Examiner 3- Team 1- Shigure and Calibretto

[Chuunin Examiner]

The letters given to the applicants scattered them, sending the many people to the far corners of the island that is the Land of Moon, although one team just took a short jaunt down the street to the corner.

Still, though, no matter where they were sent, the address always lead to the same building; a short, squat warehouse that seemed constantly out-of-place, no matter where it was. Rusty metal walls with a tin roof left it looking downright rickety, and the interior was no comfort. A double-wide door would grate horrificly on the concrete floor as it was opened, leading into a dimlit interrogation-style room. A waist-high wooden table, lined with scratches and stains, stood imposingly behind two chairs, with a singular chair behind it. The names of the persons belonging to said chairs was etched in the back, and was visible from the doorway. Behind the table, another door could be seen, likely where the leaders of the exams would enter. But- these were the Chuunins. Expect the unexpected.

Before the participants had arrived to the location, two individuals exited the mysterious door while whispering to each other. They were dressed in a black attire with a long red cloak hanging from their shoulders and a gas mask covering their faces. When they had reached the wooden table, they split up and walked into two opposite corners of the room. When they arrived to their spots, they turned completely silent and the only sound that could be heard was the creaking from the mysterious door closing. "They have arrived"
A dark voice said as the first genin arrived to the buildings front door.

Momoko Aburame - Standing at a flat 5' tall in her schoolgirl outfit Momoko adjusts her Butt Bag Type 1 that contains all of her Exploding Tags(20), Lock Tags(20) and her small scroll that contains Acid Burn her puppet. It even has an Electronic Compass and Wireless radio stuffed inside as well. She shifts the small clay pouch filled with explosive clay(20) slightly so that she has a better quick grab action of it. And adjusts the larger clay pouch attached to her midback packed completely with explosive clay(80). The Single Speed Loader Pouch connected to her belt containing a single kunai is slightly hidden by the clay pouch at her side. Tapping the toe of her shoes on the ground to insure firm positioning, the Triple Scroll Pouch strapped to her upper thigh hidden by her skirt remains perfectly held in place without moving at all or shifting the three small scrolls inside.


Slowly walking down the road Momoko continues to read her note. "So. It seems I am to show up...." She started when she looked up and stopped dead in her tracks. The building was like a small hobo barn setup to house the homeless. Or setup by the homeless. She couldnt tell which. With a squinting eyed look of disapproval she muttered "...here?"

Reaching up her hand she extends a couple chakra strings to the door moving it open as it grinds a loud scratching sound that reverberates in Momoko's head. "Son of a..." Her statement is cut off as she looks inside. The inside just as bad as the outside. Stepping in she releases the chakra strings from the door and only steps slightly inside intensely looking around watching her surroundings expecting someone or something to leap out at her.

Nonchalantly moving down some back-wooded foresty trail, Shigure couldn't help but notice he was following someone, one that seemed to be lost in the note that he had received also. If he remembered correctly, this girl had said her name to be Momoko in the entrance room; She was from Iwagakure as well. Though they weren't allied, Shigure hadn't heard of any Ill will towards Takigakure from them, so this girl was safe for now.

Arriving at the same destination as the small girl, Shigure grimmaced at the unsightly nature of the building they were seemingly made to enter. This is the chuunin examinations... and they couldn't even foot a bill to at least get a decent shack. Pitiful. The young genin allowed Momoko to enter first, as he was srtill a ways away from her. It seemed rather polite, as well as crafty to allow this girl to enter the unknown terror that awaited.

Reaching the doorway as well, it seemed the door itself was rather heavy. It had stayed put where the girl had left it; a door that heavy wouldn't be able to close by itself, especially if it grated on a floor as uneven as this.

Moving into the room, Shigure's only though was the horrendous sight of it all. It was plain and void of emotion. Nothing good could come of this room. Further inspection of the room, Shigure noticed two men with daunting cloaks, such as his, were lined up on opposite sides of the room, unmoving. This didn't seem like a 'Welcome to the chuunin exams!' type of invitation. How lack luster.

Being the Genjutsu specialist that he was, Shigure continued to make noted of the room, before his eyes met the two chairs in front of him. One said Momoko, and one stated his own name. The etchings looked neither old, nor new. Something was up with them, they couldn't have known both he and Momoko would participate, or that they would be paired together in this pseudo-hell of a house, could they?

Whether or not they were able to, Shigure refused to sit in his chair unless told too. For now he'd continue to memorize his arsenal. Under his cloak, which held two flash pouches, a slue of arsenal awaited. In a tactical vest, he'd house a wireless radio, 15 goo darts, 15 lightning darts, 15 covert listening device darts, a world map, 3 blood clot pills, and a compass. On his wrist held a senbon braclet filled to the brim with Senbon, his scroll holster on his thigh also held senbon, two slots worth. His butt bag on his waist only held 10 kunai, 57 senbon, 2 incendiary grenades, 3 smoke grenades, and 80 explosive tags.

Shigure didn't know if he needed all of his weaponry with him here, but it was better safe than sorry. Without speaking to Momoko, he'd look in her direction, and give off a weak smile, before his stare focused on the two identified people in the room. With Shigure wearing his cloak, he couldn;t help but notice that Momoko stuck out in the room like a sore thumb.

When both of the genins had walked into the room, the cloaked men slowly turned their heads towards them. Their faces couldn't be seen, but their bodies still was calm and didn't show any sign of leaving their designated spots. "Welcome...Welcome" As the dark voice greeted the two ninjas, the mysterious door opened and a slow tapping from wood against concrete could be heard.

"I'm here to", in the middle of the sentence, his voice got raspy and he started to cough. It took a couple of seconds before it calmed down and he was able to speak again. "Sorry, the lung cancer really got to me". Out from the darkness in the mysterious room, an old man with an eyepatch and a cane walked out. He had a little blood on both his right sleeve and on the corner of his mouth but didn't seem to be affected.

