Knowing the existence of traps was a simple matter. Knowing what kind of trap that exists was a different existence all on its own. Traps range from all types and sizes. Some took up a whole room. Some were specific to a corridor of sorts. Others were meant for just a single door. Then there were the smaller, more malicious types that made up of an entire item.

When the Doctor had to look at the types of Traps and had to memorize these traps by putting them into his Memory Palace he simply started by organizing them in their proper categories. The first category the Doctor expressed more detail as he learned more. This were the Room Traps. These tended to be the most feared traps within an area. These types of traps were the main event of an area. They are carefully-planned and had a patterned engine of destruction with the single purpose of the destruction of those who are within the room. Room traps are the system to create dismay and only designed to kill.

These types of Traps tend to be the most elaborate and detailed of traps. As history has shown, these types of traps tend to be called "puzzle boxes" for the strain of survival.

The next type of traps were the Corridor Traps. The most common setting for these kinds of traps are long, dark, damp corridors. Ceilings can fall, walls can drop, and arrows can fly from hidden holes. These are some of the most dangerous places found in a castle or dungeon of any type. Their visual aspect is normally an innocent appearance.

Creators of Corridor traps tend to use these traps because of the simplicity of them. They work because of the tunnel's dimensions. A creator has a fairly good idea where a target or party will be walking and thus can create a horrible device with a high degree of directional accuracy. Another is the creator can calculate or even expect where victims will line up in a row to create a sequence of pop-up targets.

These traps are intended to be used within corridors and stairwells. With a crafty crafter however they can be modified and just easily used in a standard room or even a treasure chamber. Some of these traps serve to alter the direction of a party while others will simply ensnare. Then of course there are some that simply kill.

Then there are the traps for items and artifacts. These are considered to be the "bait" traps to lure people to their doom. These range from gold, jewels, devices of power, and even tasty creations. These were created because many thought all they had to do was simply "outwit the trap and get the treasure". These were created to alter the predictability of such notion.

These traps take the bait concept to a more logical conclusion. The creators of these traps make the bait as the trap themselves. There are no elaborate machinery or bottomless pits when these are used. Items and artifact traps have a substitute of subtlety for overkill.

Most of the creators use standard items to create these types of traps. That does not mean that these treasures are not guarded. Most of the time they are still guarded by some horrible beast of sorts. This was done to keep people from second guessing. It is better to make a target feel that there is value to the trap to avoid suspicion. With this notion the target will most likely simply grab and scoop the target thinking they got the reward without actually looking at what they have. Their guard would be down, and that's when these traps came into play.

There was a fourth category of traps however. This category the Doctor did not feel he should spend too much time on, even though they had their purpose. This category was called "things" What are things? well things are types of traps like peepholes found within the walls. Things are the floors that are not floors. Things are the eye-catchers of traps. They were somewhat part of the Items and Artifacts section but they did not always encompass the same style of Traps.

The Doctor started his studies with the Room traps, the first room trap he remembered very clearly. This trap was called the Infamous Wheel Trap. In levels of difficulty he listed traps between levels 1 through 5. This trap was a level 4 trap in dangerousness. It was called the Infamous Wheel Trap. The user could put this trap just about anywhere they have a lot of space. This trap works best when it is sprung against a large number of adventurers all at once. This is done normally at the entrance of the room.

What the Doctor liked about this trap was the complexity. The Adventurers will walk through the door to find that they are standing at the base of a long ramp. This ramp slopes up away from where they stand and ends at a wall with a door in it. A five foot trench is dug down the direct enter of the incline and runs from the base of the slope up beneath the door. The main ceiling over the corridor is also part of the trap and is quite high.

To the right and left of the adventurers along the base of the incline are small rooms. These rooms are featureless. The Entrance of these rooms are blocked by rows of barrels arrange partially along the main corridor area of the room. From the Doctor's studies he came to the conclusion that these barrels were filled with a liquid of sorts. These containers with the liquid would prove to be quite immobile and would take an incredible amount of damage to break open. The way these barrels are designed is to focus the targets into moving forward and up into the corridor.

How this trap starts is when a person starts up the slope. That's when the steel curtain begins to slide down from the ceiling to block the doorway from which the adventurers have walked into. AT the same time the large wall up the corridor will drop into the floor. This will reveal a large black corridor sized wheel. Since this wheel is no longer restrained the wheel begins to roll down the slope towards the targets at incredible speeds.

These wheels are mostly considered perfected items, so it makes destruction that more difficult. This also limits the target from escape through more destructive methods and forces the targets to think outside the box. Now they could scramble over the barrels into the small rooms before the wheel reaches them; or they could attempt to leap into the trench while running up the corridor. Hunkering down can allow the target to allow the wheels to pass by overhead.

Because of the nature of this Trap, it is up to the creator to even decide if they wish to make such fail saves. Sometimes these escape routes will not be possible, however that would make it difficult for the creator to escape if he himself perhaps triggers the trap. Adventurers must be careful however and try not to block the path of other people or else they could succumb to the effects of the traps.

