Urchin, Giant, Green
Rank: ""
Type: Rare, Small, Mystical Beast
Effect: Urchins are marine creatures that resemble 3-foot diameter balls of spikes.
Special: Preparation: —; Duration: —
Drawback: ---
Description: Also known as Emerald Burr. Also known as Spike. Urchins are marine creatures that resemble 3-foot diameter balls of spikes. The creatures can fire these spokes as a defense. They will always be encountered in or within a half mile of the ocean. All Urchins can fire their spikes as a crossbow doing 8 Armour Points of Piercing Damage. All Urchins have the power of Clairvoyance (Allows the user to see what is happening in a certain locale), and use this ability to hunt. They do not specifically target bipeds unless attacked by them. In the water, the creatures can move quickly by shooting jets of water from the mounts of the underside of their bodies. Green Urchins are +95% invisible in the ocean against an observer's Observation. They can fire up to 2 spines per round. Urchins primarily hunt fish and small game. They can breathe air and water equally well, but prefer to stay in the ocean. Very rarely, Urchins move their lairs into a dungeon that has access to seawater. The races of Giant Urchins were created by an ancient alchemist known as the Sea Bastard. Presumably, gems were a key ingredient in their creations. Whether they intentionally seeded the oceans with them or they escaped remains unknown.
Yields: At the center is an Emerald Gem.
Diet: Omnivore; Intelligence Semi; Activity: Any; Alignment: Neutral; Organization: Group; Number Appearing: 1-4; Region: Coastal; Identification: Easy; Cultivation: Very Difficult; Skills: —; Innate Abilities: —

Cost:
Shiki pulled his ship up against an area that he knew was supposedly ripe with these monsters he was after. Shiki gathered up his resolve and attached the scuba tank to his back. It wasn't a crazy apparatus by any means but it was really just going to be used for helping keep about thirty minutes worth of air at once before he would have to go and resurface. Shiki grabbed his sword and jumped off the boat into the ocean.