"As I was saying, I'm here to make you fail". He put a little more effort behind the last word and had his healthy eye watch the two ninjas reaction. "The ninja world isn't for everyone, and I really doubt you two... should even be called genins". He looked very judgmental when he noticed that Momoko had a schoolgirl outfit on her. A loud sigh could be heard from him and he took out a bunch of papers. "Aburame Momoko and Semitsu Shigure..both are way to young". The man said low to himself.

"Oh well, let's see if I'm able to make you return crying back to your villages any time soon." He tapped hard into the concrete floor twice. On the first tap, all the doors and windows was shut closed and the second one made the both young ninja's limbs become frozen. A sadness could be seen in the man's face before he took a deep breath and gas started to fill the room from the floor up. It was inescapable and within seconds it had reached the heads of the genins. Even if they resisted, they fell to sleep as soon as they took their first desperate breath.

When the two genins finally was waking up, they were in a much smaller room (10 x 15 meters). It was clinically clean with stone plated floor and concrete walls. The doorway into the room was covered in iron bars with 20 cm in between them and the only light reaching into the cell was from a lamp outside the bars. "You have 24 hours to exit the complex. If anyone of you die, both fail the exam. If one doesn't make it out, both of you fail.". Even though the man wasn't revealed, it was the same voice and tapping sound as the man walked away.

Momoko sat straight faced through his entire rant. She stayed focused on the surrounding but after he was done speaking a gas filled the room. The world spun and went black after. Momoko sat up with a start and looked around. The older gentleman seemed to be waiting for the two genin to awaken. Momoko had dismissed his previous comment about them not being called genin and listened as he explained their task. To escape. Momoko wondered what more than a simple set of bars it was he was talking about as the man was leaving. Surely a set of bars couldnt be the only thing for this exam.

Momoko pushed herself to a standing position. "Semitsu huh? Well it appears if we die we lose. Go figure." Momoko states to the other ninja in the room with her. "But the task is to escape. So. Lets escape. Starting with this room." She states reaching into her clay pouch and pulling out a large dumpling shaped ball of clay. Without further thought she brought the clay up to her mouth and bit off a large mouthfull. Placing the remaining back in the pouch she continues to chew as she reaches the bars examining them. Due to her specific genetic lineage her tenketsu setup was significantly different than other ninja. Her mouth and hands contained a higher concentration than the normal person. Forcing chakra through them and into the specially prepared clay she prepared a specific formula.

Her mouth chewed and her tongue , expertly skilled, formed and shaped the clay in her mouth. Like an artist at work her tongue would move the clay around creating the shapes she prepared. Once she'd examined the bars for a while she opened her mouth and eight off-white spiders skittered out of her mouth and leaped onto the bars. Four spiders landed on one bar, four on the one next to it. Two spiders crawled to the tops of a bar and two crawled to the bottom of the bar on both sets of bars.

"Alright. Just incase, its been a while so lets step back." Momoko said before turnning around. The spiders held onto the bars for dear life as momoko walked towards semitsu and ushered him to the back of the room. Standing in front of him she immediately held up her handseal and called out "KATSU!" As the spiders detonated like grenades blowing the bars off the wall in a clean cut explosion. Momoko waited for the dust to clear before she made her way to the bars again.

Effect: Allows the user to give a piece of clay explosive properties. Also determines the speed at which the user can produce a clay bomb(s). (See more below)

The clay bombs characteristics is directly dependent of the user rank of "Touji Itonami "(Clay Life).
The Amount of bombs; the amount of clay slots used to make a bomb; the size of the clay bomb; the maximum distance in which a clay creature may travel; and the amount of hands required to make a bomb will be stated within the bomb itself. (See more below)
Drawback:: The user must load the piece of clay into a mouth begin to chew. Every clay creation requires a certain amount of clay slots and time to prepared. Certain bombs regardless of the users rank, will require additional time and perpetration (stated with the jutsu itself) (See more below)
Description: The user loads a piece of clay into there mouths (any mouth) and begins to command the mouth the chew at the piece of clay. What is truly occurring during this mastication process is that the user is injecting and infusing their chakra directly into the piece of clay. Due to the user's blood line trait, the relocation and concentration of their Tenketsu allows the user is able to pump and redirect a very large amount of chakra to there hands and into the piece of clay (more then humanly possible). The mouths of the user allow for rigorous chewing, ensuring that their chakra is evenly dispersed through out the piece of clay. Once the user feels that the piece of clay has been properly imbued with their chakra, the user commands the mouth to spit out the prepped piece of clay, allowing for the next stage in refinement to occur. (See "Touji Itonami "(Clay Life)). If the user knows the D-ranked version of "Touji Hyu-zu" (Clay Infusion), they may only create up to D-ranked Bombs. If the user knows the C-ranked version of this technique, they may create only C-rank bombs and the D-ranked bombs before that; and so on and so forth until S-ranked is achieved (though some Bombs may state other wise).

Each Ranked Clay bomb requires a certain amount of time to be prepped. The users class and the bombs rank directly effects the amount of time the user will have to spend in preparation. The increased speed is due to the fact that as the user grows in strength and skill, thus so does his or her abilities to handle clay and produce clay bombs. This amount of time has been measured in post lengths:

Effect: Allows the user to give a prepped clay certain desired characteristics. Allow the user to control the clay creature. (See more below)

The speed at which a user can infuse the piece of clay is directly dependent of the user rank of "Touji Hyu-zu" (Clay Infusion). The The amount of bombs; the amount of clay slots used to make a bomb; the size of the clay bomb; the maximum distance in which a clay creature may travel; and the amount of hands required to make a bomb will be stated within the bomb itself. (See more below)
Drawback:: The user must have prepped a piece of clay using "Touji Hyu-zu" (Clay Infusion). (See more below)
Description: Clay Life is the true culmination of what a clay creation can really do. Directly after the user completes the fusion process derived from "Touji Hyu-zu" (Clay Infusion), he or she commands their mouth the spit out the piece of clay into their palm. The user further refines and molds this piece of clay using their fingers as it rests in his or her palms. During this refinement process, the users taps into their memory bank and focuses on a desired shape and characteristic they wish to endow their clay bomb with. This selected design is usually something which they have seen and witnessed from real life already. Once they are completed with the refinement process, a small clay version of what they desired rests within there hands. This refined piece of clay may take the shape of a variety of creatures; from insects to birds to reptiles or even mammals and must be stated by the user. (Some restrictions on what type of creature can be produced will stated by the jutsu itself).