Here's the thing though. What makes this trap even more unique is that those who hunker in the trench may not see the 2nd wheel that follows right behind the first wheel. The problem with the 2nd wheel is that it is placed just where the trench is located, and thus will be rolling along the trench which will essentially destroy the targets in question who are in the trench. A Target could leap out of the trench just before the wheel crushes them, however this is extremely difficult.

Now those who decide to jump into the rooms are honestly not out of the woods either. By rushing into the side rooms the barrels of liquid mentioned before are intended to act as a crash cushions to prevent the wheel from doing horrible damage to the wall of the room. The barrels will fall scientifically, and slow the wheel just enough to let it crush characters caught behind it, but it will not do any major structural damage. The barrels however are not filled with foam or water. They are in fact filled with a burning corrosive acid.

This acid sprays into the side rooms and will most likely cover the targets with the acid. Armour will provide some sort of protection but only for awhile. This is considered an end all type of Trap. It is meant to destroy everyone inside through various contingency plans. This is why this trap has a rank four in dangerous levels for the Doctor.

Obviously this isn't the only trap that tends to hurl large lethal objects at targets. Another version of such a design is called the Amphitheatre trap. This trap is more obvious than most so it gains a level 3 mark in dangerous levels of dangerousness in design. This trap however still has great visual effects and is normally placed due to treasure luring.

Now the Amphitheatre's main focus is a crouching statue that holds a massive golden globe above its shoulders. The Globe is approximately five feet in diameter. It weighs approximately 5 tons. In actuality this giant globe is made of pure led.

The floor of this room is quite enormous, and it is finely balanced with a simple lever. Whenever a weight is set on the floor of this room, the lever shifts, which causes a pole within the main Amphitheatre structure to rise and dislodge the golden sphere. The ball will then bounce down the steps and into the midst of the party.

The next trap the Doctor learned about was called Illusions. It was a level 3 trap. This was a subtle trap, meant to make it look like there was no trap. This trap makes the targets see a large simple, empty room. At the center of the room is a spike filled pit. How this room looks is that the targets must walk around the pit. There are two walkways on either side of the center of spikes.

The visible pit is an illusion. Also an illusion is the section of roof above the walkways, which in reality is covered in rows of spikes from above unlike those in the pit.

The safest way to get across this trap is by walking across the "pit" using the walkways will cause giant springs from beneath the floor to slam those sections against the ceiling, killing the targets. The way this works is by applying mirrors to the flooring and walls. The mirrors bounce and reflect off of the spikes in a way that they look like spikes are along the bottom in the center instead of on the top of the room where the walkways were located.

The Doctor noticed there were quite a few complex room traps such as these. They were absurdly complex, and were incredibly dangerous in the way of disposing the targets in the most unconventional way. Every once in awhile the Doctor began to ponder if the creator of these traps may have been perhaps a distant relative.

Another example of these types of traps was called the Slider Spiker. This was a trap designed to take form in a room with a staircase. Another Level 3 trap but a unique one indeed. The Staircase would run up to about 30 feet at the ends to a door. The only other noticable features the room had was there being a hole in the ceiling. There was another exact hole directly beneath the hole on top. There would also be a thin parchment target which conceals a long, sinister steel spike.

Whenever a target begins to climb the stairs and touches the door, the steps of the stairs would fold down making the target slide down. Obviously against Ninjas who are well prepared for this could stop themselves by using a Chakra Walk of sorts. The Doctor could use his Grapnel gun if needed. However if the target could not stop themselves they would slide down the length and vanish into the hidden trap door at the base of the stair case. What made this trap even more interesting however was that fact that if the target screams, their sounds could be heard from beneath the hold at the center of the room. This makes it seem as if the target is down beneath the hole. If anyone were to jump down they would find their end against the spike from below.

This was not the strangest room the Doctor encountered however. He's seen worse. There was a stranger room called the Lobster Trap. This was a trap that rendered targets captured and then unconscious elsewhere in the dungeon. This puts the targets in a rather precarious position.

The Targets would be held captive in a cage suspended 50 feet above the sandy floor of a large, circular room. At the bottom of the room are hungry rock lobsters prowling around. Their claws could be heard as they anticipate their feast to fall to them. The cage will hang by a chain from a winch. This winch is also fixed into a track that runs across the room's ceiling to terminate in a blank wall some distance away.

Now there is more than meets the eye to any observer stuck in this situation. First the cage projects an undetectable invisible wall Jutsu from the cage's bottom all the way to the floor. This allows the targets to climb down a rope ladder safely. The Lobsters will not breach the wall as they believe it is real. However this type of knowledge is unsuspecting to the targets. Second, the wall section where the ceiling track terminates is actually a thin section of painted parchment. These tracks continue straight through. Then finally there is a hidden hollow floor below the cage's original position. On the bottom it contains a chest and an unmarked lever set into the ground.

Now these lobsters are tough. Any kind of direct combat with them can end in disaster for the targets. Normally targets are also unarmed when faced in this kind of predicament. Now their possessions are normally held in a small room beyond the only door out of this room.

The Targets cannot just up and kill these lobsters to escape. A Single target can crawl on top of the age and pull on the handhold rings with all of their might. Now if a target is strong enough to use the winch, then the cage can be moved through the false wall and into a bed of feathers beyond. If the target in question lacks that strength then the cage will move a considerably shorter distance before falling, which is where the Lobsters are also located.

