato does not actively try to endanger other people for his own sake, it does happen occasionally. He prefers to avoid this situation at all times, for he would feel as if he were in the debt of those who were harmed, physical or not. He feels that his freedom is not only worth striving for. The freedom of everyone is also worth striving for, although it is down the list of importance of his own freedom. Even with these views, Hayato has no problems in stripping his enemies of every freedom they were born with.
Although it has yet to happen, Hayato would be genuinely kind for somebody who he felt deserved to be called his friend. He sees that kindness as a form of repayment for their friendship and everything that accompanies that friendship. On the other hand, he is also willing to forsake that friendship if he were betrayed.
Honesty and loyalty are the most important things in a friendship to Hayato. When concerning others, these qualities mean nothing to him. Lying is not too far below Hayato to prevent him from doing it to advance himself within the likes of those he does not call friend. Everyone who isn't helping him is simply an obstacle. Even if he does not call someone friend, if their relationship is beneficial to Hayato he wouldn't throw away that relationship as long as it proved useful.
Death and sacrifice are not unknown to Hayato. He has become accustomed to losing things or people that are close to him. Although this hasn't stopped him from wanting to create these kind of bonds with people, he has learned how to part with things dear to him.
Aside from his obvious greed and selfishness, Hayato does have his good points. Hayato has a soft spot for helping out the helpless, which usually consists of children and the elderly. Hayato does not discriminate those he considers helpless by gender and believes that men and women can be equal in their uselessness. Power is a means to freeing oneself, and he would not see this power abused by antagonizing those without it.
Narcoleptic
Hayato has a neurological disorder called narcolepsy. His sleep pattern is extremely disturbed, being that he can't sleep regularly at night and in the daytime is usually very drowsy or constantly involuntarily napping. Hayato can usually never sleep on demand and will fall asleep at very inappropriate times because of this disorder. Hayato has began to accept this disorder as a part of himself and understands that he will never be able to cure it.
Hayato's narcolepsy happens quite frequently throughout the day. It happens at very inopportune times. He has passed out during training, academy classes, testing, fights, and eating among others. The strangest occurrences are when Hayato is conversing with a person and suddenly closes his eyes and falls asleep on his feet.
How easily he wakes up while under this kind of sleep depends on his state before his episode. If he passes out during battle or under tense situations, he will be very sensitive to sounds and touch, and will wake up easily. Usually under these situations he can resist the urge to sleep if the matter at hand is very urgent or he is extremely stressed. While in a relaxed environment it would be very difficult for someone to wake him up. Usually the episode must be waited out which can last anywhere from 3 minutes to 2 hours.
Hayato is stricken with a constant drowsiness due to the insomnia that also occurs from his narcolepsy. This has also caused him to be thought of as having a lack of emotion or having disrespect towards his superiors.
Alongside his uncontrollable naps, Hayato can also be irritable from this lack of sleep and his tolerance for anything annoying drops drastically. He will snap at people who are too energetic towards him, but usually feels bad for it.[/ul]
Appearance:Hayato
First and foremost, the most distinguishing part of Hayato is his eyes. The color is a bright crimson red that appear menacing. However, the color is the only part of his eyes that appear vicious. They always appear to be fatigued and lifeless due to the insomnia. The actual eye has a lot of beauty to it, but is hard to notice because of the outlying skin around it. Another outstanding part of his face is the marks under his eyes. For as long as he can remember he has had them and has been unable to remove them. Sometimes this gets him mistaken for somebody of the Inuzuka clan.
Hayato's expression always seems to be solemn. This is only the case when he doesn't feel in the mood to make any facial expression at all. The sleep deprivation makes him feel that making expressions is a waste of energy. Sometimes he just can't help it though. There are a few people who just happen to invoke a smile upon his face, and the same also goes for those who make him angry. Except the most extreme expression he'll usually give is a scowl.
