Personality:
Always push yourself to the limit. Only when you do this can you improve. This quote from his brother is one of the few sayings that Yamato holds close to his heart. His brother told him this when he was young and ever since then, he has followed it. And it has not let him down yet.
The only reason Yamato is a law abiding individual is because he just hasn't found a reason to break one yet. He understands that there is reason for these laws, but if he ever needs to break one, he will do it without hesitation. But even though he is willing to do all of this, he still has respect for the law. Because without laws being in place, the village would be filled with chaos. And a village filled with chaos is doomed to fall.
Whenever Yamato is working or out in public, he puts out a no nonsense type of aura. People who joke around too much just have a way of getting on his nerves. Maybe it's because he will never have as much fun as them or maybe it's because they're disturbing the peace. Who knows? All he knows is that the moment he puts on a stern countenance, people are less likely to act like a fool around him.
The only things Yamato cares about is his brother and the few novels that has managed to attract his attention. Although his parents haven't done anything necessarily wrong, he finds it hard to care for them. This is probably because they were rarely in his life, too busy with missions and such. Yamato doesn't hold it against them, but they will never have the same bond that he has with his brother.
Fiction stories interest Yamato because of how unlikely they are to happen. What are the odds of you being summoned to another world? Slim, very slim, so slim its practically nonexistent. Yet he likes to think, what if? What if he was summoned to another world? What would he do? There are so many answers to these questions and he doesn't know which one is correct. Still, until it happens, Yamato has all the time in the world to think about it.
Like most people, Yamato was shy when he was young. Even if he had a question to ask his teacher, he chose to suffer in silence, rather than attract attention by asking the question. When all of the other kids went out to play, he was usually one of the few that played alone. Some of the other kids couldn't play because they were bullied, Yamato didn't have that excuse. He was just too shy to muster up the courage to ask if he could join. If they rejected him when he asked, he didn't he could handle it. Therefore he satisfied himself by watching from a distance, hoping that someone would notice him and invite him to play. But it never happened.
The days passed Yamato in silence as he watched the other kids play. Not liking the silence, he began to talk to himself. These talks ranged from what he ate last night to the confusing lecture his teacher gave the class. He was content with doing this, for the first couple of months at least. Talking to himself was good and all, but it was a one sided conversation. So when one day someone spoke back from inside his head, he was ecstatic. Imaginary or not, his life just got a whole lot better.
Appearance:
On Yamato's head lies messy silver hair that extends to the base of his neck. His bangs often hang over his right eye, hiding it from view. No matter how many times he brushes it down, the hair on the back of his head always manages to stick up. After years of trying, he has come to accept the fact that sometimes hair just won't stay down, no matter how much you try to make it. Due to this, his hair often has an unkempt look even though he brushes it every morning.
Yamato's eyes are the color of a freshly polished amethyst gem. His purple eyes always contain a look of seriousness within them. Above his eyes are thin eyebrows that are the same shade of color as his hair. Dark lines can be seen underneath his eyes from many sleepless nights. His voice also takes on a deep tone, making him seem older than he truly is.
Yamato has an oval shaped face with no noticeable blemishes except for the lines under his eyes. The skin on his face is smooth and quite pleasant to touch. His face is cleanly shaven leaving no facial hair in sight. Whenever he is in public, his thin lips can be usually found in the shape of a frown. He inherited his slim cheeks from his parents, just like his silver hair and his purple eyes.
Standing at a height of five feet and nine inches, Yamato can be considered taller than the average person. He weighs 130 pounds which can be considered normal in his family. His slender build enables him to squeeze through place that would normally be impassible. Thanks to his thin fingers, he is able to create small and delicate objects.
Whenever he in in his village, Yamato can be seen walking with firm and steady steps. When he is in the presence of a higher ranking ninja, he stands tall and with a still posture. His clothing usually consists of dark colors ranging from navy blue to black. Navy blue pants, a black shirt, and some black boots are his usually wardrobe. If it is colder than normal, he usually wears a black cloak over his normal set of clothes. He keep his headband wrapped around the upper part of his left leg.