Now if the targets decide to become fearless and go down the latter, they will instantly notice the lobsters keeping a respectable distance from the shield and can most likely learn about the existence of the Jutsu. Any target who reaches the bottom will also find the secret hollow.

Now at the bottom there will be normally treasure, and of course a lever.

If the targets decide to pull that lever, it will be doom for them. This lever immediately and irrevocably cancels the Jutsu and the Lobsters being sensitive to such things will rush for the kill.

Now where the room of feathers is located, that is where no doubted the targets will find their items. The Doctor listed this room trap as a trap of Level 4 design. Very dangerous with many tricks to get through, but not as much to rank it the highest rank possible.

Now there may be a plethora of Large equations of rooms but there were quite a few small ones that can do whatever job is needed.

There was one the Doctor remembered reading about called the Deluxe Centerpost. It was a simple square room, a single indestructible deluxe Chakra Staff was wedged betwixt floor and the ceiling. The staff is worth many but supports the free standing ceiling. If one were to grab the staff and try to take it, then the ceiling would fall down. A Minor inconvenience but hey if the Doctor really needed a powerful staff there was at least one thing to consider. This kind of room left a small impression for the Doctor so he ranked it as a level 2 room.

Another example of a small room was the Dastaradly Lava Room. This was an elegantly small room trap but it needed the Doctor's scope of difficulty to rank 3. The targets would encounter when they enter what would be considered a standard dungeon room. It would contain several mounds of glowing lava. Regular exists are through standard doors and are easily accessible from any point of the room.

A Medium sized tunnel will lead from this room. At the end of the tunnel there the targets can and will see a sign. Exactly what the sign will say however is indistinguishable.

A target who goes through this tunnel to see what this sign says will be able to find out. The sign will say "You blew it". That is when the target will turn around and they will see the lava mounds have been moved behind to block the tunnel entrance leaving the target trapped.

There was a another trap that the Doctor always liked. It was a level 4 trap in his eyes. This trap was called the Hoovermatic Trap. This trap interested the Doctor because of its effects to create a partial vacuum within to disable the targets. The targets first enter a room through the only door. This door then shuts on its own and locks behind the targets as they all walk into the room. What makes this door unique is that it fits flushed neatly into the wall and is very difficult to rediscover.

The room is lit by a simple light. The floor is 3 feet deep in coins, and the walls are made of black basalt, which is a smooth and featureless material. The ceiling is difficult to see due to the walls sucking up the light. Now normally targets will begin to collect the coins. the ceiling begins to pull away from the floor. This causes the room pressure to change making the air incredibly thin. After approximately 8 to 10 minutes the targets will then pass out due to the low air quality.

Then if the target is still in it for 15 minutes the target will die. Now there are ways for the targets to notice what is going on. The first thing is seeing torches and lamps begin to sputter about. The second is seeing small animals the targets may have brought pass out beforehand.

If the targets find out what is going on ahead of time then they can actively try to find the door and escape that way. If not then the next best thing was to ask for a miracle of sorts.

Through his studies he remembered running into another room called The Bigger They Are. This was a Level 3 room for the Doctor. This was a room where the Doctor felt that the death here was quite, cliche.

The targets are encountered a trap whenever they enter a natural cavern. The entrance is then sealed up behind the targets. Usually this is done by falling rocks or whatever the trap designer decides to do. As the entrance falls, the room then begins to fill up with water.

Near the ceiling over a hanging ledge there would be a large rock that is jagged in size. A target can ten try to get themselves out by tying a rope and wrapping it around the ledge. Some trappers will find a way to store sharks into the area and as the room fills the sharks will come through trying to eat the targets. This may give an incentive to try and grapple the jagged rock from above.

The problem however is that the rock is deliberately balanced in place. Any sort of tugging will then cause the rock to drop onto the heads of the targets trying to use the rope. In any event that could cause the rock to fall, will make it fall. This is what makes the trap somewhat cliche, and a little bit out of taste for the Doctor.

There was another watery room trap the Doctor remembered that was weirdly called the Is it The Piccolo, or is it Memorex. This type of trap was a level 3 trap for the Doctor as it provided several levels of danger with an interesting visual effect thrown in for good measure.

Now the trap is used deep within a body of water. The targets will find themselves in a glassy walled room. Large sea creatures normally float about by the murky gloom visible beyond the glass. Normally targets will see this as a beautiful effect of sorts. Now inside the room there would be an elaborate pedestal with a beautiful looking piccolo. Problem is, what's guarding that is a Shoggoth. A Shoggoth are alien like creatures that are large in size.

When confronted, most characters tend to play the piccolo and exploit the weaknesses of the Shoggoth which is sounds. Of course the creature will lurch into a dance; the shriller and higher the note the piccolo makes the less dangerous the creature becomes. Problem with this is that the higher the target plays the piccolo, the more of a chance it then breaks the glass. The glass walls are sensitive to high pitched sounds and thus will be problematic if the target plays for a lengthy period of time. The targets must also be careful in attacking for if they miss, again they can destroy the glass.

