Like all members of the Kamyuja bloodline, Guren is a man that suffers with a mental disorder. His particular mental disorder is Schizoid Personality Disorder, or SPD. The personality disorder affects a lot of his actions, although it does not run his life. He is mistaken as a sociopath because of his lack of compassion and concern of others lives frequently. That assessment could be seen as accurate.
Often appearing happy with a soothing smile, even in the company of others. Guren comes off as a caring individual who simply wishes to live a life of absolute freedom. He spends a lot of time alone, just spacing out and daydreaming of one day becoming a cloud. A dream he has had ever since a child. To float around aimlessly doing whatever he pleased and never having to worry about anything. To spend eternity alone in the sky would be the greatest freedom he could imagine.
Despite having such a dream, he is not lazy whatsoever. Wanting to live a life of absolute freedom also warrants strength. He is an accomplished swordsman with the goal of becoming the greatest in the world. As a child, he was always fascinated with swords and found that he enjoyed the quiet company of swords more than he did that of human interaction. Even with his happy facade around people, he just plain and simple prefers solitude. Of course this is one of the causes of SPD.
Being a good aligned person doesn't make him some compassionate person seeking heroism or to be a world savior. Anyone that stands in Guren's way is an enemy and will have no sympathy shown toward them. He doesn't fight for some convoluted reason like justice or world peace. He fights for himself and slays anyone in his path. He isn't an honorable knight, he is a ninja. Most find it odd that a swordsman doesn't fight honorably, but that is just a human weakness that stunts ones strength. When he draws his weapon, he draws it to kill, no matter what it takes to reach that goal.
He has been labeled a demon in human skin during times of battle, constantly trying to kill his opponents. Again, he has some qualities of a sociopath having no regrets killing those that stand in his path. During combat, he tries to hold on to his happy facade, but tends to get serious and forgets to show his warming smile. Everything he does is for his dream of truly becoming free.
He is a man that has an insatiable appetite and can eat for days if given the chance. He loves any and all food and will just keep throwing it down. When he eats, he just stuffs his face, shoving mouthful after mouthful down his throat. He can't help but try and satisfy his hunger by pigging out. Even though he loves all food, his absolute favorite thing in the world to eat is meat because he can just shove it down fast without the need of utensils.

Guren isn't the tallest man in the world, standing at one hundred and seventy-two centimeters. Of course making him a man of average height. His height was really never a notable feature and not really talked about among anyone simply because it has no real significance. The katana on his left hip fall to around knee height, with the hilts coming out of the sash to around chest height. Of course the guards are above his sash.
He weights roughly seventy-four kilograms, making him slightly above average in weight. The way he eats, it is really shocking that he is only slightly above average when it comes to weight. And when it comes to his bodies mass, this isn't due to him having a fat gullet. This added weight is a slightly above average muscle mass from his hard training. As a swordsman, he has to be physically fit and does a lot of physical training to maintain a healthy figure.
His face is often shown with a smile that is very relaxed and somewhat calming for others. Despite this he has cold, naturally violet eyes that show a degree of seriousness. He always seems to be alert which is what it is typically seen as. His features are a bit soft, but not like a female. His fair skin is unblemished and looks very well taken care of. His bottom lip is more pronounced than his top lip but all in all he looks more like a young noble than he does a ninja.
Guren has long black hair in a style that compliments a samurai's top knot hairstyle. He wears in with the top knot in the back, but allows his hair to fall back freely. Though his hair is kept together as if he is wearing a ponytail. Length wise, his hair falls down to his waste if let down. In the top knot style it comes to the middle of his back. He has two prominent bangs, one on the left side of his face, the other on the right. Both coming down past his chin but aren't a bother to him since they are out of his actual face.
Clothing-wise, Guren typically keeps to the same fashion. Even though it is an older style of clothing he prefers to keep the look of a samurai. He wears a pair of grey hakama, that almost look like they have a very light purple shade to them. This could be because of the purple kimono he wears to compliment them. The purple kimono has a light purple design in them, almost looking like a combination of crosshatch and flaming five leaf flowers.
Around his waste is a white sash, wrapped around twice so that he can put his katana in between the first and second layer. He has no excess hanging, rather it is tucked into the front of the sash. His Kusagakure headband is worn right where it is supposed to be, on his head. Though the cloth to his headband is very long, flowing with his hair to the mid of his back. Also, the cloth to his headband matches the cloth of his sash, being white in color. His hair actually hangs because of this headband.

Guren was always fascinated by swords. He had an extreme appreciation for them growing up and lived his life surrounded by weapons. It was far more comfortable for him to do that and not be around people. He was a bit of an outcast, always sticking to himself. Still, no one dared mess with him. They feared for the worst from the boy that had an expansive collection of katana that he gave names to.
Guren was born in the Kiba-no-Kuni; a cold, foggy nation filled with large mountains and low valleys. Though he was born in this country, it was not where he grew up or where he was raised. His parents were traveling merchants that had decided to settle down in Kusa-no-Kuni, where they could open up a shop in one of the nations cities and make a living under the protection of the shinobi village. Guren's parents rather enjoyed settling down.
They thought Guren would enjoy it more himself, but that wasn't the case. He didn't really fit in with the children of Kusagakure. It was an odd because of his fascination with weapons. He thought surely future shinobi would be more understanding of his sword collection. The problem with that was that he didn't know any of the kids going to the Academy. His parents decided to enroll him, knowing that he wouldn't grow up to be a merchant as they were.
He had wonderful, understanding parents that knew that their blood was the cause of his solitude. They never judged him for it. Having a mental disorder was all a part of growing up under the Kamyuja blood line. Guren immediately got noticed at the Academy. When it came to the basics of Taijutsu, Guren was well above the average student. When he learned handseals, he was as quick as any adult in performing them.
He wasn't a genius by no means.
Guren had to train hard to earn the strength that he had. He took every class seriously and focused on the objective. He didn't have any dreams for later in his life. He just wanted to run around with his katana and live freely like a cloud. Having graduated the Academy, Guren continued to train. Avoiding any possibility of having a team or doing missions. He had no goal of becoming a Chuunin, such things were trivial. Instead, he continued to grow. His father had trained in multiple arts of swordsmanship and taught him the basics to multiple styles.
Then his parents graciously paid for him to receive some lessons from masters in order to gain an even better aptitude with the sword. He learned a lot from his masters and was even taught better ways to defend himself from Genjutsu. Outside of training, he would constantly stuff his face. His parents were well off with their business, so him doing so didn't really affect them. He trained hard enough to look like he didn't eat like a glutton.