From this point on, "Katsu" is used to enlarge their clay creature to a desired size. While enlarged and fully formed, the clay creature will Permanently act in the same mannerism as the creature it is molded after and Only the mannerism of the clay creature it is molded after. A Clay bird will fly, A clay spider will crawl, a Clay fish will swim, etc. Information and restrictions on the clay creature is stated within the jutsu. This entire process of refinement is far quicker then the infusement process and posting time is not required in this case. The user rank within this jutsu determines which bomb he or she can create. If the user only knows the D-ranked version of "Touji Itonami "(Clay Life) he or she may only control D-ranked bombs. If the user only knows the C-ranked version of "Touji Itonami "(Clay Life) he or she may only control C-ranked bombs, and D-ranked bombs before that; and so on and so forth until S-rank (though some Bombs can state other wise).
Each clay creature has a varying enlarged size and shape:

S-rank Clay life: allows for the creation of creatures of the Epic size, (12ft- in length, stated by the jutsu itself).


The clay creature follows the users will on a near telepathic level. The user dictates which direction a clay creature may go and also dictates when the clay creature will detonate. A clay creature cannot act and attack on its free will and requires the users command. It cannot move to areas which the user does not know or see and detonate thereafter. (This does not apply to certain clay bombs). The clay creature cannot travel great distances from the user or last indefinitely. The maximum distance in which the clay creature can move is the same as the user's visual distance (a normal human visual distance). As this distance increases, it becomes harder to control clay creature(s). Beyond the visual range, the user is unable to maintain control of their clay creature and they become useless as they cannot detonate (though some Bombs can state other wise).The users chakra that has been imbued into the clay creature does not last longer then 1 minute if not detonated (unless the jutsu states differently as well). Afterwards, the users chakra completely dissipates form the clay creature, returning it into harmless lumps of shapeless clay, regardless of what rank bomb has been created.

“Grenade”-[10tp]

Effect: Creates a very weak explosion.
Special: Refer to “Katsu”.

(Maximum size: small sized creature)
(Maximum amount: 1 creature for one slot used)
Drawback:: Time and preparation. Very little destructive power.
Description: After molding and infusing a piece of clay, the user may form any creature they wish from the clay (spiders, birds, etc. Small size). This clay creation moves about, fulfilling the users desires. Upon command, this clay creature will explode, creating a small blast in its wake. This explosion is roughly the equivalent to 1/4 of an “Exploding tag”. Being caught in the explosion leaves very minor burns, burn marks and lacerations, but nothing to damaging. The radius of the explosion is roughly 1 meter in size.
Limit:Must know "Katsu", Kuchisaki Seichuu (Mouth Control) at least once, D-ranked "Touji Hyu-zu" (Clay Infusion) and D-ranked "Touji Itonami "(Clay Life)

Drawback:: If the user performs "Katsu" for detonation, their is no way to stop the detonation. The Bomb will explode no matter what (Though Certain bombs may be the exception to this rule, stated by the jutsu itself ).
If the user uses "Katsu" to enlarge a clay creature, that said clay creature Cannot revert back to its minuter version. The clay creature enlarges no matter what (Though Certain bombs may be the exception to this rule, stated by the jutsu itself).
Description: A special handseal. This seal denotes "Concentration". A sankuchi uses this sign for a variety of purposes; whether it is to alter the size of certain creations, cause a creation to detonate or give a special effect stated by a certain jutsu/clay creation. The handseal is one of the users hand head upward, his/her index and middle finger held upward, while his/her thumb, ring finger and pinky held inward towards the palm. The user may also hold both the index and middle fingers of both there hands together, crossing there pinky and ring finger, with there thumbs meeting as well. (Either way gives the same effect, no being superior to the other). Katsu is used in a the majority of the Sankuchi jutsus, and its effects are constant unless otherwise stated.

"Katsu" detonates any bomb the user selects, but detonates all of the same bombs for the same set. For example, if the user creates 2 clay spiders for "Tagging bombs" and 2 clay Birds for "Grenade", the user may choose to detonate the clay birds used for "Grenade" and Not the spiders used for "Tagging bomb".
However, the user detonates all the Clay birds at the same time and not one after another. In the case above, once the user decides to detonate the 2 clay birds used in "Grenade", they are both destroyed at the same time. (Some Jutsus may be the exception to this rule, stated by the jutsu itself).
Limit: Only useful to the Sankuchi. Anyone may learn this, but why?

Waking up to find himself in a pristine room would only lessen Shigure's aggravation with himself. He couldn't believe he was taken so easily to this new cement and stone room. Gas was something he didn't expect, but it was his fault for not caring about the strange people with the gas masks. It was so simplistic to stop, but he had allowed himself to get caught. Oh well, guess its time to actually start caring.

Standing up, he'd check himself first and foremost for his gear. It was all still in tack, and no bodily harm had come to him. Good. Shigure's second thoughts were diminished by the man's voice once more, listening to everything the mysterious man had to say. Before blacking out, Shigure shrugged off the i'm here to make you fail' as well as the 'your to young to be here' comments. He didn't let age nor threats bother him. He was only here for one purpose, to be recognized. If a 15 year old genin was too young for the exams, he'd only surprise them by completing them.

