With my sense of direction, it didn't take long to venture through the Lands of Rain, towards the northern vicinity of the region. I would have to ask the Amekage for a map of the land---or steal one from these Pluvia villagers had I the chance. It took me nearly two hours of sprinting from tree to tree to reach the outskirts of the town. What I had seen reminded me of my old village.. this had brought back nostalgia.
Around the village, Miku and Akuryo ran along with their childhood friends, pretending to be shinobi of Konohagakure. Even at a young age, they possessed a surprising amount of chakra--the group had been chasing each other up, down and around the small and tattered town for some time now. Walking against the surface of buildings and trees enabled the boys a bird's eye view of the area. Mikutashi and Akuryo had been tasked with finding the other five children, who had been hiding somewhere within the village. As they ran around, Akuryo called out to his brother:
"Over there, Mikutashi!" he hollered as he pointed to his right, where two of the children they played with had been hiding underneath a high porch the whole time...
Shaking those thoughts from my head, my gaze returned to the scroll.Disappearances in Toshi!
Rank: C
IIC Length: Two days
Difficulty: Moderate
Objective: Investigate the recent disappearance in a small town.
Description: Toshi Town in Ame no Kuni has fallen victim to strange disappearances. No one knows where these people have disappeared to, but rumors are plentiful. Most believe that a group of kidnappers reside in nearby caves. Others swear the disappearances are the product of the mayor of the town's foul play. One thing is for sure, these disappearances must come to an end.
Reward: 3,100 Ryo
I had no idea where the caves mentioned had been located, but with so many foot tracks in the mud, it wouldn't be hard to find the kidnappers. As I entered into the village, an elder man approached me. He had been waving a large stick madly above his head. I should have instantly killed him as he approached me in a hostile manner.
"Halt! Who are you? Where are the children?! Bring us back the childreeeennn!!" His shouting had caused others to fill in the empty spaces of the village. What at first appeared to have been a ghost town had now amassed nearly forty people in the square, each one looking at me as if though I was the kidnapper. I could have taken all of their lives, but I was against such actions. Slowly, I rose my hands to meet the man, who had a legion of parents at his back.
"Calm yourself. I am here to aid you in finding the lost ones." My face seemed to appeal to many within the crowd. I appeared to be someone who could save them. "Where are the caverns located near this town, and how many children have gone missing?" My black cloak had gotten heavy from the large amount of rain its cloths had soaked in. Someone was going to die today.