It's not exactly the most unique trap, but it was quite dangerous if used properly.

Now one of the more absurd traps the Doctor found was one called "The One That Got Away". This was a trap was created to be silly. The Doctor did not know why such a trap was created. He gave this one a Level 3 in difficulty however so i even though it was dangerous, it was still quite dangerous.

This room trap was formed from natural rock. It's completed with an array of menacing stalactites hanging from the ceiling. The floor is covered by a freshwater lake for the most part. Now out some distance onto the lake is a pier. When the targets look they can see the pier which stands complete with a pole. This type of chair is a fisherman chair. The water below is patrolled by numerous hunger fish so i it makes traversing very difficult. There is a fishing line attached to the chair and there is already tension at the fishing line.

The trap works by the target sitting down on the chair. The chair is spring loaded and is only released once the line becomes taunt. If the target is sitting and they begin to reel the line, the trap is sprung. One, if the target is sitting on the chair then they will be flown up and slam into the stalactites above. If the target happens to keep their hand on the pole, then they are sent flying into an arch and launched into a hidden reef located just a few inches above the water.

Again this was a unique trap meant for laughs, however the chances of the Doctor finding any of these was, well rare.

Another room that had a level 3 room trap the Doctor as familiar with was called the Atlas Affair. This room was filled with statues. The statues were mounted on a turntable that slowly spins to show the statue a variety of angles. Enhancing the effect of the beauty in this room there would be a valuable gem set at the base of each figure.

The statues are protected by a cylindrical chakra barrier that runs from the floor to the ceiling. Now what makes these statues and the cylindrical chakra unique is the fact that these cylinders hold up the roof. the targets have to choose to loot the room by dispelling the Chakra Cylinders, they will end up bringing the roof on their heads if they choose this route. A simple effect for a trap.

Then there was yet another type of Trap that was a Level 4 Trap. Sadly the Doctor did not know many Level 5 Traps and hopefully he would never run into these but for now he invested in specifically smaller traps. This one was called the Bridge at Rue Vincent. A strange room trap indeed. This trap is a room filled in three meters of boiling wax. There was a narrow wooden bridge lacking guardrails that usually hangs safely across the wax. The air with the vapors from the boiling wax below would splash up upon the bridge making it slippery.

The targets should be able to smell the wax that fills in the air. They should feel it on their armour, clothing, weapons, and even the bridge. A fall into the wax will be fatal sadly. If the fall however does not kill the target or a target, then they will suffocate from the boiling wax.

Now within the room the Doctor remembered reading about a flint statue being the crux of the trap. If the statue is ever attacked with a steal weapon, the flint should send up a shower of sparks. With a bit of luck, the wax vapor will ignite, setting fire to the bridge and perhaps even a large number of targets as well.

Now for Corridor traps, the Doctor remembered reading up that the most popular form of corridor traps were the variety that obstructs or otherwise impedes a target's path of travel. These traps can usually be overcome with sufficient effort and brain-strain, but if there was a failure then they can prove to be fatal. Because of the nature of traps, they function well when placed athwart the route to a treasure chamber or even an exit to an area.

Rivers of acid, water, or even molten lava crossing a tunnel are natural obstruction traps. They are fairly common in the world, however, most experienced targets will greet such obstacles with a yawn. Probably because they have seen such things over a hundred times and there will no doubt be able to navigate the obstruction in some way if they truly desire.

One of the first types of traps the Doctor learned about was called the Hop, Skip, and a Jump trap. A Four level trap in the Doctor's mind. This trap was created within the same line reasoning as above. The construction of the trap was quite simple as well. The target would meet a typical trench perhaps 15 feet across and filled with some disagreeable substance. Now a target could jump across, however there was an invisible wall located on the opposite side.

Now a target could attempt to jump however they would most certainly be doomed to do so. The wall has nothing to grab onto sadly and will happen so quickly that any other targets would probably not have a chance to save the first target before they splash into the pit. The only way to defeat this trap is to dispell the Jutsu that makes the invisible wall at hand, then jump over it. Another way is to teleport across it to a blind spot beyond the wall. Hopefully there was nothing else behind.

If a trapper was cheap in creating this, then they could put a sheet of glass across instead of using some type of Jutsu. This removes all Chakra from the trap, and eliminates the chance of a Chakra User sensing that there is something on the other side of the pit. Also a target who jumps is especially lucky as they may actually travel through the glass instead of bouncing off of it. The target would take significant amount of damage from plunging through the glass, however they would be in better shape than say, landing in lava.

If the trapper wanted to make the trap any more insidious, then the trapper can cover the pit with a trap door designed to give way when the targets tread upon it. Thus the trap may get multiple targets. What makes this variation more difficult is that the glass, or wall on the opposite side makes it impossible to grab anything. Also any remaining targets may still try to jump across, getting hit by the original trap.

There was another trap that the Doctor remembered that was very similar. It was equally subtle, and equally deadly. This was called The Gas Passage and was a level 2 trap due to its simplicity. It was designed to extinguish torches and kill the stupid.

The targets would be within a lowered section of a corridor filled with carbon dioxide. This will then extinguish the light of the torches. This will also eventually kill the targets if any anyone were foolish enough to simply stand in the tunnel.