Momoko and he were suppose to be paired and work as a team? Amazing. At least he didn't have to try and kill her, it would work better for two heads to figure out these exams anyways. As he listened to the girl, he'd nod when she began her attempt to break free. "Shigure Semitsu, and im glad to have you on my side, anything you need, just ask." He didn't know the girl enough to care about her, but the teenager was selfish. They both had to succeed in order to him to pass... He'd drag this girl threw these exams if he had too.

Noticing the clay enter her mouth, he'd question it's abilities, for he had never seen a Sankuchi operate. Regardless of its abilities, he'd make note that if she was going to try and use force to break down the door, at least he could help in guarding from debris.

Forming Handseals as she chewed, Shigure's chakra began flowing out of him, mixing itself with his wind affinity. The handseals were done, and so was the technique. Once the spiders formed and made there way to the door, He'd allow the invisible wall of wind to fully form, between them and the door. It was a weaker shield, but hell, anything was better than nothing.

The clay spiders exploded like Shigure had thought they would, and any debris from said explosion would hit the wall without harm, the smoke rippling from the wall to allow Momoko to see it in its entirety. Once the dust began to settle, to allow the girl to check her workmanship, he'd dispel the wall with ease. Let's hope this had worked.

Effect: Creates an invisible wall of high pressure air anywhere on the battlefield. Multiples ones can be placed creating for an extremely good defense and a confusing time for opponents who keep running into walls.
Special: Handseals
Drawback: Can be seen through by Byakuugen and Sharingan.
Description: The user creates the bird handseal and pushes outward creating the wall. This is useful for a quick defense when an opponent is running towards you or to scatter around the battlefield to trap or confuse then opponent.
Limit: Must have wind release.

The blast from the small spiders were weak, but managed to damage the iron bars enough for them to fall down. Debris flew all over the room with a devastating force, but was luckily stopped by Shigune's invisible wall. The dust cloud that was created from the blast vanished within seconds, and the two genins were able to see the other side. The walls continued to be in the same boring concrete but the floor changed into some kind of hard plastic material in the hall.

The prison cell they had been in appeared to be the final one in a long hall with 18 other cells on the right side of the corridor. So when the two ninjas walked out, they'd see a dead-end to the right and a long hall to the left. Neither one of the other cells had anything special in them, except for some remains of small humans and they all had their bars intact.

Five meters from the last cell, a dark green cloud of smoke could be sighted. It didn't appear as the sleeping gas, but as it seem to remain in place it had to be used as an obstacle rather than a knock out attempt. The vision inside the gas was extremely low, and all scents was killed by the gas.

Suddenly a speaker at the entrance to the cloud crackled and they could hear a familiar voice, although a bit mechanic. "So you're not completely useless then? but a ninja isn't always ....*coughes*.. fully prepared with items... but for now... tic toc" The speaker then got quiet and small flames appeared from within it.

Looking around as she exited momoko took in the sights and cataloged the layout mentally so to keep track of the map as she progressed. After the voice came on the speaker and finished its ranting she looked ahead to the gas. The gas itself didnt move, which was odd for most gaseous structures as even some of the most dense fog still has motion and will settle to the ground without air flow. She approached the gas wall without getting closer than a few feet while she examined it. And for a few seconds she stood motionless. Slowly a stream of black what appeard to be liquid flowed down out from under her sleeves down to coat her hands. Both arms now solid black and almost shiny she stood with her arms outward to her side like a "T" shape.

"Im not exactly sure what the fog is made of, but Im under the impression some sort of chakra is holding the fog still. If so, this will help." She states as she brings her arms forward still fully extended and the black coating on her arms lifts up with a faint buzzing sound as the fog of black forms together in between her extended arms. Swarming insects creating a floating ball of hungry mouths. Forward the insects fly and into the fog dispersing throughout. If the fog has any chakra at all, even faint residual amounts, the kikaichu will find it and eat it. The insects have been sent with the sole mission to eat as much chakra as they can in a tunnel shape in order to try and disperse a large portion of the fog. If they find no chakra or begin to get sick they are to immediately send a small batch back to momoko to inform her. And while she makes no plans to reabsorb the insects she will be awaiting one result or another.

Should the insects survive and return finding no chakra they will be sent back in immediately to try and locate a path through the fog so they can find a path for her to lead her partner through.

Description: This allows the user the control the kikaichu in the use for their techniques. he bugs feed and live off the Chakra which the body stores and in return the Ninja gets to control and command the bugs, using them as their primary fighting technique. These bugs have the ability to drain chakra through physical contact with the enemy (and possibly consume a fraction of the host's chakra as well.)

Shigure was amazed at the sheer force behind the blast from the little girl's clay technique. Instead of seeing her merely as an obstacle to overcome in these exams, he'd note too keep his eye on her and her techniques from now on. This was not only a test, but a giant lesson as well. Before elaving the room in which they were held, he'd quickly pick up the crowbar, slipping it into his belt loop. The bowl itself he'd take, stashing it under his cloak, attaching it to one of the hooked slots within. The fact that they were within the room of nothingness made him think they were gifts rather than props. They could be needed.

Following his partner's lead, He'd move into the hallway, scoping out the layout rather quickly, stopping his movement as they came to the next set of imprisonments. Given that surprises were around every corner, these individual rooms could each hold a surprise party just for the two of them.

Apparently.. the girl didn't think so.

Shigure's right hand went forward in a grasping motion but all he caught was air. Momoko had already moved towards the impending cloud of green gaseous looking cloud, that in fact, oddly stood still. It also seemed nothing was going to pop out at them from the other cells, so Shigure moved to stand a little closer to Momoko, five meters away in fact. Hearing the old pirate-man's voice once more, Shigure grimaced. This wasn't going to get any easier, unfortunately.