Hayato has an average height, but makes up for it with his incredible build. This aids in giving him an imposing stature even when he lacks a bit in height. The muscle is incredibly lean, not having much bulk to him. His skin tone is also a bit darker and is very clear. The only imperfections in it are the bags around his eyes.
Hayato's hair is at medium length and naturally spiked outwards. The tips of his hair barely reaches down towards his eyes. Hayato has never really liked the brown color of his hair yet wouldn't like to see it black, blonde, or one of the extravagant colors. Because of this he usually just keeps it in the same style and doesn't mess with it much. He never really puts effort into it yet doesn't like to let it be wild and unkempt.
Hayato likes to wear different kinds of clothing. The only thing that really remains the same is his footwear. He either wears his toeless shoes or he goes barefoot. For his lower body attire he prefers to wear loose fitting pants or shorts when training, but likes to wear something that looks better when going out to town or if he ever got the chance to meet somebody. Dressing good is a way for him to try to make up for appearing so hostile in the face.
His upper body usually goes untamed from clothing when he is alone or training. He isn't afraid of getting it a bit dirty. Otherwise he wears just a vest that still exposes his chest or a simple shirt within these situations. For missions, he usually does the same thing but wears a tactical vest to store weapons. For when he tries to dress nicely, Hayato has a small collection of nice shirts and a pair of sunglasses to go with his pants.
Background:
First, we start with Hayato's parents. His father was born into a small family of the Kamyuja bloodline. However, he was not one to receive the bloodlimit. When he became an adult and still didn't gain the bloodlimit the rest of the family tried to kill him. While he wasn't physically strong he was very experienced in ninjutsu and genjutsu and used these techniques to escape with his wife.
Hayato's mother was unknown to the family but she insisted on fleeing with her husband, being a ninja herself. While they went into hiding the wife became pregnant. The baby only slowed them down, and so once it was born they abandoned it with a friend from the sound country and left immediately.
This man wasn't much of a good man but couldn't abandon an infant. So he decided to try and sell it at a market. A ninja from the sound village had heard him trying to sell it and took Hayato from him by force. Something so unwanted would be better off working as a ninja than being sold to some lunatic.
Even this ninja didn't want to take full responsibility of him though. He set up the infant in an orphanage and planned for him to go to the academy as soon as he was able to. The child would be able to move out and make his own life once he became a genin.
During his childhood Hayato was discriminated from the others right from the start. The red eyes and the look he had from being sleep deprived kept the other kids away from him. Then once they learned he was an orphan they shunned him even more than usual. Even at the orphanage he was an outsider. He wasn't even born in their country. Hayato was fine with this, as he was easily stronger than everyone in there at that age. He's never really known why, but he never cared to give much thought to it. The reason he quickly settled on was the markings under his eyes. Even the instructors considered him their least favorite as he always was taking naps during class. Once he even fell asleep during a sparring with another student. This was a sign of disrespect, as nobody knew that he had an actual disorder. At the time not even Hayato knew.
Hayato was unsurprisingly the best in the class at Taijutsu. By the time he graduated he was stronger than most ninja in terms of raw strength. For a long time that was all he relied on as a ninja. It wasn't until he was challenged by a girl from his academy class to a fight. She beat him horrifically. That was the first and final push that Hayato needed to become serious about being a shinobi. He refused to accept being lazy anymore for the sheer fact that he was beaten by a monumentally physically weaker opponent. This event happened while he was 17. That day marked the start of his serious career as a ninja.
I wish to take the incentive.

Narcoleptic
Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder caused by the brain's inability to regulate sleep-wake cycles normally.[1] People with narcolepsy often experience disturbed nocturnal sleep and an abnormal daytime sleep pattern, which often is confused with insomnia. Narcoleptics, when falling asleep, generally experience the REM stage of sleep within 5 minutes, while most people do not experience REM sleep until an hour or so later.
Narcolepsy is a neurological sleep disorder. It is not caused by mental illness or psychological problems. It is most likely affected by a number of genetic mutations and abnormalities that affect specific biologic factors in the brain, combined with an environmental trigger during the brain's development, such as a virus.