Many crafters will try to make this trap even more deadly by placing a pocket of natural gas or hydrogen above the carbon dioxide within a lowered section of the area. Then when the targets move to a higher location, that gas will still be there, and if they were to relight those torches, they would find themselves in a very bad state. The Doctor made a mental note to never carry fire unless absolutely needed, and in a controlled environment.

Targets often use numbers for safety. They walk close together, fight back to back, and even navigate through dangerous locations while roped to one another in a single line. Some of the most interesting combats, however, are those which match the targets singly against one or more creatures.

A Level 2 corridor trap was born to make this happen. This trap was called the Sectioning Corridor. This trap was triggered by a pressure plate concealed within the floor of the corridor. When the plate is stepped on the walls of the corridor is swiftly turned perpendicular to themselves, isolating each target of the group into a separate section. Trappers will normally release creatures into the opened sections allowing for an interesting form of combat.

If the targets walk side by side when the trap activates, they ill probably wind up in the same section which isn't too bad. This type of corridor is normally done however to force a group into walking front to back, enforcing a back to back style of walking. This makes the group walk in single file, and makes the combat that more interesting. This kind of trap is normally placed as a timer. So the targets have to wait for a specific amount of time before the trap resets itself or else then the targets will be trapped inside.

Now there was another Level 2 trap the Doctor remembered that had a twist with its obstruction. This was called the Archer's Tunnel. This trap was a vertical ladder chambered trap.

It was originally designed for an area that had 3 or more levels. It works best with a party who knows what they are doing as it tends to make them second guess themselves. The trap was structured to have a ladder shaft complete with a pit of boiling substance. These ladders may be sturdy but are only loosely attached.

At the top of the shaft stands an archer with their weapon ready. The archer shoots at anyone who tries to climb up the ladder or flying up the area. Either way the targets will find themselves in a bad situation, especially if the archer decides to wait until they are midway up the ladders before they decide to attack. This can make the targets stranded and divided into different route.

This trap is meant to give targets a hard time if they have some sort of intent of escape from a lower area. Going lower normally tends to lead to more dangerous areas of the dungeon or building.

A truly clever trap the Doctor remembered reading about was the Mirror, Mirror, and the Fall. It was a trap that was level 4 on the Doctor's list. It was comprised of a mirror system used to lure the targets to their doom.

The targets would be presented with a room that was 50 feet long from doorway to doorway. The area between these doorways would be filled with molten gold. The targets would have to find a way across the gold before they could try and continue with their journey.

When going through the hallway, as it narrows there would be an invisible wall. This wall presents as an added obstacle to any target's progress through. This wall also tends to provide protection for the mirror further along.

When going further down the corridor, the mirror crosses the corridor diagonally. This mirror reflects the left part of the room in a way that it would appear to be a continuation of the main passage instead of the side passage. When going beyond the mirror there is an additional ten to fifteen feet. This is further expanse of the molten gold.

The corridor appears to be short and so it tends to encourage targets to try and teleport across. Doing this will most likely land the target in gold. If the target had friends, they will see their first target disappear and hear screams however they will not know what happened to their friend.

Crafters of traps tend to put a surprise in this room because if the targets ever figure out what is going on they sometimes will simply break down the mirror on the wall. These troops are put in the right wing of the passage. These troops can make it difficult for targets who attempt to make it to the left wing of the corridor and to the door.

Now there was another trap that was quite particularly vicious and yet it was a Level 3 trap for the Doctor. It was called the Magnificent Marble Misadventure. This trap was sure to slow down any of the most confident targets to a crawl.

This trap when encountered is a simple unadorned set of curtains that hangs across the dungeon corridor. These curtains are parted or disturbed. There is a large downward swinging door from the ceiling behind the targets that walk into corridor. The door that swings downward releases a supply of oil coated marbles on the floor. The targets will probably have a hard time keeping their footing, and may even end up falling into the pit at the opposite side of the curtains.

While the marbles are released from the ceiling, a hopper on the opposite side of the corridor will open releasing more marbles to the floor. The targets may or may not notice depending on how alert they may be.

The targets will then be facing a problem of getting across the pit, The door is dropped behind and cannot be budged and the floor is covered by the marbles. The safest way of getting across is the party to push the marbles on their side of the pit into the hole. Then they can try and run and jump across, however that's when they will be hit with the other marbles on the opposite side of the hole. These marbles do not provide with much traction for anyone attempting to land across them.

No matter the direction of the targets, the trap was designed to function either way. This is a strict function trap, and should only spring itself all over again when the party passes the curtain on the far side of the pit.

There were two traps the Doctor remembered that were known to be "well-worn" and "common" but were altered for unique ways. These traps were to cause problems for those people who felt that they've "seen it all before".

The first Trap was called the trip wire that is not. This was a level 2 trap. The main feature of this trap was a standard hinged section of the floor that was balanced upon the center of a fulcrum. The slightest weight would give and would flip the floor section down into a pit or cage or even to some sort of horrible fate depending on the set up of the trapper.