As The girl began another amazing feat, Shigure's amazement began to fade a little. So this girl could make origami out of her saliva, and now she controlled a horde of insects. Shigure chalked this up as strange, but intriguing. 'some sort of chakra is holding the fog still. If so, this will help.' Hearing this, Shigure's mindset went from amazed to focused. If the cloud of smoke was held still by Chakra... if the Chakra was no longer present, wouldn't said gas now move freely?

Having little faith in this idea, Shigure couldn't help but to begin thinking about a correction plan if the girl wasn't correct (hopefully she was). In his mind came a picture of the gas masks that they two men were wearing in the old wearhouse... but how to mimick them? Comming to the only conclusion possible, the young genin began another set of Handseals, again... just on the safe side. Without warning, more chakra pushed out of the boy, flooding into the room, but this time forming in 10 masses that held close to the red-headed teenager.

If the jutsu was not interrupted, 10 invisible air cubes would now begin floating freely around Shigure. He was able to make more, but they had limited space to move, and the cube's were rather big; one meter by one meter each. While ten cubes rested around the boy, the other 10 would always vigilant above Momoko. "I've got your back, Momoko." If anything were to happen he had a backup plan. At any notice of gas beginning to leak into their direction, Shigure would begin to use the cube near the girl as well as one of his own to create a makeshift air helmet to allow them to breathe freely. In fact, the boy began to complete the handseals just for said purpose.

The cubes are always moving around the user and do not need constant chakra channeling to it, it’s one time technique. The cubes last until they are depleted by a technique or the user dispels them. The user can control the cubes in a twenty meter radius around them and can make a total of ten cubes when first learnt. Additional C rank training adds five meters to the control that can be trained up to forty five meters and adds ten cubes that can be trained up to one-hundred.

The bugs started to fly into the cloud and search for some chakra reserves hidden within it. It didn't take more than a few seconds before a few of them returned with filled stomachs, but when 1/5th of all the bugs had returned, the room got silent and no other bugs came back to Momoko. The gas cloud didn't seem to have lost any density, but it did start moving very slowly, still held together by chakra.

The fire that had started in the speaker had started to burn the wall behind it and surprisingly the concrete actually was caught on fire. Even though the flames started to become rather big, they still spread very slowly. An experienced fire user would notice that the flames spread towards the gas rather than upwards as they ought to do. It was as the only flammable concrete was the one on the way to the gas.

The air sphere's levitated over both of the ninjas calmly and one of the ones above Momoko that was inside the cloud appeared to be pushing it away even further than its radius. So outside the sphere, it was another 10 cm that was unaffected by the gas cloud.

"So it appears there is in fact chakra holding the gas in place AND it seems to move away from air techniques. Maybe i can clear a path first." She stated examining the gas once more. Pacing back and forth for a second she continued. "Im going to direct a strong wind blast down the path of the gas, the Kikaichu came back unharmed physically so the gas appears to pose no threat to the skin. After ive sent the blast in we need to move quickly before the gas returns to its position so we can get through it faster." She tried to state sounding informative but soft. She didnt want herself to sound like a strict ass even though alot of her speech patterns came off that way. Looking towards the buffet of air near the gas and around her and then the other near Shigure she turns to face him. "That thing you're doing that pushes the gas away, you might keep a few of those near our heads just incase its poisonus to inhale." Momoko stated quickly and turned back to face the gas.

"Stay as close to me as you can. From what i can see from here it doesnt appear we'll be able to see very far ahead of ourselfs in there. Dont get lost. Let me know when you're ready and we can move." She called back to Shigure. Momoko prepared herself and awaited shigure's signal he was ready, once he gave the signal he was ready she would initiate the technique. Momoko's arms directed a mass of chakra as she flew through a series of handseals and slams her hand on the ground while simultaneously calling back. "Alright, lets go." The instant her hand hit the ground a roaring dome of wind lept forward into the gas cloud. The dome of air which started its edge at her hand and extended into the gas, so that the gas was under its direct effect and not the two shinobi, was filled with rapidly moving razor sharp wind gusts that would tear flesh easily and damage anything with stone or less strength. The technique normally meant to push back and damage opponents was to now be used to buffet the gas back in a wide spread area so to clear a path for a short while allowing the shinobi to move through.

If shigure caught her meaning and directed the cubes of pressure around their heads as she had stated they both could move forward. Momoko put on a strong face and took the lead as a defense mechanism to hide her nervousness at this task. She'd never been in a situation where she was responsible for the life of a fellow ninja and wasnt about to let some cocky old man be right about his predictions about her.

Fuuton: Kamisorikaze (Wind Release: Razor Wind)

Effect: Creates a small domain a centralized area. This technique is used to cut, and push back opponents that are within the same sphere distance as the user in which is capable of performing the technique.
Special: Handseals slamming hand onto the ground.
Drawback: Effects allies caught within it as well.
Description: The user performs the handseals and them slams their right hand onto the ground. Immediately, a burst of wind extends outwards, forming a dome of violently spinning and twisting wind. This effect lasts until the user takes their hand off of the ground or one turn, whichever occurs first. This technique is capable of sending the opponent flying off into the distance of half of the user's capability of performing this technique. The technique's distance depends on the user's class level. When first learned the user is capable of performing this technique within the distance of ten meters. For each class level the user is higher then that of "D" class the distance increases by ten meters, as one who masters the art of the Wind Release adds in an extra ten meters.

Shigure had noticed just as Momoko did that his cube had begun to push back the gas, clearly away from them. So air could act as a pushing factor after all. The boy listened to what the girl had to say, agreeing with her wholeheartedly. This was their only opporotunity to advance into the depths of this mysterious prison. For only a moment did the boy think about his teammates thatw ere in their separate exams. Hopefully they were able to make it through.

