Pax watched as a black aura emanated from Zuruel, and in an awesome turn of events, it seemed to help him with his defensive prowess. "Impressive" Pax said aloud as he thought of ways to help defend the village he had just found. So he began to think of what he could do. It hit him as he saw a skeleton smash his previous barrier and it turned into dust... Or more accurately, Sand. Pax's mind began racing as he saw this and he instantly smashed a couple other barriers down like nothing.
It was a little discerning seeing his barriers break that easily but he had only just learned how to manipulate the earth. As the sand settled on the ground Pax formed hand signs and distributed his chakra evenly to every little sand particle around him. He nearly couldn't believe it when all the sand around him for about 5 meters began to rise into the air around him. His mastery of the wind release seemed to help him even make it this far, and he was glad he knew the wind better than anything else.
Without as much of a notice as before, more arrows fell from above Pax's head. With a keen instinct he noticed in no time that they were above him. With the onslaught of arrows above his head he had hoped his next move would work. He moved all the sand floating around him into a thick shield above his head hoping to survive. Without a contingency plan, Pax had surely put all his eggs into one metaphorical basket. Never before had he risked his own life just to test something this stupid out.
Luckily for him the arrows all bounced off the sand hovering above him, and landed in the ground around him. Without much time to react he could see a skeleton flanking Zuruel. With most of the sand around him being expended with his last move, Pax tried to get as much sand around the skeleton's ankle bones under his control. Once the skeleton raised his sword arm over Zuruel's head, Pax moved the sand under the skeleton to make a pit. The undead warrior instantly dropped into the hole in the ground. Once this was done, Pax buried him alive... well kind of?
Now that the immediate threat was gone Pax sighed and yelled to Zuruel. "Watch your flank next time!" With that out of the way, Pax put his hand on his empty scabbard where his sword would normally rest. He then ran his hand through his hair with a smirk. Cockiness was not Pax's strong suit but while the sand created a vortex like feature around him he had definitely seemed cocky enough. Without notice the chakra drained from his sand and dropped from the air. "This could be bad" He thought to himself while he held his pose.