On either side of the floor section is a highly visible trip wire. This wire, when broken causes two spring-loaded steel spikes to fire into the floor section from the corridor walls. This makes it a "safe passage" If the wire is left intact, the floor section will freely tip as designed so the targets have one of two choices to deal with, spikes, or the floor.

The other trap punishes the long distance target which is called the Last Laugh Trap. The basic understanding of this trap is similar to the Trip Wire that Isn't in that there is a tilting floor section design. The floor operates in the standard way however the design of the trap opens into a pit filled with the debris of former victims. This means damaged armour, weapons, bones, and perhaps even a bit of treasure or maybe a unique item or two.

The Doctor made the level of this trap as a Level 3 because of its uniqueness and continuous dangerous attitude. The hinged slab found on the floor should be easy to locate. It's either by sight or the fact that it moves when poked with a staff. The targets can luckily locate this trap before it is too late and hopefully decide to attempt to recover what is down below.

Thing is the actual trap is not below, but above. The trap activates the moment the hinged floor is tilted high enough to hit the roof of the corridor. This is normally caused if there was an idiot within the group who decides to activate the trap, or by an eager target who is attempting to wedge the floor and try to get inside where the treasure may be. Once the floor hits the ceiling, is hits a unique pressure plate above. This then causes the roof of the ceiling opposite of it to smash down to the floor.

Thus, the moment the targets have been reduced to paste, a clean-up crew is dispensed to clean up the area, sweep the targets remains into the pit where they can serve to lure another group to their doom. As they say, the best traps are the tidy traps.

The Doctor remembered reading on two traps called the Gremlin Guacamole, and the Hobbit Hash, he remembered how the creator of these two traps were not satisfied and so created another pair of corridor traps that had a familiar theme. Both of these traps utilized a water-filled tunnel. In order to make them work any trapper would have to lure them through into the water tunnel, which requires them to swim through the corridor for a prolonged period of time until they can discover any air pockets to breathe through.

That is where "Take a Deep Breath" trap came in. Its main focus lied within the construction of the airpocket. Now if a trapper wanted they could simply neglect a pocket if they wanted, but a more subtle solution to this is to fill the pocket with poisonous gas. A knock-out gas can work out greatly in place of the poison which could render the target unconscious and easy to capture.

Some trappers are known to take it a step further by placing an undiscovered tomb chamber at the end of the water tunnel, and placing a powerful Necromantic created mummy at the end.

Now this tomb's atmosphere is super-enriched by Oxygen. The target has either been holding their breath or breathing water to reach this point so they should not notice the air change right away.

Now what this enriched atmosphere does is makes it apparent that any sort of flame that is produced will flare up and cause more damage than expected. This effect will backfire to any creature or target that produces the flame. Most trappers will also place the tomb in total darkness giving the targets a reason to have a flame being produced. This trap is not as dangerous as any others so it ranges as a Level 2 trap.

Now for the first Level 5 trap the Doctor ever documented and remember was the one called Look Before You Leap. This was part of a pair of two traps that took the concept of new death with new cliches. It combined Chakra and monsters to create a horrific end. Now targets who are able to sense Chakra will tell there is Chakra ahead of them. If they were using a Detection Jutsu of sorts they would see that there is a pit beneath the floor hidden from view with an Illusion GenJutsu.

The Targets if they wish to not be surprised will try to dispell the Jutsu. Doing so will show what is lurking inside, which are the creatures.

Now the second trap that co exists is called Between a Rock and a Hard Place. This trap is a variation of the common pit in the corridor trap, and makes the targets stay on their toes at all times. It is even known to make a target lose a toe or two.

This trap begins with a standard pit on the floor. It is activated by whatever means the Trapper deems necessary. If the target falls to the bottom of the pit, then they will find that they are in too deep to climb out on their own. That's when a trap door will slam against the side of the pit and pushes a button recessed into the wall. This button causes a vial of acid to shatter, which then dissolves a wire that runs through the dungeon wall and securing the section of the roof in place that is over the pit.

The Wire will dissolve the wire in seconds. Now this pressure plate is the catalyst to the wall because it is still keeping the wall from falling down. So long as the weight remains on the floor of the pit, the pressure plate remains where it is at. The block of ceiling remains in place and does not fall. If weight is removed from the floor then the ceiling drops into the pit and will crush anyone who stays within.

There was one trap the Doctor remembered and he sighed to himself as he felt it was some sort of joke. In fact when he went on this endeavor he felt that most of these traps he learned throughout history were jokes of sorts. One in particular was called the Greystoke Memorial. This trap made the Doctor understand why he keeps and uses his own gadgets at hand because he knew that they would not be dangerous for they are his.

The Corridor is broken by a huge pit with something nasty filled inside. This could be creatures, disgusting fluids, or anything else the trapper manages to get their hand on. There appears to be no way to cross the pit. A target can probably panic especially if they are being followed for an attack.

Now with the right observation they will notice a block-and-tackle up above at the center of the of the pit. With a bit of luck they could perhaps get some rope around that object and secure it to allow the targets to use the rope across this pit.

The block and tackle is not actually attached to the ceiling sadly. It is actually attached to a rope and pully system that comes loose from the ceiling if the weight of a target hangs from it. This whole tackle assembly will dip sharply down from the ceiling altering the trajectory of the target. Instead of landing cleanly onto the far side of the pit, they will slam into the pit wall itself.