Finishing the technique he had prepared, the five cubes around his head began to shape themselves, wrapping and contorting around Shigure's head, in the shape of a space helmet, but a rather large one at that. The helmet's base pinched somewhat tightly to the boy's neck, but not enough to restrict breathing. "This might feel uncomfortable, but it will work." He'd state, to Momoko, as he attempted to do the same to her set of cubes, concealing her head. This would give them a few minutes of air each within the rather large helmets.

Just as the girl began to attempt her own set of abilities, Shigure couldn't help but notice a streak of fire issuing from the malfunctioned speaker towards the gas. It followed a set path, which meant it was suppose to happen, and that it could easily ignite the gaseous cloud, which could possibly end both their lives in an instant. Good thing he was cautious enough to bring ample ways to diffuse any situation.

Reaching into his tactical jacket through his cloak, he'd grab a dart from within one of the slotted pouches. The dart was unique in its nature, having contained a goo pouch within its form. Shigure quickly gabbed the dart into the path of the fire, allowing it plenty of room to attempt to detonate before the fir reached its point as they took off into the gas. 6 seconds was all they had to move as far away as possible.

While rushing into the gas filled area with the girl he couldn't help but think ill of his plan, forming handseals, allowing chakra to fill the area behind them, Quickly turning around while still moving, Shigure would the face the chakra, force his palms out, attempting to form another wind wall. The wall itself fit nicely within the hallway's passage, sealing off any flow around, below, or above it's boarders, aligning itself with the concrete. If the explosion occurred, or if the goo traveled too far, the wall would buffet the fire momentarily, or completely stop the goo from advancing Whichever explosion occurred first. Every second counted. "We gotta move quicker."

Twisting his body around to face naturally forward once more, the boy continued at a decent speed through the make-shift path made by the girl. These exams were possible after all, or so he hoped.

Shigure had successfully placed the air helmets on them both and was able to gab the dart in the fire's path. The plan was running smoothly, and he could see that he would have a couple of seconds before the fire even would reach the dart, and by then both of them should easily be far from the explosion.

The gas cloud had started to leak more and more of its cloud into the space the two ninjas were standing in, as if the chakra loss had started a snowball effect which made it increasingly unstable. But as Momoko used her razor winds, the gas immediately cleared a lot of space in front of them, and even though the winds only affected about 20-30 meters forward, all the gas in the corridor 50 meters in front of the duo was getting pressed further in. At the end of the gas, they could now see that even though the corridor appeared to continue on along with the gas, at 45 meters, there were a wooden grid blocking the way. It would be hard to both cut and force open.

But the wind had a negative effect, the wind that pushed out from Momoko knocked Shigure away from her and into one of the concrete walls. The blast itself didn't do any damage to the boy, but the force of the knockback had been strong, making the impact painful. The fire and dart did however stay in place even due to the harsh winds. This meant they were loosing time, and when Momoko stopped the technique, the gas cloud was quickly pouring back into place and would fill the whole tunnel in 10 more seconds.

As shigure was thrown back momoko immediately took in her surroundings visually. Once he'd hit the wall she rushed forward and grabbed him yanking him to a stable stand to avoid him falling and hitting his head on the ground. "Cant have you dying on me now. Wouldnt look good for either of us." She stated with a smirk after examining his head quickly and spotting no blood.

"Come on. I saw a wooden grid, or grate of some kind at the end of the path here, lets see if we can get it open before its too late." She spoke with a sense of urgency in her voice. Nearly dragging him down the path way trying to break into a full run she knew they only had a limited time before the gas closed back around them and they were forced to use something again to clear it visually. She intended on figuring out a plan of attack for this wooden blockade after they arrived at it.

Moving forwards, Shigure heard an ushering of words utter from Momoko's mouth, only to be completely blindsided by her attempt to clear the path. The sudden impact of the winds would thrust his body towards the nearby wall, impacted at a decent force. A little dazed from the quick blast, Shigure felt his arm being pulled forward. His muscles were more shocked then hurt, which made him tense. It was apparently an attempt at redemption from the little girl.

"I'm... okay I think..."

If they didn't have to work together to get out of this place, the boy would have a few choice words for her. Ultimately he would negate his current feelings for the goal ahead. Checking his Helmet to make sure no cracks were evident, the genin let out a sigh of relief. No harm done. He wasn't even hurt... guess he was lucky.

Just as Shigure thought he was okay, a loud explosion would set forth. If it wasn't he that knew of/created the immediate explosion, he more than likely could have jumped from the sound. The goo-dart he had placed in the way of the oncoming trail of fire had exploded, attempting to cover much of the hallway in which they had just left. The expulsion of goo should have covered anything in a 5 meter radius from its holding place, dousing the fire, and covering the defective speaker. His wind wall he had placed should also be covered in the adhesive material, though it hadn't faltered. Hopefully that was the end of those worries.

Being pulled towards the wooden wall, Shigure couldn't help but think that this would be an obstacle that they would have more trouble with than anything thus far. From common knowledge, gas wasn't just flammable, but extremely combustible. Any bad attempt at cutting the bars down with anything metallic could produce sparks, in which the entire room could explode. That was not an option.

Think, Shigure... THINK.

He didn't want to waste anymore chakra, he had already began taping into the precious resource way to much as of late. He had plenty more to go around, but there had to be another way to do it, shouldn't there?

Pushing on the grated wood gave it no movement. FUCK.

What is the purpose of all this... it couldn't be this deadly just to get a stupid title... They were surrounded by Gas, which could possibly ignite at the whim of a eye-patched lunatic. Even if it did, they couldn't just be rushed to safety if they wanted to fail... this was survival, which meant anything that could push them forward just a little bit more would help to allow them to survive. In turn, that meant they were being forced to excrete chakra just for the hell of it.

