Sneaking through the forests of Kaminari no Kuni, Katsu kept his hands on his equipment to keep it from rattling. The Dual Release Pouch projector filled with three slots of pouches (one slot Incendiary, one Goo, one Ice) fit snugly against Katsu's back next to his quiver that held at maximum three-hundred arrows, and was filled near to capacity with 170 Broadpoint, 50 Mechanical Blade, 20 Fragmentation, 10 Concussive, 9 Ice, 4 Fire, 10 Flash, 10 Flare, and 10 Goo arrows. Both those containers were secured by straps to Katsu's Tactical Vest that held his 15 Shuriken, 4 kunai, 2 knives, 57 senbon, a multi-tool, 20 Exploding Tags, 20 Ice Tags, 20 Lightning Tags, 80 Locking tags, a Continental Map and a Map of Frost Country, and a standard compass. Over these a Cloak would keep everything under wraps, and the cloak itself contained an eight piece lockpick set. A hood went over Katsu's head to hide his face in shadow, and the hood itself held his Sniper Goggles, an expensive piece of work that held six different types of visual improvements, his Wireless Radio, and his Holodisk.
Still this list didn't include Katsu's more overt weaponry which included his 110 lb Draw Recurve Bow (Arrows with no Bow would be silly) held in his right hand, his Fuuma Shuriken stowed on the right side of his waist, his Battle Axe that was stowed along with it, and the Longsword adorning his left hip with 15 meters of looped wire held snug as well. Katsu also had stowed inside his tactical vest his Gas Mask, just in case, and a book on forest animals, also just in case. Finally, Katsu had a pair of spring-release claw gauntlets on his arms and a pair of greaves on his legs. Underneath Katsu's wide pants and loose shirt, of course.
On Katsu's shoulder sat his partner Seishin, a beautiful Snowy Owl that was several times larger and more intelligent than those of his kind. As Katsu was going on a hunting mission, it was only natural to bring his hunting partner with him.
Stopping to get his bearings Katsu thought about what herbs he should actually search for in order to fulfill the mission he was performing. Grabbing up a stick he started drawing letters in the dirt, naming plants off. It was Winter in Kaminari, and their was indeed a light feathering of snow on the ground, so Katsu made sure to only list off the plants that he knew would be healthy in Winter. He ordered them first by how rare they were, and then by Alphabetical order...
Delrean (80%)
Sanicle
Spanish Nut
Hawkweed (75%)
Saffron (60%)
Cow Parsnip (50%)
Kelventari
Bastit (20%)
Olrui (11%)
Chervil (10%)
Hart's Tongue
Bittermourn (5%)
Looking over his list Katsu scratched his chin idly, annoyed at the scaly growth there. He turned to Seishin, who had alighted upon a low lying branch to wait for Katsu's decision. Speaking in the melodic language of the Birds, Katsu gave Seishin his answer to what he wanted to hunt first. "There are twelve different plants that are to be hunted this time of year, some of them common and others hard to find. We should first search for a pair of the Common herbs then work our way towards the more rare. Agreed?"
The response was a single hoot of acknowledgement, and Katsu looked back to the list, "Good. First is Delrean, it's a very small fir tree with silver..." Katsu would describe the herb in detail for Seishin as best he could speaking in the Owlish language, making sure he understood exactly what was to be found.
With their plan set Katsu would head West to search, leaping from tree to tree in silence, his eyes gazing at the ground trying to find the tell-tale golden-brown cones of the Delrean plant. They would show up nicely against the snowy background of the forest, and hopefully once he caught a flash of golden brown he could find an intact plant. In order to aid his efforts Katsu placed his goggles over his eyes and selectively used their Zoom function to get better views of plants that were farther out. Delrean was absolutely Common however, and Katsu didn't think he'd have any trouble finding a pair.
Seishin for his part took to the Skies in order to assist, heading East and falling into typical Owl hunting patterns, flying high and silent on the wind gazing down at the world below. He would fly in a rhythmic pattern, flying a certain distance before switching back a dozen feet to his initial left, dividing the entire forest up into a bunch of quadrants he would search one by one. Whether or not this would help him view the small Delrean plant was a mystery, but Seishin was a smart animal, he'd figure it out eventually..
[OOC: Two 80% rolls for Delrean please!]