If a Trapper really wanted to feel hurtful they can install a battery operated crossbow that fires bolts along the projected angle of the flight whenever tension is applied to the tackle device. This was a Level 3 trap in the Doctor's mind.

One of the more unique traps was the Ball Bearing Corridors which was a level 4 trap.

The trap itself was a section of a corridor. It was hollowed out to form a complete sphere. A spherical section of the corridor made of stone is set inside the cavity which is then balanced upon well fine greased up rollers. These rollers allow the spherical part of the room to spin around, rotating from its access.

As one would expect if they know what this level 4 dungeon does, the fitting of the ball within the cavity is tight enough to ensure that the junctions with the hallway will be difficult to detect. The balls are delicately balanced and a target who steps into it will cause the room to tip. Now a trapper may decide to increase the tension to allow more than one target to enter the room before it rotates if they so wish.

Either way, the sphere rotates, and the targets will fall into a pit below. For an added effect trappers can place spikes at the bottom of the pit. If they wish to be especially cruel they can install battery powered crossbows in the upper half of the trap to shoot down at the targets. In case if a trapper falls in their own trap, they tend to normally apply a trap door for escape up along the top half.

The next trap the Doctor looked up on was called, the Slippery Pit. It raised a level 3 of difficulty of traps for the Doctor. It was a trapped surly to spell doom to targets who insist upon using the "tried and true" methods of evading what is considered to be obvious traps.

The trapper must interrupt a standard dungeon corridor with an obvious wall to wall pit trap. They complete it with greased and slopping floor sections. The normal way to avoid this kind of trap is to pound some pitons onto the corridor walls and negotiate the trap by hand over hand maneuver. the problem to this solution is the walls are very thin. Pitons secured within the walls will come loose if overweight is applied to them. To make this even more dangerous, it is suggested to conceal a sheet of contact explosives behind the thin walls.

Now that the Doctor learned a bit about the Obstruction style of corridor traps, he felt it was time for him to learn about the more interesting kinds of Traps found in corridors. One of them was called the Detours. They were a common type of device which forced the targets off of their line of advance and on some alternate pathway against their will. These kinds of traps were useful in areas where the floorplan allowed targets to wander around aimlessly while avoiding the provided encounters.

A normal example of this kind of trap was the Which Way to the Front trap which was a Level 2 trap. Now a Trapper can use a simple set of sliding doors that is triggered by either pressure plates or a trip wire. This trap then swiftly changes a bare stretch of corridor into a new room. This is a room that can be occupied by almost anything, but if the trapper chooses to put a creature inside, then there is an excellent chance that the target will be surprised by the sudden change of situation. This could prove to be fatal for the target. Normally there is a door on the opposite end of the room but as far as the Targets know this is the only way through for them. This is why this type of trap gains a level 2 on the Doctor's notice. It's dangerous, but it's not life threatening, most of the time.

Another variation of this type of trap will send the targets to a lower level against their will. This kind of trap is called the Chute and Hammer Trap. It is activated once the target walks past the pivot point of a plate hidden within the floor. This plate will tilt down in a forty five degree angle. It will dump anyone standing upon it into the chute below. This chute is very narrow and positioned within it is a hammer designed to strike the targets who fall down. Smaller targets may be able to get through it with no problem but others will either be knocked unconscious or have a splitting headache.

If the trapper wishes to make this trap even more deadly they can make the chute narrower making targets fall flat. Then the trapper may turn the hammer along the flat end making it catch a target's jaw if they are falling feet first on their back, or at the base of their skull if they are skidding down on their face. Either way if the target survives they are free to move the lower levels of the rap.

Next came a Level 4 Trap the Doctor learned about that had the elaborate means of sending targets plummeting towards the lower levels against their will. This one was called the Slide of Delver Dumping. It was a side tunnel trap. It was used off of the main corridor and could be located on almost any level but the deepest.

While looking normal, the slide would appear to be a standard side corridor. IT would lead from the main route to a slight incline and ending in a door. When this door is opened gallons of eel oil or other suitable substance is released out. The oil then splashes down the length of the corridor coating the ceiling, walls, floor, and anything else making it frictionless.

As this happens a large spring concealed beneath the corridor will uncoil and lift the entire tunnel upwards at an angle. Any targets inside would find themselves skidding down the length of the corridor at blinding speeds.

The Targets are not out of the woods either. A trap door is also located at the main corridor and it snaps open when the spring uncoils. This creates an expressway to the lower areas of the dungeon or housing. Targets may have a chance to save themselves if they can grab at the rim of the main corridor as they shoot by, but that could prove difficult if the trapper decides to tamper that area as well. There could also be other variables, such as a target who may be safe from this area.

The first Level 1 dungeon the Doctor ever ran into was called the Mapper Maddener. It was a detour trap designed to give mappers a problem. This trap was located in a corridor intersection and composed of a number of sliding wall sections. These sections were designed to move about and arrange into various positions which would alter the basic shape of the intersection into a T, a straight line, or even create a dead end. This made it incredibly difficult for anyone who enjoyed making maps. This trap however only changes the intersection when a target is out of seeing or hearing range, making this even more confusing.