The only quick conclusion Shigure came to would be voiced by the genin, spouting it towards Momoko so that she would understand clearly. "I've got this." Taking the offensive for once, Shigure took the crowbar out of his belt loop, shoving it in-between two of the wooden bars way above his head for leverage. Not allowing the crowbar to touch the cement wall or the stone floor would be essential, just so the possibility of ignition could be extinguished. Making sure the crowbar didn't budge, Shigure's hands fell into the quick motion of handseals. It was his only option for surviving in this hell hole, he didn't have very much physical strength.

With the handseals being completed, chakra began to rush down his legs into the soles of his feet, at a quick rate, no less. As enough had formed, He'd simultaneously move his hands upward towards the crowbar, and release the technique. Without interruption, wind chakra would burst forth from his feet, causing an extreme momentum being forced into his hands, the force attempting to use the crowbar as a lever, hopefully dislodging the grated wall. If successful, Shigure's attempt at a jump would reach him to a maximum height of 5 meters in the air. He didn't want to hit the ceiling, now did he?

Effect: Releasing a jet of air from the users legs allows her/him to reach greater heights (Twenty Plus Meters, Depending on Training)

Drawback: The user had best mark their target well for a missed landing could result in a nasty fall. Also, if intending to increase the power of an attack, the user best hope they aren’t thrown off balance or miss their target (which would inevitably throw them off balance as well as they try come to a stop) as they could end up being seriously hurt.
Description: Allows the user to reach greater heights by combining chakra and the wind element; releasing the combo via the lower legs just before the user launches into the air. It’s difficult to perform as it requires precise timing along with an understanding of how to mix chakra with an element. The user can jump to a max of twenty meters at C rank level with an added five meters per C rank training. The user can also attempt to use it to rush in for an attack but it's ill-advised due to the drawbacks stated above.

The wind wall remained intact, and it appeared as most of the goo went into the cells in the hallway, which released the pressure from the wall. But it also made the room have a really low quantity of oxygen, which would become a problem if the two ninjas wouldn't have had their air helmets on them.

When Shigure took the crowbar and jammed it between the wooden bars and jumped upwards, he felt how little pressure he really had to use to take them off. It was if it had been constructed to take all the force from the front, but none from behind. But Shigure noticed this early enough to be prepared for the impact on the roof, and maybe even turn around to land on his feet. When the wooden wall fell in front of the two ninjas, the gas past them with an impressive speed and filled the remaining tunnel all the way to the wind wall. It did keep a good distance to the wind techniques however, so it never touched them. But now when they both where inside the gas, they felt how some of their energy left them, and the gas cloud around them got slightly thicker as time progressed.

Behind the wooden wall, the tunnel continued on into a Y crossroad. Neither one of the roads appeared to be more appealing as they looked just the same and when the two ninjas reached it, they heard the old man's voice. "Good, I thought I wasn't going to be allowed to test my new toys on anyone this exam. *coughs* But I have to give you the opportunity.... forfeit now... or I will get to have my last wish met" When he had finished speaking, he continued on coughing, but this time a lot worse, and the two young ninjas could hear how the man coughed up blood or at least mucus.

The man would wait for their response, but as they stood there between the crossroad, their chakra slowly diminished and their airsupply was used up. If the two ninjas would decide to continue, they'd notice that both of the roads were leading into the same big room (50m x 35m) with a large hole pumping out the strange gas into the tunnelsystem. The hole appeared to have threads, as if it was meant for a screw. On the top of the room, a closed door without doorknob could be seen.

Momoko stood listning to the old man talk and when he finished she shot a slightly insulted and almost confused look at Shigure. "You would think the old fart would understand that if we wanted out we wouldnt have signed up for this in the first place. Maybe after this is said and done ill bake him a "pie" She stated to shigure while simultaneously patting her clay pouch and giving a wicked smile. Presuming Shigure will follow Momoko leads them down the path to the room and looks in. The gas being pumped out of a hole in the wall bothers Momoko. "Chakra is created by converting phsyical and mental energy into a usable power. If this fog keeps draining the reserves we've already created we'll be forced to create more. Stamina recovers over time but it would be pointless to continue to create chakra while this fog is here. I say we form a barrier and burn it off. If we can clog the hole temporarily and clear enough of the fog out we can detonate the clogged hole and let it backfire into itself destroying whatever mechanism is pumping this aweful gas through this area." Momoko states outloud pacing in the rooms entry way. Though she sounds more like she's talking to herself than to shigure as she hasnt once looked at him for any confirmation.

Momoko places her hands together holding the ram handseal and stands perfectly still. Shigure notices a bulge in the shoulder-blade sections of her back as slowly a pair of dark black raven feather wings begins protruding from her. Within moments she's sprouted a full , large set of almost shiny black wings. Rolling her shoulders as if trying to shrug off a slight ache she folds her wings back and walks closer to the hole. "The air pressure in this room would build very rapidly and begin to crush us if it was 100% airtight, so obviously the gas is moving somewhere. And that means its not ONLY gas in this room. So..."She starts. And with a sudden movement she drops to the ground on one knee and her wings shoot straight up streching to startling heights. With a single downward flap Momoko sends a massive gust of wind outwards in all directions pushing the gas back quite a distance from her. With no hesitation she stands up and gently moves her wings in a slow flapping motion almost "rolling" her wings back when she pulls them back and flapping them widely at the gas. The gently movements pushes the heavy gas back a decent destance and the little girl stands in a center of cleared air taking a repreive from the draining effects of the gas. Due to the surface area of her wings and the gentle rolling/flapping motion she's making momoko need not expend a large amount of effort to keep the gas at bay but she would run out of time if Shigure was drained of all his chakra so she went to work immediately.