Background:
Like most members of his clan, Yamato was born in the Land of Earth. His parents were highly skilled in making pottery and sculptures and sold them for a living. But even though they sold their sculptures for a high price, his family was not making a lot of money. The reason for this was because other members of the clan sold pottery and sculptures as well. Due to this, the prices of their pottery began to go down. This forced them to make less and less money each money.
After dealing with this for a few years, Yamato's father had had enough. Packing up their thing, his family moved to Takigakure which was in the Land of the Waterfall. His father told him they moved because of the lack of money but his older brother told him they moved because of bad blood. It seemed that some of his relatives didn't like who his father married which led to frequent arguments between them.
Once they were in settled in Takigakure, his parent's business bloomed. Unlike in the Land of Earth, there weren't a lot of people who made the same items as his parents. Thanks to this, his parents began making a lot of money. However this left little time for them to be with their children. Creating unique sculptures took time and dedication. Yamato's parents would often spend hours on end in their workshop building what they thought would be their next masterpiece. There days were filled with happiness doing what they loved. However, they were so caught up in their jobs that they forgot something more important. Their children.
Although Yamato's parents ate with him and his brother a few times a week, it just wasn't enough. Yamato wanted to spend more time with his parents and learn more about them. But no matter how much he asked, his parents were always busy. So rather than try to spend time with his busy parents, he moved on to the next best thing, his brother.
Yamato's brother was older than him by four years and was more of a parent than his actual parents. At first he hated his parents for being so busy. Sure having plenty of money was nice, but he wanted his parents not new toys to play with. When he told his brother about his hate, his brother explained that if his parents didn't work this much, their life would be much harder than it was now. But although he understood why his parents worked so much, Yamato still held a grudge in his heart. By the time his parents started to try and bond with him, it was far too late. He had already moved on.
Yamato's role model was his older brother Alcor. Alcor would always spend time with him and would always make sure he was doing okay. On his first day of school it wasn't his parents who saw him off but his older brother instead. As the years passed by, Yamato began to rely on his brother for everything. He told him how he was feeling, how his day went, and the goals he wanted to accomplish in his life. No matter how down he was feeling, his brother was always going to be there for him.
At least that was the case until his brother decided to become a ninja. Thanks to the mouth he possessed on his hand, Alcor could do things that no normal ninja could do. He could create clay sculptures and explode them at will. Plus being a ninja sound cool and Yamato wholeheartedly agreed with him.
But becoming a ninja took time and dedication. Because of this Alcor wasn't able to spend as much time with his little brother as he did in this past. This devastated Yamato. Who was he supposed to talk to? He had no friends, and his parents were too busy with work. There was no one to talk to but himself and that's exactly who he talked to.
Months passed by as he talked to himself like he normally did with his brother. He talked about how his day went and what he learned at school. Sometimes he thought he heard somebody talking back, but he chalked it up to not getting enough sleep. However as time went by, the voices in his head started speaking more and more. At first this seemed a little odd to Yamato, but he didn't care, he finally had somebody to talk to.
Yamato still talked to his brother when he could, but he didn't talk to him like he used to. He only told his darkest secrets to the voices inside his head now. They had never betrayed him and they always had time to listen. His parents had tried spending more time with him, but he always told them he was too busy. He had given them a chance before, and they hadn't taken it. If he was that important to them, they should have taken some time off of work to be with him.
Once he was old enough, Yamato moved into a small house with his brother. Although his parents wanted him to say with them for longer, he kindly refuted them. He had really wanted to yell at them, but until he became a ninja, he was surviving off of his parent's money.
Whenever he had time, Alcor would helped Yamato with training. Since he was chunin, he knew a lot more than Yamato did. Although he was trying to catch up with his brother, the task was proving to be quite daunting. No matter how much he trained, his brother was still so far ahead of him. But all he had to do was give it time. He just had to push himself to the limit and do more than was required of him. Soon he would be a force to be reckoned with.