There were another set of traps the Doctor remembered however that were quite different from the others. These were corridor traps meant for harming. They were called the Murderers. Most traps corridor traps were meant to slow or re-route a target there were others that did no such thing. Many more were designed only to kill anything that entered them. These death traps were swift. Targets would have little chance to avoid such a gruesome fate. A number of these traps were designed on stairs and for some reason stairwells seem like a natural place to put a number of fatal traps.

One of the first ones that was mounted on stairs was called the Pilum Pacifier. A ruthless trap but only classified as a Level 3 trap.

This trap was activated whenever a leading target stepped on a pressure plate concealed within the trigger step. This would cause 3 pilums to spring forth from the stairs to a distance of approximately 8 to 10 feet. These Pilums would strike 3 specific areas. 3 or four feet away above the trigger step, an equal distance above the step below the trigger step, and above 4 feet above the step below that area. If the Pillum did not strike the lead target, they would hit the target who was standing next in line, or at least one of the targets standing below. Because of the widely difference of targets in existence these could strike a target practically anywhere.

Another Level 3 trap the Doctor looked up on was called the Folly Flight. This was a trap that took its toll upon targets who venture up a flight of stairs. Traps that utilize a deceptively simple construction with a devastating effect. This trap was one of those.

The section of stairs that comprises the trap would match the rest but is in reality a carefully balancing ploy. This meant that the stair case itself was a sea saw of sorts. With enough weight being placed on the stairs uphill of the fulcrum the entire set of stairs would swing downward dumping the target or multiple targets to an ill fate decided by the Trap Maker. Normally a pit of pikes would be placed at the bottom.

Then this trap is triggered is a matter of logic and discretion. If a target navigates the stair, they may feel a shifting beneath them as a forewarning when they are crossing the fulcrum. IF they are fast enough they may actually recover in time to retreat back over the pivot point. If a target was running the chances of this happening is slim.

Now if a whole party is moving up the stairs , the weight will not begin to shift until the bulk of the procession has crossed the pivoted point. The radical of the shift of weight is determined by the speed at which they are going up the stairs before it drops away. This was a simple trap, but an effective one for sure.

One of the more dark corridors the Doctor remembered looking into was called the See Saw corridor. A Level 3 trap of sorts. It was a trap that could provide death even for the more toughest of fighters.

This trap worked best in an unlit area to conceal spikes at the end of the corridor. This trap is similar to the "Folly Flight" trap in where a significant amount of weight must move past the pivoting point to trigger it, however the consequences of this action are more dire and deadly than the previous one. As the target passes by, the passage becomes deadly and becomes a drop shaft. How damaging the bottom is depends on how far the Target has fallen, but the compound menace of a long fall and impalement most likely means that the targets are no more.

Another similar trap pertaining to the uses of spikes with a grim effect popped on the Doctor's mind. If he remembered correctly it was a Supercharger Crawlway. It was also located in a low crawl like space off of the main corridors. This was a Level 4 Trap and had a fatal surprise for anyone who wanted to venture through.

Now this crawlway should be large enough for any normal-sized human being to walk through. It must be a very tight fit to make it work and the target must find it impossible to turn around. Once the target reaches the end of the crawlway, the target discovers a number of rubberized wheels that barely protrude into the passage through the ceiling and the floor.

If the target continues, they will apply pressure on the wheels and the trap will be triggered. The primary gears will begin to turn at an incredibly fast rate and will shoot the helpless target through several feet of the corridor into the next room beyond. Traveling at that speed would be approximately 60 miles per hour. The target then would burst through into the room and encounter a wall of spikes.

If a trapper were to use these kinds of traps it is recommended to clean them at some point because if multiple bodies are piled it, it may inadvertently keep the targets alive. Either that or, hopefully there are never a large number of targets who delve into these areas at a continuous state because if the bodies had enough time to dissolve, or perhaps be eaten by other creatures like insects, then cleaning would no longer be a problem.

Another grim form of the Spike usage trap was called the B-B Slope, but it was not as terrifying as the other. This trap was a corridor side tunnel that leaded away from a main corridor that ended in a door. This door which was at the end of the door's base is covered in spikes. Now beside the door at the end of the tunnel is an unmarked lever.

Now this door will resist all attempts to open it. It cannot be opened as it is simply a wall. Whenever this lever is pulled a section of the door is lifted and releases a hoard of ball bearings into the corridor. The target will most likely lose their footing and will slide to a painful fate on the spikes down below.

Now a trapper from the Doctor's knowledge can make this trap even less suspicious. The incline could be replaced with a flight of stairs. A person may not slide down the set of stairs but they could tumble down and even do some damage as the spikes are far down below. A Trapper can then dispense with the spikes all together and still have an innocent looking but quite dangerous trap if they desired to make the alterations.

Another possibility is to have the door release oil instead of ball bearings. That way the substance would certainly cause targets standing in the tunnel to lose their footing and if one of them were to drop a torch of sorts, then the corridor could be lit into flames making it even more problematic for themselves and any others who may have been involved with the targets.