Moving at a walking pace she approached the hole , which forced her to increase her wing flapping to keep up with knocking the gas away from her. Rapidly she went through a series of handseals and leaned forward spitting a powerful blast of extremely thick and sticky syrup or tar like substance down the hole and immediately stepped to the side just incase. The substance was very thick and very sticky, certainly the substance should provide enough of a clog for the hole for her to begin her next part of the plan. And should the substance indeed hold in place long enough to start clogging the hole Momoko would immediately begin flapping her wings near the hole to push as much of the gas away from her location as possible. Should Shigure understand her plan he would need to send something down the hole that could detonate or ignite the extremely flamable plug she'd placed down the hole.

Effect: Lets the user grow wings of a bird out of their shoulders.

Drawback:: The user may feel some pain, due to the initial outburst of the extra shoulder bones that are used for the rest of the wings to grow on. Cannot Re-grow wings that were ripped or severed from the body. If one wing is removed then it is impossible to retract the wings. If a wing is injured somehow, once retracted they cannot be used for 2 weeks OOC.
Description: The user forms the handseal, and then the extra shoulder bones that come from the Ritual of Talon and Feather burst through the back of the user and they start to grow into wings of any given bird, through chakra increasing the length of the bones, (user chooses) that are twice the length of the user’s arms. Chakra will numb the pain, but it will still hurt. The chakra will also accelerate the growth of the skin, but it will come out with feathers, having stimulated the chemical. The user may then use the wings to fly and perform other techniques that require this jutsu. When the Tsubasa wishes it or has an injured wing they can retract the wings into their body to heal over time or simply to hide them.
Limit: Must be a Tsubasa, must have Ritual of the Talon and Feather performed on them.

Drawback:: Guidance of an experienced Tsubasa. [PC or NPC]
Description: This training will allow the Tsubasa to control their wings properly after growth. Without the training control of the Tsubasa's wings will be jerky and extremely difficult. The control will be harsh enough that the Tsubasa will be unable to fly without it and merely have the wings for show. With the simple exercises and control methods taught by the experienced Tsubasa, the user will rid them self of the problem of controlling a new appendage and be able to use their wings as if born with them naturally.
Limit: Must be a Tsubasa, must know Wing Grow, must have Ritual of the Talon and Feather performed on them.

Effect: Coats the opponent in a viscous, very adhesive, highly flammable oil.
Special: Handseals
Drawback:: Must be ten meters away from the opponent (at most). Two turns must pass before the technique can be utilized again. Fades away after six turns of not being burned.
Description: Chakra converged into the user's gullet converts into a highly viscous, flammable oil that is spewed, linearly, onto the opponent. Submerging oneself in water will not wash this sticky oil off. Adds to the effects of katon-based techniques as it burns until it has been completely burned away (3 turns, user and opponent).
Limit: Must Have Water Release.

Well.. it worked.

Shigure stood along with Momoko at their newest challenge, a fork in the road. Continuing on, he'd follow Momoko down her chosen path, choosing to stick together, but it didn't seem like it really mattered... Once they entered the vast room, Shigure couldn't help but notice that the exit to the other pathway had ended up here as well. The straight-forwardness of this exam wasn't very taxing on them, which the Challenge was more along the lines of physical ability.

This was made apparent at the sickly man spouting another 'hint' at their next task. 'New Toys' didn't sound comforting, in the least.
Agreeing with Momoko, Shigure couldn't help but speak up as well. "I don't even think he should be here in the first place... he needs to go to a hospital."

Keeping an eye out for the new arrivals the old man promised, Shigure thought quickly about Momoko's plans. He struggled to think the gas was much of an issue if they were still able to breath, but if the girl wanted it gone, it shall be gone. At this time, Shigure couldn't help but think of his teammates, and how Phyre could easily burn the gas away, but he himself didn't have an affinity for Katon. Shigure did have a surprise in his bag though.

Shigure's pale left hand reached itself into his buttbag, retrieving an incendiary grenade. If Momoko wanted to burn it off, then so be it. As the girl began to blow the stagnant Gas to the edges of the room, Shigure released the tab on the grenade, activating it's timer. Once done, the boy quickly threw it towards the center of the hole, attempting to drop it into its depths. It had a 6 second delay, and should be enough to sink into the hole far enough for them to escape the damage caused from such grenade.

Description: Incendiary grenades (or thermite grenades) produce intense heat by means of a chemical reaction. The body is practically the same as that of a smoke grenade. The grenade has a death distance with fire within 5 meters radius while having a severe burning/wounding distance of 15 meters radius within the point of origin. It takes 6 seconds before it explodes.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo Each

Even though Momoko was successful in pushing the gas pouring into the room back into the hole, large quantities of gas was still in the room and spread out, making it thinner and cover a bigger area. This made the less concentrated gas getting pushed even further away from the two genin's helmets, as if it didn't have the power to fight the air technique any longer. As it grew weaker, it also stopped draining the two genins from their remaining chakra.

At the hole, Momoko's oil was able to block the gas by forming a thin layered bubble in the hole. It did however swell rather quickly and would burst within 10 seconds. But as it didn't come out any more gas from the hole for a short while, Momoko would be able to stop flapping her wings and move away if she wished. "I'm sorry to hear that Shigure, you actually made me believe in you there for a second." The man then turned the speaker off, but instead of letting it catch on fire again, it just fell down to the ground in a pile of rubbish.

When the grenade was in the air towards the hole, a couple of heavy steps could be heard on the floor above them. Something big had been awoken, and was quickly walking towards the door in the roof (7 meters up). A loud crash echoed throughout the tunnels as the door was broken in two, which made debris fall from it and land in the room. As the grenade fell into the whole and had about 2 seconds left on its timer, three different large puppet-dragon heads leaned through the newly created hole in the door and smiled as they looked on the genins.



When the grenade had one second left, the smallest one of the puppets opened his mouth and roared into the room. What would happen next?

[ooc: I had to edit it as I've missed a detail that could've changed things. But it ought to be correct now. The grenade will pierce the oil bubble right before the blast, so no gas will leak before the explosion.]
