Inoryu thought back to Adelle's next training point: the overhand throw. It wasn't difficult in theory, he merely had to practice. First, he went around and retrieved all of his tools, even the shuriken he had thrown into the building, before starting his next regiment.
He had a kunai in his hand. His feet were half a shoulder's length apart, he brought the kunai behind his ear. His fingers were placed on the handle side; this throw would send the kunai flying with just half a turn to pierce the target. He drew in a breath and exhaled. He threw the kunai by following through with the stance. It was hurled across the ten meter length and ricocheted off of the wall. A direct hit.
He drew out another kunai and repeated the process. This time when he drew back the kunai to behind his ear, he held it with the blade grip. This kunai, if thrown properly, would spin rapidly through the air to slice and stick the target. In this case, it would ricochet off the wall. He followed through on the throwing motion and released the knife. It spun through the air and ricocheted after the blade slammed against the concrete wall.
Again he tried with the grips; the handle grip first, then the blade grip. He was growing more proficient after every throw. He retrieved the kunai knives and practiced again, the handle grip first, the blade grip second. He watched as the last kunai was sent hurling through the air and ricocheted off the wall. He knew he was doing it right; the precision was on point with his aim. He went to go retrieve the kunai knives. He continued this practice until it felt natural to him, and he could execute without thinking.
