With a hard-on for success, Gorou is not only arrogant and full of himself, he is also charming and quirky. Driven by sheer desire to impress everyone and gain the true appreciation of his parents and older brother, Gorou would never back down from a fight, even when he is clearly outmatched by his advisory. He's not stupid, however, and is capable of admitting when he's been beat, often shying away from death with his humble attitude. He is nor a sore loser, and that attribute alone makes him entirely too desirable by all who are looking for someone to be impressed by.
Gorou looks up to his older brother, Shinji, and has tried to inherit some of his brother's characteristics. Strong and stoic, but his natural kindness tugs at the seams, and much unlike his brother, he is humble and genuinenly happy. He does, however, want to be like his brother when it comes to success, but to surpass him would be even greater. Since Shinji joined the AnBu, Gorou hasn't seen him since the ritual and has no knowledge as to when he will see him. If that ever does occur, he might act distant from friends when his brother is around, and try to brush people off as peasants. His brother is a douchebag, so perhaps it's a good thing Gorou has developed his own personality.
Rounding back to his ambitions and goals for the future, the simple answer is this: He's gonna be the next Kazekage. Or, at least, he wants to be, and he's going to train extra hard to be, but a part of him doubts his ability to become such a thing. He tucks this dream deep under his bed with the rest of his monsters, and works towards the goal in humble silence. Figuratively, as Gorou is extra loud. His laugh is thunderous, not to mention contagious, and he cracks jokes like it's a coping skill. Because it is. To trudge through the shit that clogs his life, he makes a play out of everything, effectively softening the blow of inhibitions and self-doubts. He bottles those motherflippers right up, though!
Relying on his brute strength, Gorou is the bronze in any relationship. The brains would be his best co-partner, and he seeks someone who holds intelligent up in the same ranks as where he holds strength. He's fog-headed, forgetful, and foolish. Sometimes he needs to be smacked back into lines, often not taking heavy things as seriously as one generally should. He's capable of seriousness, yes, but it's very rare to see him fall into the habits he would normally harbor in his brother's presence. He's a pro at masking his emotions, it seems.
Gorou holds little resentment in his big heart, and he is quick to forgive first time offenders. Justice is a huge part of his ego, however, so fool him twice and he's gonna deck you in the fucking face and give you a broken nose. Or maybe he'll just ignore you forever. Either is to be expected from him.

Toned muscles ripple under supple, tanned skin. The deep tan carries around his entire body, a tint of blue glinting in the sunlight. His entire back is hued a far more darker shade of blue, stretching over his buttocks and down his calves, staining his neck. He supposes it's because he best resembles a great white, as it's the dead shark he used in his ritual.
His dark red, border line maroon hair falls to a few inches above shoulder length. His bangs have grown long and can no longer sit at his forehead, so it falls to frame his face, loose strands often falling between his dark red eyes. Dark red, sharp eyebrows fall into a sharp nose. A pair of fair lips sit above his pointed chin, a pair of razor-sharp teeth residing in his cave of a mouth. His shoulders are broad, his arms falling into muscular forearms, topped off with a set of large hands. You could even say they're... Yaoi hands. Although, they are not necessarily that oversized. On his fingernails, and toenails, is a staining kind of nail polish to keep his nails a deep shade of red, often being mistaken for black.
Wearing your traditional Chinook attire, Gorou wears a robe that's tied at the waist by, not only a deeply colored headband cloth, the Sunagakure hitai-ate shining proudly on his belt, but also a dark red rope-like holster for his dagger, sheathed in a green bulk that often disguises his hitai-ate as a mere belt and nothing more. His robe is a warn-down shade of white, mucked up the sand and sun of Sunagakure. At the skirt of the robe are two horizontal, parallel red lines that end in a point between his knees. The robe closes at his torso, exposing his semi-ripped chest and a hint of nipple action.
Around his neck he wears a loose beaded necklace, decorated with the colors green and blue. It was once his brothers, unironically, and he holds it very dear to him. On his forearms he wears gold braces that wrap around him like a bandage. On his left leg he wears a gold bracelet. Thanks to his Hoshigaki attributes, his feet are tough enough to where shoes are unnecessary, so he proudly shoes off his large feet.
To accessorize, sometimes Gorou can be seen with a few extra articles. His head-dress is dark red, sitting largely atop his head. Dangly feathers hand from it, as do two same-length pieces of cloths from either side of his head. They're striped yellow, bordered in dark blue. The over cloak drapes over his shoulders, falling to match the length of his robe nearly, the hem floating at his ankles.

history
history
Born to a relatively wealthy family, Gorou has a few dimes to his name. But not as many as his older brother, whose shadow he constantly resides in. Big brother Shinji is a respected AnBu black-ops from the Bear division, and his fortune and fame for it within the Hoshigaki household overshadows what little good Gorou is capable of. That's probably why he aspires to be the Kazekage.
Gorou decided he wanted to be a ninja early on in life, often begging his older brother to play Ninja with him. He was enrolled in the academy at the age of 8 and promptly graduated when he was 9. He was amongst the best in his class, surprisingly, but was naturally overshadowed by his 14 year old brother that graduated to Chuunin the same week. His graduation was celebrated with cake and presents, and Gorou's parents easily forgot to do more than give him a cupcake and extra money to spend on whatever he pleased for his. He loves his parents, and they love him, but he generally wishes for them to also recognize him as ninja and not just a baby son.
Trapped and trying to escape his older brother's shadow, Gorou struggles to find new ways to get his parents' attention and all of those who are willing to be colored impressed. He's fit and trained and relies on his brute strength in combat, as are the teachings of a mentor he kept in contact with after graduation. After a few years of training under Kenji, whose name was so casually overused in their language that Gorou later decided to call him Ken instead, Gorou is capable of now surpassing the man.
Interestingly, tragic things seem to happen to everyone with a shiny goal at the end of their tunnel, as per the norm in ninja society it seems, so of course it comes to the reader as no surprise to say Kenji was bloodily murdered in cold blood, and his mutilated corpse would be found by Gorou. Of course, the tragedy did come as a shock to Gorou himself, and he had to struggle and deal with the haunting image for a long time. Three years later and he's finally come back around, ready to face the ninja world that awaits him. He hopes he won't have to deal with anymore dead friends.
It's tradition in his household to go through the Hoshigaki rituals. Gorou complied, naturally, in hopes of attaining more appreciation from his parents. He has undergone the ritual recently. The hardest part for him was the obtaining the dead shark, but after a few days of frivolous search, he was able to capture and kill a large great white. It was a bitch to get, but he managed, and upon dragging it home in time, his brother had already gotten for him the rest of the required supplies. The same priest who had preformed on Shinji would preform on Gorou, and after mixing his blood with the ink, the priest asked him to sit before promptly drawing a large circle around the man in question. Before he knew what was happening, Gorou was plunged into an illusionary world.
For some off reason, Gorou refuses to recall the memories of such a world.
He was chatted to about how to use all this new strength, his chakra and muscles swelling, his teeth sharper now. Upon checking his skin, Gorou would find that a new blue tint has taken over his flesh, which was mildly upsetting. But he spends so much time in the sun that the color is balanced out by his tan, though the blue is still visible in the light. Focusing heavily on how to drive his new force, he spent a few days alongside his brother, who trained him everything he knew about their abilities.
